Today the cashier had the hiccups while she talked to me during the entire transaction. She should have taken a break. I would say it is rude.

When I explained to Mr. MVP what we were doing on Saturday morning he immediately groaned because he does not like consignment stores. Admittedly, the clothing we had to sell was much more conservative (Lands End, LL Bean, Eddie Bauer) then the items in the store, the items we brought in were in much better shape then the clothes we saw on the racks in the store. While our clothing was reviewed for its worthiness we looked around the shop and I noticed the prices were insanely high. A pair of (obviously) used calf high Bogs rain boots for $28. My brand new knee high Bogs with a lifetime guarantee were just $36 on sale. There was also a pair of Vans sneakers for $22, which is crazy! Brand new Van sneakers are $27. What sucks is that this shop had a lot of options in my size - small and extra small - but the clothing was so overpriced it just did not make sense. The shop is clean and fairly well organized, which is why we are giving it two stars. We took our rejected and out of date clothing and happily donated all of them to the American Cancer Center Thrift store next door.

Everywhere you look you find Gryffindor or Slytherin stuff but never Hufflepuff and rarely Ravenclaw. I was so pumped. I am always shocked at the prices however- $50 for the sweater I was dying to have. Maybe next time dear sweater, maybe next time. I am a enamel pin collector so I always stop at the displays that are chalked full with them since they are trendy right now. There are lots of places to get enamel pins now but I do always stop to look because they tend to have pop culture ones. If you ever cant find what you're looking for you can always go online or to their sister store Box Lunch (there arent any locally but there is an online store. Closest one I think in South Bend Indiana) Hot Topic has changed a bit since I was in high school and I was neck deep in the emo/goth culture but I still enjoy stopping. Was in Portage and my wife asked me to return a few items. Bag, tags, receipt, all as originally…read morepurchased. After everything was scanned the clerk asked for the card it was purchased with. I didn't have my wife's debit card. I was told it was their "store policy" to have the card present or they can issue a merchandise return card. I told her since it was a debit card to just give me cash- "not possible" This is a scam to avoid return $ I was told they need the card because "sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't" I word worry about the website security of a company with that many stores has IT so antiquated they cannot make a return with a receipt to the original form of payment.
