Words cannot describe how horrible and disorganized this place is. They never have good items like the other Chicago locations and it is hard to find parking without losing a mirror or getting a dent. This place is incredibly dirty inside too. This store is dirty and unorganized. I walk in hopeful to find a good deal and leave disgusted. The customer service is horrendous and rude. On our latest and what will be our last visit to this store my husband was searching for a dress shirt. He attempted to take 4 of them into the fitting room to make sure they were the right size and fit. The fitting room attendant rudely told him he was only allowed to open one of them. He told her fine take these shirts you won't be getting my business. The lady gave him a rude look and answer back. Dress shirts come in various fits and if a shirt has made it all the way to clearance odds are it could be a mis size. The store wants my husband to buy 4 or 5 shirts try them on at home and return them instead??? This is just one example of the bad customer service at this store. read more

I had an emergency and needed a dress for a wedding the following day. The rental dress I had ordered ended up looking like a garbage bag. Normally I don't shop here but I was getting off of work and it was my only option aside from target. I got there 45 min before closing and must've tried on 15 dresses. The lady at the fitting room wasn't even annoyed in the slightest. I even joked with her and apologized about trying on so many things so late. I'm a bartender so story of my life = everyone wants something when it's almost time for me to leave work. ANYWAY, I found a great dress here! Can I write a review for Marshalls merchandisers? I picked this location because this is where I had my most recent run in with yet another "high end, low priced" buyer beware purchase, so this review is about the product, not the store. And just so you don't have to read this ridiculous long review unless you want to, here's my executive summary: Marshalls has great designer options at bargain prices because when great designers screw up their products' assembly they still try to sell it off. And I have now learned that Marshalls (and probably TJ Maxx) are frequent visitors to the island of misfit products. And now... The first remorseful purchase occurred last year when I purchased a pair of tan LK Bennet pumps. Oh, I thought, how lucky I was to find the same shoes that Kate Middleton wears here in Marshalls (the one off Mag Mile) for about $100. And it was my birthday so I easily justified the priceyness of the shoes "every girl aiming for classic style" should own. First mistake: thinking I was getting a deal. No more than TWO wears later (which in my tolerance for high heel pain schedule equals 3 months between wears) and I noticed the bottom of the shoes were molting. Yes, molting. Like the activity a snake takes part in when it's growing new skin. Unfortunately, no new skin grew underneath to cover the molting skin coming off the shoes' bottoms. I couldn't bear to wear them again and sit down at public events, cross my legs and have people look at my shoes only to see a bunch of ugly, widening blisters on the bottom of my shoes. I thought about repairing them but wanted to see if I could just make an exchange. Unfortunately, I threw my receipt out -- I wanted these shoes, I never thought I'd want to return them nor did I know I was buying a defunct pair. So I asked the cashier if anyone had been returning these pairs of shoes for their obvious bad investment in shoe sealant. She was short with me and didn't answer my question but said that unless I had my receipt there was nothing she could do. Ugh...lesson learned. Or so I thought. Recently, at this Marshalls, I bought a nice black "designer standard" Calvin Klein purse for $130. This was to replace the purse I'd been using for almost two years so I thought, "Yeah, it's time. Go big!" $130 may not seem big for purse purchases, but it is for me. I always think four times over before spending more than $100 on any one item. So there I was at an event today when I noticed the seam where the base of the purse meets the side had broken and the leather was torn! I took it to a shoe repair shop and I'll know next week if I made a bad decision to pay $40 to repair rather than go back and fight for the return (without my receipt...yes, I know, my mother brought me up better!). What have I learned from these two experiences? Aside from keeping receipts, I learned never to "go big" at Marshalls. It's not worth it. Their merchandisers are buying poorly assembled designer products and selling them at "bargain" prices when these products should have been stopped at quality control and red-tagged. They should have never made it to the shelf. So designer-on-budget buyer beware. You and your falling apart pocketbook will be disappointed. PS - Sorry to this Marshalls for negatively influencing your star rating. I couldn't find Marshalls corporate to review. read more

Great deals in this store. Located in a strip mall in the De Paul area. Found my swimsuit cover ups, yoga mat, some shorts, nail polish, and gummy bears all in the same store. They also had decent prom dresses for anyone who might be looking. read more

I swear there is always a long line and not enough cashiers. You would think after 2 years of this, management or corporate would care enough to address these issues. There has been numerous times where customers have just left while i was in line - complaining with no regards from the team. TJMaxx across the street is better managed and always takes care of the customer first. read more

This Marshall is just so so. One of the benefits of this location is that there is a parking lot and you do not have to use street parking. Items were just thrown together on the shelves and it lacked organization. Oh nooo! The situation at Marshalls is devolving back to where it was before the remodeling! Oh noooo! I went in looking for a coat and found the sizes completely scrambled. The back up of junk was starting to accumulate on shelves to where you have to sift through broken and open packages to get to the good stuff. As of today I would give this place zero stars if I could! I had encountered a really gross incident there. I picked up a pair of yoga pants to try on I saw a tag didn't think anything of it. I was going to try them on in the fitting room until I discovered, they had a hole and they had a strong horrible smell of urine!! How disgusting don't they check what the heck they are hanging up for customers to touch and look at. So wait it gets better, no! I approached the manager and a group of 6 other employees huddled up in between some racks. I told him what I found and how can his staff ignore something like that as they return clothes to the racks, either A they don't care or be they don't know what they are doing as for items to be looked at?!?? I'm totally repulsed. All the manager could tell me was sorry and they had know idea. Listen tip to the store, try to inspect your rack items especially if they reek of a urine smell!!!! Ugh I'm not coming back here. They lost a solid customer who shopped every week here. This store needs a major clean up!! I am ALWAYS a fan of shopping. Especially when its thrift store style shopping but instead of old, worn out and stained clothes its random new clothes at discounted prices. This store is dirty, unorganized, and smelly. The fitting rooms reek. Can you please get some air moving? I was waiting in line and the line was 5 deep. Another clerk came up to help and the manager instead of opening another register started cleaning up instead of checking out. My mom is the cheapest person in the world, and I hated it when I was younger. But I have turned into her now that I am trying to survive on my own. I went to Old Navy across the way to try and find some cheap pants for work, and had never been to a Marshall's before. So I walk in and it reminds me of a place at home called Value City. Everything there is the leftover or reject stuff from name brand places. I saw Escada perfume for $20, hand weights for $6, professional straightening irons for $10, Nexxus hair products for $5, a Puma watch for $20, many gourmet food items, good kitchen appliances for cheap, and a lot of other stuff for a discount price. I was in heaven! Whoever thought to put all this once-expensive stuff into one building and lower the price by more than half is my hero. Ok so maybe it's not as spotlessly clean as Bloomingdales, or maybe you have to dig to find what you're looking for. And I will admit their clothes aren't the greatest. But knowing that I saved money and don't have to stress if I can afford rent makes me very happy. read more

Very unfriendly staff in fitting room! I was shopping with my little daughter (she is 3 years old). We took several funny stuff like piggy silicone spatula, froggy tea bags, etc. Then I picked a nice black hat and a dress and was going to fit it. My daughter was with me in a stroller holding all those funny items we selected before. A lady in a fitting room requested to leave those items off the fitting room because my daughter "will play them"(!) . Almost instantly she started to grab the items right from my daughter's hands, and did not stop before completed this awful action! Of course my daughter started to cry, she was very upset, and it took me a while to calm her. The worst experience with fitting room service I've ever had! read more

I shopped at this Marshalls earlier today, and I must say that different departments have different employees with different attitudes. Throughout the store, I noticed that the employees look upset and/or not happy to be working there. The only department that I felt welcome at, was the Shoe Department. There was a gentleman working in that department. I have never seen him before. He's a tall, skinny, Hispanic male. He greeted me and asked if I needed any assistance.
