I've seen positive changes in my son's musical abilities already. Outside of class his singing and rhythm are noticeably better and he seems to pay attention to individual sounds and patterns in songs. Even without these musical benefits, it is just a nice family bonding time. We take class with Miss Angie - she is awesome! She is sweet, and caring, very talented and our children just love her. We've had other substitute teachers on occasion, and they're ok, but Miss Angie is really one step above. The only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because their class hours aren't as friendly for working parents as I'd like. Most classes for toddlers take place on weekday mornings...and we are on a forced vacation for the summer right now.. Although we've been able to find a spot in class, our last session felt almost too crowded sometimes. Other than that, we love this class :)

It's something I look forward to every week and he is excited when he figures out that's where we are going (he's 17 mo). In addition to what we do at home and what he does in day care 2 days a week, the class has supported his learning body and face parts, motor skills, the basics of music, and I'm sure there's more that I'm not fully aware of yet. Super excited to see him continue with the classes and see what else he learns.

Jeff is an exceptional teacher--patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in his students' success. I've made tremendous progress thanks to his guidance. One thing I especially appreciate is that he's always willing to answer my endless music theory questions and has even helped me explore my interest in piano tuning. His passion for music goes far beyond just teaching students how to play. Cappelli Music has a friendly, welcoming atmosphere, and it's clear that everyone there cares about providing a great learning experience. I highly recommend Jeff and Cappelli Music to anyone looking for high-quality music instruction.

I completely lucked out when I found this place…read more.. There was some piano music I'd heard that I really really wanted to learn to play, but could never find the sheet music. I literally walked in with my ipod and asked if they could transcribe it for me. They did and then gave me lessons to learn it! A month or so later, I was playing the music I had loved so much for so long. This was pretty much a dream come true for me. Since then I've been taking weekly lessons. It's hard to describe how easy it was to start doing something so fulfilling. It takes a lot of practice, but it's fun and there's no pressure. Learn whatever you like to play at your own pace with super nice people. I would recommend ACM to anyone who's even thinking of learning piano. Treat yourself to lessons from passionate, talented, friendly people.

They had a live ensemble, craft brews and dogs. Pretty much everything a girl could ask for. BUT THEN during the Ear Taxi festival I noticed ACM also performed a free concert at the Cultural Center. AND THEN!! My friends and I went to Open House Chicago and there was an ensemble playing in some of the buildings... IT WAS ACM. Basically everywhere in the city. It's insane. Seems like something in the universe is trying to tell me something; only, I have two left hands so I don't think I'll be learning to play an instrument anytime soon. TL;DR: Check out the website for events/cool way to impress people.

Now 6 months later they follow directions, they sit for circle time, and love Senora Maria Emilia. They see the same classmates and the class keeps growing. I take them Saturday mornings from 9:30am- 12:30pm not only do they get to eat lunch there but it is a great BREAK for me to run errands and enjoy the famers marker without two 2 yr. old toddler twins. When they initially started going like any other child they would cry for Mommy, Maria Emilia asked me to stay in the lobby and she would call me if any assistance was needed. There were a few times where I had to sit in class with them to help ease the separation anxiety. Now they run into class when the door opens! The kids love Beth at the front desk and this place gives you a good home feeling. I would recommend this program to any parent particularly twin mommies... Kind and courteous staff (director included!). The teachers (+ the Concordia student teachers who worked at the center as part of their "work-study" they told me) seemed to enjoy what they do & have a love of working w/ children in general. Throughout my observations /lesson plan implementation, the teachers (+ student teachers) spoke to the children in a kind, age-appropriate manner and did fun activities. The smaller class size didn't hurt either =more individual attention w/ the children; good number of hands to help out in the classroom! In addition to structured activities, it was nice to see the children have open play time as well. Going on campus walks with the children was also a treat for everyone. I moved to Chicago and got away from performing and singing while I focused on my corporate day job. I missed the arts. My voice was out of shape. I googled voice lessons near me. Cantabile School of Voice and Piano popped up, so, I reached out. The owner, Erica, is very responsive and organized. She paired me with my first choice voice teacher, Matthew Recio. Matthew is an outstanding teacher. He listens. He challenges me. He communicates very clearly. He's honest with me. He plays piano very well, too. It's been just a few months and I can feel and hear very positive differences in my singing. Lessons are fun and rewarding. I'm impressed. Prices are very reasonable, considering the level of training I'm receiving. The location of the school is convenient. I feel very lucky to have stumbled upon this school. If you're thinking of finding a new music teacher, consider this review a firm push to reach out to Erica. See for yourself if Cantabile School of Voice and Piano is the right choice for you. I've improved my voice, gained confidence, learned some life lessons, and had a lot of fun along the way. Two things that stand out to me about Erica: (1) She is an EDUCATOR. Erica has a degree in Vocal Performance AND Music Education, and it's very clear she is an expert in both content (voice) and process (learning pedagogy). She is incredibly intentional in her selection and pacing of vocal exercises, concepts, and techniques to ensure they meet me where I'm at as a singer and learner. She encourages open dialogue about the learning process and we make adjustments to meet my learning needs and style along the way. I have confidence that she could teach anyone at any level. (2) She creates the perfect environment and conditions for learning. Singing in front of others is scary for me, but I feel totally comfortable trying new things, making mistakes, asking questions, and expressing how I'm feeling about the learning process with Erica. She makes it fun, interesting, and infuses a lot of joy into our lessons. Very highly recommend Erica and the Cantabile School (I hear the other instructors are fabulous too)!
