She was extremely helpful and polite when I was in looking for clothes for my Niece's birthday. It did not appear to be her department - she was working on socks - but she was helpful and kind. She even showed me a few things that she thought a little 5 year old girl would like. She waited until I was satisfied nad did not immediately leave - something I have experience at other Meijer stores and especially at places like Walmart. The second person I wanted to shout-out to was named Tim and he was my check-out person. He was very fast and very friendly even though I was going crazy trying to get everything on the conveyer belt. He was polite and chatted nicely while I put my stuff on the belt. It can, however, get bottle necked in certain aisles when people have carts and don't scoot over to let you pass. I also like the fact that they have streamlined their check-out so you don't have to jockey for a register. It absolutely runs smoothly and no one gets upset because they are behind someone with a return or a lot of items. If they check-out line does get long, I hear them paging for other sales associates to come to the front to help. One thing I have noticed in my past visits are how friendly the sales associates are. I had at least 4 say "Hi, Thanks for shopping at TJ's" when they walked by me and the cashiers also seem to be happier asking me how my shopping experience was, did I find everything, etc. I don't know what training TJ Maxx is giving their employees, but it appears to be making a huge difference. You never know what you will find at TJ Maxx and that is one reason I really like this store.
