This shop has been in business for a long time. The husband used to be the tailor before he passed - thankfully the wife kept the shop open. It's in a great location in the back of a huge shopping center. Oddly enough my favorite thing about visiting is the beautiful Koi pond outside. I make sure when I have to go to take a few minutes to enjoy the pond. The owner is a sweetheart and EXCELLENT at hems. Our latest items to be tailored were my husband's tuxedo pants & jacket and my gown needed to be hemmed to show off my new favorite shoes! No complaints here! read more

Used to be fantastic, unfortunately not the case now. Took multiple things to get altered and nothing was done a month after pickup date. Gave clothes back to me that weren't even touched. Had to take all my clothes somewhere else. Such a shame. read more

This place has done a great job with small jobs like shortening hems. There is another tailor in town whose hem had come undone the first time wearing, not even after washing. The hems weve had done here are still holding strong even with washing. My qualm is I recently had a couple of items taken in significantly and I feel as if there was not care taken to make the items look good, they were just brought in the amount necessary along the old hem. Now my items fit but there is awkward looking areas where the slack should have been brought in a little more. The seams hold but the shape I feel is off on a couple of items, which is disappointing for the amount we paid. I would come back here for my simple alterations, like hem length, but will begin trying to find somewhere else to get more significant alterations taken care of. read more

I have to give five stars! Came in late - around 6:45 pm with an absolute emergency. Packing for a trip and the pants I needed were split! Ran to Martin tailor and she took the pants back and ran them through her sowing machine quick. She saved the day and I was in and out in less than ten minutes. Would have been a real disaster without her - thank you!! read more

No big deal they FORGOT to alter my clothes. I so upset I could cry. I dropped off my clothes a week ago and came to pick them up today and the lady nonchalant said they FORGOT to take them in. And to come back later to pick it up. I can't come back later- I'm going out of the country. I told her that when I dropped it off. She did not care at all. Even when I dropped it off she was short and treated me like I was inconveniencing her. And I told her my mom wanted to come in and she told me "I'm too busy send her somewhere else" WHAAAAAT.... I can't stand bad customer service. The worst part is, now the clothes I was planning on wearing won't work. read more

This tailor shop is hidden on the back side of the shopping plaza. We have been relying on Martin Tailor for all of our hemming and alterations since we moved to Orlando 10 years ago. The service has always been efficient and the quality is excellent. I dropped a star due to cost, but I do not know whether this particular shop is pricey or if all tailors are pricey. I dropped another star because in reviewing a tailor shop, I just cannot get 5 star happy! read more

I was referred to Martin Tailor by a family member. I need things hemmed for work about once a month/once every other month. I have used their service about four times now, with five or six pieces, and I won't ever use them again. Each time I only take one or two items in, they tell me it'll be ready in two weeks. Now, mostly it's just hem work I'm having done, so two weeks is a long time. But I suck it up and wait the two weeks, only to come back on the day THEY told me to pick my items up, and have them tell me it's NOT ready, and to come back the next day. Now if this happened once, I would understand, sometimes you get behind. BUT this has happened on THREE separate occasions. On top of it not being ready on the day it's supposed to be, it is pretty over priced, but the work is good. However, when you're paying that much for work done, you expect it to be good, quick, and ON TIME, and you won't get the quick or on time here. Be careful and insist for pricing up front!!! Took several suits to have them altered. When asked about pricing, she said she will have to get back to me when she figures out what needs to be done. Did not hear from her for three days. Called back and again no quote. Finally after two weeks my suits were ready. I asked her once again for price. She finally offered me the price...it was a little steep. I asked why so much and why did I not know about her pricing when I asked. She ignored the questions and simply said I gave you a discount. Turns out I was correct. Her pricing was an average of $20-$30 more than the average place. Avoid this place if possible. If you must go, GET THE PRICING UP FRONT!! I learned the hard way. read more

I've been going to this place for the longest time to get my dresses hemmed, but it hasn't struck me until now the quality of work done here. My most recent items I asked to get altered were two dresses, both a little bit long, to be hemmed. The first one was great, but later I noticed that the quality was poor because the threads easily snapped and came undone; I just picked up my homecoming dress and the hem is uneven. It's not straight and it's shorter in the back than the front. I am disappointed with the service I have received here and will not be returning. read more

This is a great local business with high quality work - I took a two piece suit and a tuxedo in to get altered (letting out the waist and seat in the pants, and sides in both jackets) They completed the alterations in less than two weeks (I had plenty of time before I needed them, so I didn't request rush service) The day they were promised to be ready on the ticket, they were ready for pickup. As for the pricing, I thought it was very fair - it only cost me $115 for everything which I consider a steal for all the work they did on my suit and tuxedo (four separate things to alter.) I am a firm believer that you get what you pay for, and I am very impressed with their work and service. Highly recommended - I will definitely be going back for all of my tailoring needs. read more

I walked in to this location and didn't get a good impression because it looked like it was very disorganized and the lady was busy on the phone. I stepped outside and did a quick lookup on yelp to see the reviews. I found a couple of bad reviews in addition to my bad vibe so decided to go somewhere else. Didn't know where to go but as always found a site nearby with good recommendations from Yelp. Went to Le's alteration on OBT. Immediate when you walk in the lady is super friendly, place looks much more organized so I decided to give her my business; can't say what the end result will be but the price was better and service was exceptional - thus far. Thought it would be good to post for those looking for an alternative place. read more

I wasn't impressed despite the good reviews. There was a problem with communication and lack of effort to work with the customer. I had a blazer that I wanted the sleeves shortened because they were slightly lopsided. However, she insisted that it couldn't be shortened and it only could be lengthened to make them even. I told her that I didn't want her to touch the shoulders and just try to take the cuffs out just slightly so they'd match. She seemed like she understood but she didn't in the end. A week later, I picked it up and sure enough, the shoulder was tighter on one side and the arm hole was also much tighter to the point of being uncomfortable. I wanted to her to redo it so she told me to pick it up tomorrow. Came back the next day, no change. I told her that I couldn't accept it/wanted a refund/partial payment since now the arm hole is messed up and one side is tighter than the other, giving me less arm space on one end. She didn't budge and kept arguing with me. Finally, she gave me $5 off my price and said that's the best she could do since she put "a lot of work" into it and I had to leave. Well, by "a lot of work", she effectively ruined my jacket. When I consulted with another tailor, they said she ruined the shoulder/arm. At this point, it would be cheaper and more effective to just get another jacket. I am very annoyed and disappointed with my experience. read more

Totally disappointed! Had taken in 2 jackets to have the sleeves shortens and the sides taken in. Told me they would be ready in 2 weeks which seemed like a long time but went with it. Note - no posted pricing! Went to pick up the jackets and was told that they could not find them and they would call me to let me know when I could pick up. Two days later after not hearing from them, I called and was told they had found them and they were ready for pick up. When I got there, I was told that the total would be $145! I asked if there was some mistake as this seemed very high especially after making me come back a second time. She would not budge. After some research found the they were charging about twice the going rate for these alterations. Wound not recommend and will never go back! read more

Took a very expensive pair of men's slacks in only to get them hemmed as this place was recommended to me by someone at work. It's only hemming pants. How tough is that, right? She said it would take a week to get back. I said I needed them sooner, since it was only a hem them could she do them quicker? 2 days she says. K, fine. I had taken a business card and the hours said until 4pm on Saturday which is the day she said they would be ready after 2pm. So I get there right after 3. Closed. Tried knocking in case someone was still there. Tried the phone, got voicemail but the memory was full so I could not leave a message. Picked up the slacks on Monday after trying to call several times to make sure she was open. Finally got through after multiple attempts and was told to hold. Fine. Then she refused to look for the slacks by my name, insisted on the number on the claim ticket. Gave it to her, hold again. Held. 3 minutes later comes back and says you have to call back I have customers. ???? So we just drive over. Get the slacks, charges me $15 which is only a tad high for simple hemming of pants, so no real problem there. But when my guy puts on the pants??? One leg is OBVIOUSLY longer than the other!!! I mean over an inch longer!!! REALLY??? This is definitely the worst service I have ever gotten from any tailor of any kind. Pitiful. Part of me wants to go back and make her make these slacks right, but I'm afraid she would mess them up more. My recommendation is to avoid this place. read more

I love this tailor, they have great prices for the work that they do. I have to get almost every shirt that I buy trimmed down to fit me right, so I go here often. The ladies here are very sweet and their prices aren't bad. Highly recommend it, unless you need something done quickly. They do a lot of business, so try to give them a little time. read more
