I am writing to express my serious concerns regarding my experience with Nanette Masterson. During…read moremy session, I observed several behaviors that I found unprofessional and potentially harmful. Mrs. Masterson used her position to preach to me regarding her stance on the topic of homosexuality which she knew we disagreed with before ever meeting me. Although she knew this was a sensitive issue for me, she chose to take me as a client. She charged me for the session and then proceeded to berate me and my family. As a result of this experience, I terminated my sessions with Mrs. Masterson. I would strongly advise anyone seeking counseling services to carefully consider their options and thoroughly research potential therapists

Mary is kind, calming and very patient -- and smart. SHE GETS IT! She knows what she is doing…read more She has 35 years of experience in Houston, and she knows the mental health community too. After ONE VISIT, I was already making progress! I can't give her a high enough recommendation, but on a scale of 1 to 10 (with 10 being the highest rating), she is at least a 15! If you are fortunate enough to be accepted as a new patient, GO! After moving to Houston, I looked far and wide and tried various mental health professionals/LCSW's. None of them were up to the standards I was used to on the East Coast. I continued to search and found Mary Franz - THANK GOD! She is a true professional.

Dr. Villesca and her staff are very professional. The office is nice, everyone is very kind, and…read morethey take care of their patients. Dr. Villesca is understanding, and patient, and takes the time to answer all your questions and explain all test results. I had one of my children tested for 504/special ed when he was in 1st grade and she was great with him. Later, when my 11-year-old needed testing and she was on medical leave, I waited through an extended medical leave, just so I could have my child with someone I trust. Katy ISD told me they would pay for someone else, but I chose to wait it out. She is back in the office now, so waiting isn't necessary, BUT, SHE IS WORTH ANY WAIT. She and her staff work hard to meet their patient's schedules and needs and always do what is best for the child. She is calm, easy to understand, and both my children liked her. I definitely recommend Dr. Villesca and Katy Psychological Services.

After Eight Years: My Experience as a High‑Risk Psychiatric Patient…read more I have been a high‑risk psychiatric patient at Stone Creek since 2017. In May 2024, my therapist and I agreed via email to a follow‑up appointment. I disputed a $330 "no‑show" fee that was charged after a miscommunication around that appointment, and asked repeatedly--calmly and in writing--for direct communication and a resolution. At the same time, I was grieving my father's death and undergoing a medically high‑risk psychotropic taper supervised by my psychiatric nurse practitioner. My diagnoses include Bipolar I Disorder, Complex PTSD, Psychogenic Non‑Epileptic Seizures (PNES), and chronic migraine. My providers have documented that even minor stress can trigger seizures and clinical deterioration for me. Over the next several weeks, continuity of care effectively collapsed. Emails went unanswered or were routed through non‑clinical front desk staff. I was told my therapist "does not read" client emails. I repeatedly requested written communication only due to my seizure risk, but continued to receive phone calls instead of clear, direct responses in writing. When I requested my clinical records so I could safely transfer care, I encountered delay after delay. As of this writing, it has been months and I still do not have a complete copy of my treatment records from Stone Creek. I have since transitioned to a new therapist at a different practice, where email is used appropriately, records requests are handled promptly, and my documented medical risks are taken seriously. The contrast has been stark. Restoring Hope has also consistently worked with us financially--with and without insurance--to make care affordable in a way Stone Creek never did. I am sharing this experience specifically for other medically complex, high‑risk patients who are considering Stone Creek for psychiatric care. In my experience, this practice was not set up to provide reliable, coordinated care during a high‑risk taper, nor to handle conflicts and records requests in a timely, clinically appropriate way. I am still waiting for said records.

Linda Barnard's knowledge and methods have been a game changer. I recognize I have a lot of work…read moreyet to do. The speed and depth of progress with Linda's guidance have been tangible. I take information one week and come back with success stories of how I applied it the next week. I never thought I could make so many step changes at my age. Her mannerisms and demeanor are calming and build trust. Her methods use proven and accessible data. I can easily search online to reinforce my understanding each week. She has provided many sources and books as concrete examples of the data backing the methods. I have found her to be open, honest, and trustworthy. The most significant difference that I see in working with Linda vs others in the past is that she take the time to explain the "why" behind the method of healing. Understanding more about the mind and body connection has made a huge difference in my receptiveness to the new information.
