If you value being treated with respect and customer service, Mowerman is NOT for you!
I dropped my snowthrower off for service without incident. The instructions at his place were relatively straight-forward. After a day or so, he got back to me and things seemed to be progressing normally. He gave me an estimate (which we thought was quite high) and after a few back and forth where we told him we wanted to go with his "blower service", that's when things started to go off the rails.
We communicated exclusively via text. See for yourself how the insults just flew our way...
Since we cannot post pictures in a review, I've provided transcripts for you and a link to actual pictures of the text messages we traded. That's here: On facebook: /jesse.theiler/posts/10211023602643889
Transcript:
Me: Thanks so what be for the blower service in when do you expect to have it available? Thank you.
Him: And what difference does it make if you have no shoot for it do you want to make it into a planter a -running planter? The blower service is 59 95 the disassembly inspection and diagnostic another 15.
Me: OK thanks. When would you expect it to be available?
Him: Still not answering my question what do you expect to do with it when it's not even working why put money into it, do you have a magic fairy who can make a shoot appear out of nowhere do you think you could take it anywhere else and save big money like Menards? Of course totally up to you but personally it would be less expensive to have everything done at one place when no one lese would do it cheaper than me but I have plenty of things to do if you can't sleep without it I'll have it ready Monday I'll text you when you can come get it.
Him: Don't stress everything will be ok
Me:I appreciate your perspective. On second though you're right we shouldn't put any money into it. I'll just come pick it up tomorrow. No need for your blower service or any work. Thanks!
Him: Actually there is plenty of need for my service and my abilities and my perspective otherwise you wouldn't know what you need, I appreciate the opportunity to assist you and getting your machine back up and running...
Him: Go pack go I seem to have a feeling you're probably not a fan
Me: Not interested. Please have it available for me to pick up tomorrow. Thank you.
Him: I shall do, seems you may have taken somethign I said the wrong way misconstrued misinterpreted or misunderstood....
Me: Thank you.
After an apology from him, I thought, "OK I'll give him a second chance" So, here we go. We discussed trade in of $150 or cash of $90. He offered a specific machine for $300 with trade. BUT..mowerman couldn't help himself from eventually insulting me some more...
Me: We've talked a lot about it here. We're willing to give you $250 and we can make the deal today.
Him: I'm willing to accept 400 and we can do the deal today I have plenty of machines for 250 they're not two Stage their not 9 horse, it's not a garage sale sorry, do you go to Farm and Fleet and tell them what you willing to pay?
Me: OK. Thanks we'll come pick up the old one today or tomorrow.
Him: I actually order the parts for you for the black 1, it's that plus 250 plus your machine? If so I'll take 300 plus your machine.
Me: No thinask. We're not willing to pay that much. We'll pick up ous today or tomorrow. Thanks!
Him: Not willing to pay that much if you ever priced snow blowers before where you going to find a 9 horse 26 inch 2 stage for 250 bucks? And what you expect to do with a blower that needs parts, I see your really thought this ghrough....
Me: Thanks. Please have ours ready for us to pick up.
Him: No problem glad I could help.
Him: Or should I insult you an offer you $50 for yours at least I know what yours looks like unlike vice versa smart as a Democrat have a good day.
Fed up and after a few additional OK text where we say we're going to pick ours up again, I get one final blast from Mowerman:
Him: Well that was quick so you changed your mind again there seems to be an issue I have a feeling I'm texting one person who was talking to another then saying yes dear and then return the text.
