Coach Gio and Kyle are always very helpful in ensuring the players practice their drills and understand the fundamentals of the sport while having fun and teaching them sportsmanship on an off the court. They offer travel games but also have in-house league games, so the kids learn offense and defense while working together as a team. BBA has also helped my son develop emotionally as a young man with the positive influence of his coaches. He was allowed to volunteer this summer and help coach the younger groups, which has only helped him love the game even more and understand the importance of mentorship. BBA not only has one of the nicest indoor basketball courts in Brooklyn, but it's also a great environment. They have built a community, not just an academy.

However, now they've decided to take away all late basketball open court hours and give it to basketball academy and adult pickleball. They only have late open court hours on Thursday night from 7 to 10PM which causes a large influx of people on one night and it's impossible to do anything. For comparison, late open courts hours used to be 3 to 4 times a week from 7 to 9PM. The gym also gets very crowded due to their limited machines and gear. They're pushing for more and more kid related activities and leave out young adults and adults. I would suggest signing up for the YMCA or another gym that's geared toward adults if you're not a parent.

It gets extremely crowded at peak times (morning-early afternoon) and, for people looking to play tennis, there are typically outdoor tennis lessons being run on 4 of the courts during the morning and afternoon hours, so it is doubly hard to find an open court early. Activity does die down somewhat in the late afternoon, but it's still a very busy area. As for the tennis court conditions, they are OK. The courts are a little beat up and in no way pristine, but they are still legitimate tennis courts with the correct dimensions. Also, if you're driving to McKinley Park, parking spots aren't typically extremely hard to find, but there are a lot of cars parked all around still.

At times older kids playing basketball at the other end does get rowdy and loud, but it doesn't last too long.
