I have fond memories of going to see dinosaur eggs at Northgate Mall and also of visiting Santa Claus as a child. I remember when it was, for all intents and purposes, a dead mall. Now, it is something in between. There is a wing that is very well occupied. There is another wing that is almost entirely empty. The new cinemas look great, although, I haven't been to see a movie in them. My brother has, however, and he says it is his new favorite. If you go expecting an experience like Kenwood Mall, you will be disappointed. On the other hand, if you go without expectations in hand, I think you will be surprised by the progress it has made. I hope it is able to sustain this progress moving forward.

The potrait studio was the reason for our visit. While being completely empty, the photographer seemed to be in a bit of a hurry to more from pose to pose. She did get one shot that was perfect, so I guess I shouldn't complain. The guy who showed me the pictures had a sales pitch for EVERY photo, and enhanced photo there was. With antsy children, I would have preferred he let me just look at the images. His sales pitches took longer than the actual photo shoot. If you don't come armed with a coupon, groupon, or living social deal, be prepared to pay a pretty penny. Unlike some other studios, one must return in 2 weeks for one's prints. The prints seem to be of higher quality than the ones from the instant print places. The wait is worth having images where the colors hold true. I would, and plan to use the studio's services again. As to the rest of the JC Penny. Their "door buster" deals were great. Regular priced merchandise was a bit pricy. This location is only one story. They try to cram a lot in the space they have. Some areas were cramped.

I wanted to say something but the wife said no and we just left. The Saphora inside was awesome, set my wife up for a makeover and she had a wonderful time and the employee was so nice and treated my wife like a queen, she knew her job and did outstanding explaining to my wife what she was doing, why she was doing it, the different kinds of make stuff. Very professional. We only go there for saphora now. Shame.

It's not like a Kroger Plus card where you need it to get advertised prices, though. Instead, it just kind of accumulates points for the money you spend there and when you hit a certain mark you get a reward of some sort. Not sure what it is. And if you fill in your email address they send you special "members only" coupons and sale adverts. The stuff at Ollie's is already super-cheap, so 20% off of super-cheap is, like, super-duper-cheap. I'm a fan!

The store has become like an episode of hoarders. There are multiple aisles that you can't even get…read moredown. There's so much crap. Just shoved on temporary stocking racks. If you ask for help, they stand like a deer in headlights and just say things like there should be some we might have some.... And I know it's a discount store, but it is filthy!
