I brought my 2018 Honda Pilot into service for a recall and warranty repair. I used this dealership service because of its convenience. I explained to the service desk the purpose of my visit. Four hours later, which was okay since I found a nice quiet room to sit, I was told that I needed the bushing on my lower control arms replaced. I said thank you for letting me know and that I would get my work done at somewhere else because the mechanic is less expensive. And, to please focus on the recall and warranty problem. The tech said okay and the dealership gave me a loaner car since the warranty repair was going to take a few days. About an hour later, I received a text that I needed a new transmission, stating that there was metal in the transmission fluid. Since there was metal in the transmission, the warranty for a torque converter was null and void. However, the gave me a quote for over $5,000 to replace the torque converter. I told them I was returning the loaner and taking the car to my mechanic. I brought the car over to my local mechanic, he put the car up on the lift and looked at the bushings on the lower arm controls. He agreed they are worn, but still have life. That there is no need to replace and will pass inspection. Then, he looked at the transmission fluid and said, how can they tell if there is metal. The fluid is brown, yes, but that does not mean metal. In an 8 year old car, you would expect the color of the transmission fluid to be brown. Additionally, when my mechanic hooked my car up to the computer, it would not run a diagnostic because something, maybe the battery had been disconnected. However, my paperwork from the dealership did pop the code for the torque converter and since warranty work doesn't pay as much as consumer work it would make sense on a big repair to try and get the consumer to pay. I submitted a complaint in with Honda corporate. My car drives well and I have had no mechanical problems with the car. Except for the transmission light which only comes on when I drive between 60-65 miles an hour. In summary, as much as you can, avoid this dealership service department. read more

This is my dealership and they always do a good job. Service is friendly and they explain and answer any questions I have. The service was a bit slow today, took 3 hours for headlight restoration, but they explain why once I asked what was taking so long. They did take 10% off my bill for the inconvenience. My wife and I went inside the dealership and were told that there were no cars inside. We were told to go out to the parking lot to look at the new stock. To get to Martin Main Line Honda you slalom your way through the heart of Vanderbilt University and Ardmore where the term "old money" doesn't quite do justice to the pedigree of the population that lives there. And then you hit the under construction dealership that has more in common with a besieged MASH unit than a serious automotive retailer. I don't know if it's the no parking or the sales guys hanging around as amused spectators oblivious to the chaos that surrounds them. When we finally reach the converted construction trailers doubling as the business office we finally meet our Sales Sherpa who will guide us to the late model Accord that has caught our eye. We liked the car and could look past the dusty, unclean interior and the one bald tire that had obviously been swapped out from another vehicle... unless the elderly blue blood who allegedly owned this low mileage vehicle before us loved doing donuts at the local country club. Never once did we get a straight answer on whether they'd replace the tire and were completely stonewalled on the price by an openly combative Austin Powers Sales Manager who insisted this dusty sedan was "hot, hot, hot" even though it's been sitting at Main Line for close to six months. If you don't want to sell us the car at what we believe is a fair price, that's your prerogative but your triggered, less than intimidating Vlad The Impaler act is hilarious. Given the high octane zip code, I have to wonder how many rubes actually live in the area that allow this man to prosper. This Doctor Evil doppelganger is obviously mourning the disappearance of market adjustments where dealers routinely packed $10k onto the sticker of short supply vehicles during the pandemic just because they could. Odiferous attack of the senses. We drove over an hour to test drive a Honda my wife had her eye on. Arrived to a parking lot of total chaos due to the total redo of the dealership. Getting parked was a challenge and then I noticed 0 new cars on the lot. All used cars. We asked for the person who had been communicating with my wife and was told that was just a coordinator. We were going to be assigned a real sales rep. I was prepared to deal with going to the construction trailer. But then I walked inside. Makeshift desks with no privacy. Felt like a scene with Newman in Jurassic Park. Someone in charge I guess had made the decision to order all the employees there some sort of fish lunch. The place reeked. If a pregnant woman walked in there, she would have spewed on everyone. The break room was stacked high with takeout boxes , but I was gasping for air. We tried to escape into the water closet, but the water situation was not good in there. Even struggled washing hands in the sink because of the pumps required. We finally told our sales guy "Steve" to go fetch the car she wanted to drive. We were going to wait outside. In the amount of time it took to fetch the car off the lot, we decided this experience was not the kind we wanted in buying a new car. It might've been the worst ever. Took our car in for an oil change. The next day we were told that something in their garage damaged our hood. They gave us a loaner car while their body shop was fixing it. 3 WEEKS later our car was ready. Picked it up after work, around 6. When we drove away we noticed white powder in the front seats, the steering wheel is sticky and there is a strong odor of something like cleaning fluid. Our kids were hungry so we got something to eat and as I walked around the car I notice a dent in the back that was not there before. I called the dealership and was told the manager will call me back. I waited all day today, called and left messages and he finally called me as I was driving home from work. He is implying that the dent is from me and the powder is from the body work. What, did they leave my windows open when they were sanding the car?? This does not sound right to us. read more

Been here twice for service. Obviously, they were good enough to come back a 2nd time. However, nothing screamed great job or "I'm a fan" and there were areas for improvement. Trip number 1 was to deal with a recall on my airbags. I made an appointment and show up to find they didn't order my replacement airbag. Not a good start. They take my information and promise to call. Less than halfway home, I get a call saying they can work something out for me. Good news - I didn't have to take another day off and wasn't too far away. Hopefully, I didn't screw someone else by taking their airbag. Also, wasn't thrilled with the mistake in the 1st place. They took an hour or two to get the job done (reasonable) and also did their 121? point inspection. Trip number 2 was aimed at maintenance. My original plan was just to get the timing belt package completed as I figured my usual maintenance guy could handle some of the inspection related repairs. They emailed me a coupon, which was a nice savings. I scheduled the appointment online (easy enough) and they were ready for me this time. Given everything involved with the timing belt package, they offered me a slight discount on the other repairs, so I figured why not. Overall, I was happy with the service and the repairs seem fine. However, while performing the timing belt package, they broke the cover for the timing belt. No biggie, but I had to foot the bill (not sure why I had to pay for something they broke, but it wasn't that expensive and was negotiated into the overall 'deal'). I appreciate that they can work with you a bit on pricing and are willing to try and match/beat counter offers. I believe they are customer focus, but as seen above, can sometimes stray from that principle. And while their inspection probably results in a list of 'potential repairs', I feel they are honest about the priority of those recommendations. I won't say they have become my usual guy, but I trust them enough should I need more work in the future. read more

Terrible place to buy a new car. They "washed" a brand new truck I bought. On top of getting white paint all over the front of a brand new black truck, they didn't get all the dirt off of it and then dried it while it was still dirty, placing deep swirl marks all over the brand new paint. This was after I explicitly told the salesperson this was a concern of mine. They now are refusing to pay for a real detailer to fix it. My only option was to file an insurance claim against them. Never buy a car here unless you like dealer installed scratches and paint and to drive away in a dirty car. I recently found out they lied to me as well. I asked specifically if the car had ever been washed. They said no. They had actually polished the paint to remove a scratch. However, they over polished it and now this section needs intense paint correction. I thought I was getting a brand new truck. They sold me one with paint defects and then installed some more by incorrectly washing it before I left the dealer. read more

Martin Main Line Honda straight up LIED to me about having 2 oil leaks. Said $900 to fix. See estimate. I held off and brought it to another repair shop who confirmed no leaks at all. Have been a loyal customer of this dealer and service dept. Bought 4 cars from them, had them almost exclusively serviced by the dealer. Charged me for a "World class inspection", but didn't fill the coolant overflow bottle, bone dry. Oil dipstick absolutely stuck in channel, clear they never checked oil to see how much I lost (how bout those leaks, boys) before changing the oil. But, grease was absolutely everywhere coating the inside of the passenger side wheel well. Turns out while there was no oil leak, but it wasn't clear whether we had a punctured CV boot (where grease for the axel leaks out). If it was the case, it would've been DANGEROUS to drive it 5 hours to take my child to college. As a result of finding out this potential serious situation I wasn't able to take my large car for this trip, leaving behind bags of stuff. Inconvenienced and betrayed doesn't begin to describe it. Particularly because I told the service writer I was taking this trip. I would have said all of this to their face had Service Manager Bloomer cared to return my voicemails last week. Awhile back on a previous visit, the tech recommended some esoteric $700 fix (forget what it was, but i have the records for it) and I held off and rejected it. When I brought my car back for next service it was no longer recommended. I asked why, they said it was never an issue and that tech was fired from Honda. Again, glad I didn't take their word for it. They should be doing quality control on new/inexperienced techs. Lest they lose a longtime and loyal customer. Like they just did. read more

I brought in my son's 2010 Civic for wheel alignment service last December after installing four new tires from Costco, and was informed that both front wheel bearings were worn out. I was puzzling with the unusual noise from the front of the vehicle and could not figure out the root cause. I brought in the car for oil service at Burns Honda (Marlton, NJ) in 2019 and their technician did not say anything about the wheel bearing issue only recommended tire replacement. The technician at Martin Main Line was very experienced and explained to me how to detect the issue with wheel bearing by listening to the humming noise especially while making a turn. I was grateful that the puzzle finally solved with proper diagnosis. As a side note, I brought car back to Burns Honda in early 2010 and only replaced one set of bearing from the left front wheel. Their tecnican, upon thorough inspection, determined that only one side required repair. I actually saved almost $200 by finding the right Honda dealer for car repair with a second opinion. Both dealership took Costco 15% off coupon even though only Martin Main Line is listed on Costco website. read more

Bought a used car there in December of 2023 -- also bought an extended warranty, as it was my daughter's first car. Within the first 12 months (and only 4,000 miles of driving), the car has been in the shop 3 times for a total of close to $10,000 in repairs. Tires, brakes, rotors, under carriage, radiator, etc. All things that should have lasted well beyond the first 4,000 miles. And despite having the extended warranty, I was told each time the issues are not covered. I called to speak to the GM -- Mike Freeman -- and said at the outset, "I'm assuming good intentions, but here's the situation." As I finished explaining, his response was, "I don't think we've done anything wrong -- what do you want me to do?" No apologies, no understanding, no effort to try and help a customer who bought a car in good faith. When I expressed that to him, that I felt he was not even trying to help, he said, "I've listened to you for 5 minutes and I don't know what you want me to do for you." I replied, "wow, thanks for giving me 5 minutes" and he hung up. Literally hung up on a customer after 5 minutes. And I never once raised my voice or said anything derogatory. Avoid this dealership at all costs. There are several other options on Lancaster on the Main Line who are willing to help and do right by their customers. He was combative right out of the gate and wanted to accept zero responsibility. I honestly would have been happy if he just offered a couple of oil changes or something commensurate, despite my almost $10K in repairs in the first year. I went there to purchase a certified pre-owned vehicle and was highly dissatisfied. They advertised the car as a non-smoker car and when we arrived at the dealership we could smell smoke coming out of the vehicle from feet away. When asking the salesperson why it smelled they kept redirecting our attention away from the smoke smell. We then looked at another certified Honda and were ready to purchase it until we learned that they lied once again and advertised this particular Honda as a certified pre-owned when it was not. We were at this dealer for 3 hours and they flat-out lied the whole time and wasted our time. The pictures of the cars online are very misleading and they hide many flaws with their vehicles. This was hands-down the worst experience I have had at a dealership. I would not recommend this dealer to anyone. read more

Service Department Review. My visit was on 07/08/2020. Strike 1- Service Manager Steve Bloomer emailed me coupons for the service center on May 6th, June 5th, and July 5th. I go to use the coupon and every single employee, including the service manager, acted surprised and annoyed by me even presenting such a thing. Not one person knew about the emailed promotion. Corrado (service advisor) was arguing with the service manager in his office saying "it has your name on it" and proceeded to tell me it was "brand new" and that's why no one knew about it. Three months of an email promotion and that is brand new? Don't think so. Strike 2- I brought my car in to be serviced because my sun visor fell straight out of its place ( no fault of my own) and all the lights inside the car stopped working. I dropped off the car, explained what happened to the service advisor, and even sat inside the car and showed him that the lights did not work. They have my vehicle for over 24 hours, I pick the car and there is trash everywhere, the old sun visor part sitting on the seat, and the LIGHTS DONT WORK!! Yes, you read that right. A mechanic or auto technician at this service center installed a sun visor and didn't even check if the light on the mirror worked properly. That didn't even raise one slight question? Strike 3- I tell Corrado that the lights don't work and he replies with a confused and annoyed look. He did not believe me so I actually had the recruit the first service advisor I spoke to. The two employees then continued to argue over who messed this up. Extremely professional, right? Corrado doesn't care one bit about the mix up and does not try to make things right. Strike 4- Even after all of that not one employee had the decency to pull my car around and take out the trash. Nope, I pulled my car around myself from outside of the garage. (This is extremely bad and rare practice and have never experienced this in all of my years getting my cars serviced) Strike 5- I call the service manager Steve Bloomer and his lackadaisical attitude towards the situation made it easy to sever ties for good. I arrived at 7:45am and was told they don't accept appointments for oil changes (even though I had an appointment) and that it would be at least 3 hours, probably longer. They offer appointments online specifically for oil changes but then refuse to honor them. It was a huge waste of my time, not to mention the gas to travel there. The service guy seemed indifferent and had no self-awareness of the inconvenience their incompetence and misrepresentation was causing. They don't respect their customers. Would not recommend... avoid at all costs. So I came in with a trade in. A 2019 Mitsubishi outlander in good condition and low mileage (15000 miles). Kelly bluebook appraised it at 17,000. I also had a 720 credit score. I came in asking for a 2018 honda with a lower monthly price range... didn't happen. First their appraiser appraised the outlander for 13,500 leaving a 10k balance. I was then told I could not finance bc of the equity but I could lease and I could only lease new vehicles. I was then told my 639 payments would increase to 840 and bc my payments went up my debt to income ratio went up and I had to add my husband although I told them several times I did not want to. I also put down 2k. I said no several times. Every time I gave a reason, Steven would disappear in the back, come back with his manager who would then fast talk me. The manager even tried to convince me to allow a repo on my Mitsubishi and start a new loan with the Honda. After several nos and push back from them I gave in (I have high anxiety and have a hard time with firm nos, I think they caught onto this and took full advantage either way my own stupidity). I got back to the back office to sign the paperwork and the guy absolutely had no clue what he was doing. He kept totaling my monthly payment and it kept coming out lower so someone came in and assisted him. They ended up having to override the system and enter the amount manually. After sleeping on it I called the next day and asked did they offer any buyers remorse. I kept being transferred until I finally got someone who told me PA doesn't offer buyers remorse and once its off the lot its mine so now I'm stuck with a leased vehicle for 36 months at 840 a month with the next payment due on Christmas and I'm not too sure what my 2k went towards. They claim I'm paying 275 monthly in equity for 36 months when that would equal 9900. If I owe 10k and put 2k down wouldn't I only owe closer to 8000? So only 100 went towards my equity Avoid at all costs especially if you have mental issues like me. They will fast talk you, scam you, and won't accept no as an answer. Walked the lot for 10 minutes, two sales people saw me who were leaning on cars talking (we made eye contact) and made no effort to interact with me. I looked at every sedan and the vehicle info on the window and still nothing. I walked past them into the sales floor, stood there until someone interacted with me and was then shoveled off to a guy clicking away at his computer. I asked if there was a list of inventory we could review to which i was told i could view it on my phone. So you want me to do your job and sell myself on a car? Having been to two other dealerships that day, you probably should have sat me down as they did, asked me questions, as they did, and showed me what was in my price range as they did. Was having my car serviced and inspected which I'm told would take about 3 hours. My husband was to drop the car off and I was promised by a service rep just the day before that he'd be able to use the shuttle service even though he lives 8 miles away instead of the five mile limit to use the shuttle. instead, my husband gets to the dealership only to be told he can't use the shuttle because he lives more than 5 miles away. My husband waited outside due to COVID for 4 hours for my car to be finished. I called and spoke with Joe, a service manager and all he did was pat me on the head, apologize this happened and told Me he doesn't know anything about who promised this service to me and he was unwilling to find out, there's nothing else he can do. I won't be going back to this dealership to buy another car or for service. I know I'll now get one of those boiler plate apologies from someone at Honda. We were helped by Roman Tobak and his kind, non-pressured demeanor was much appreciated as we looked for a new car lease. He helped us find the perfect Honda CR-V for a reasonable price and a very smooth lease signing. Roman and David Baratka were a great team in helping us finalize the details of the lease and applying all the offers I was eligible for. Liar, liar! The short version: they lied about changing the oil, when they didn't. I checked the oil shortly after I got my car back, and it was black as my morning coffee. The long version: I took my daughter's Honda Accord into the dealership's service department to ask if I could get a quick oil change. Since they claimed that they could do it in an hour, I agreed to let them do it. Three hours later, I finally get called to the service desk to be told that the oil change was going to be free of charge because of the long wait. After I get home, I check the oil and find that it is still dirty and had not been changed at all! I confront them about this the next day, and they apologize and do finally change the oil, but as far as I'm concerned their credibility is shot. Conclusion: Avoid this dealership's service department if at all possible. UPDATE: So, it appears that the folks at Mainline Honda were getting a little touchy about a photo (an image of Jim Carey with "Liar, Liar" caption on it) I posted to complement/underscore my recounting of the lie they perpetrated on me the last time I had a car serviced there: that they claimed to have changed the oil on my car when they clearly had NOT (a fact I confirmed simply by checking the oil dip stick). SECOND UPDATE: Greg Brennan of Mainline Honda has now posted a comment (below) to this review, hoping to make amends. I have already noted above that they had apologized, BUT they did not take the time and the effort to correctly and thoroughly address the fundamental and CRUCIAL breach of trust between a business and its customer right then and there. When I asked to speak to the senior manager, I was told that he was not available. Even if that were true, Mr. Brennan should have called me back as soon as possible to discuss and address this problem. I was so shaken and disillusioned that I sold my Honda in order to avoid having to deal with this kind of behavior any more. The one star was for the sales rep. It would've been no starts if I can for the rude of the higher ups. They all friendly and all until you disagree with the price and said you don't want to buy the car they will just kick you right out without trying to negotiate. Very disappointing visit for service. 0. Despite having an appointment with a detailed description of the problem, upon my arrival, the service writers had no idea why I was there. 1. The parking lot is small & crowded. 2. The waiting room resembles a bus terminal. 3. The employees are indifferent, checked out, jaded and try to rip you. 4. Was charged $140 and requires over an hour of time to read a single computer code on the car. That's a 15 minute job. 5. Tried to bill you for a warranty repair. 6. Cashier charged more than the completed work order stated. 7. Found a filthy steering wheel when done. 8. Found my car sitting on the lot with the keys in it for a thief to drive off with it. When confronted, employees admit the dealership is a RIP OFF. As of today, Martin has 157 reviews on Yelp and an overall Yelp rating of TWO (2). Your business practices must really suck to earn a 2 rating overall by 156 reviewers. Yet Martin does not care. They are the only/sole Honda dealership on the Philadelphia Main Line so they can positively SUCK and still print money! How nice it must be for the Martin owners to have such a lousy dealership and get away with it? Well done! Their Porsche Macan Turbo was parked out front.
