Our son is now 2.5-years-old, and might just be a budding musician thanks to his experience with Marsha's Music. Initially, it was nice to just get out of the house on the weekend (even in the middle of Chicago winters), be silly and ridiculous with other young families (and caregivers and grandparents), as well as gain some knowledge about how to incorporate music at home and on-the-go (the Music Together CDs are permanent staples in our car that's old enough to have a 6-disc CD player). Now that we've moved away and there's a pandemic that's made everything virtual for the foreseeable future, we STILL get to stay connected to our community - something that's made all of our transitions a bit more doable. Our son LOVES Marsha, and I'm pretty sure he thinks of her on level with his own grandparents (especially since they also now live in the small box that is FaceTime). He's become absolutely addicted to the songs, and has begun to make them his own as he sings them loudly, repeatedly, with instruments (namely percussion), and with his own flourish. Our only wish is that we could do it all in-person again soon. Still, Marsha and team have been remarkable in their adaptability, resilience, and ingenuity in keeping the virtual sessions fresh, engaging, and fun. Tye is excellent with children and at every lesson he kept my son's attention and keep him involved. Every lesson was fun, interactive, and always at the appropriate speed for my child's skill level. The school also hosts multiple recitals each year allowing students (no matter the skill level) perform for family and friends. The recitals are always a confidence booster for my 7 year old! He gets a little nervous in the beginning but is always ready for the performance.

I visited this place for a friend's sons 5th birthday. It looked small from the outside but it's a…read moregood size for a private party for one group. They had a couple of long folding tables and chairs when you first walk in. There's a basketball shooting game and a large connect four game. There's also a couple of chairs and tvs where you can watch a movie or play video games. I was able to relive my childhood Mortal Kombat game for a bit before a small child wanted to take over. In the other room there is a wall of nerf guns with 'soft' bullets. I say soft but they kinda hurt coming at you at a certain speed from a gun. Good thing they had safety glasses! A few of the kids had fun shooting at each other and running around. All around a cute little entertainment place. Well maintained and clean. The music playing when we walked in was loud and contained swear words, which is inappropriate for a kids place. It continued until eventually one of the guests asked to take over with her music; which ironically wasn't any better. Haha. I would suggest playing Kidz Bop?
