Marshalls has 89% made in China hardly anything made in the USA so I no longer shop for clothes there. If I buy anything there, it'll be linens and cosmetics and sea salt bath. And the long lines to always check out are ridiculous so they need more employees. read more

OMG I never go to Marshalls. I always go to Ross, but I was close so I went there because I needed a meat scale and I couldn't find one so I asked this gentleman. His name was Andrew. What a wonderful person. I will shop there if he works there he was great. He was very nice very well spoken and was determined to find me one and we did it was awesome so kudos to him wonderful man thank you Andrew for that fine find read more

I wish I knew the young woman's name at counter but she was so patient with on my Marshall points today she has dark hair and I think on register 6 or 7. Really nice to see such a good employee as my checkout was a little difficult just never seen such patience from people anymore so hope you get noticed at work for your amazing people skills. read more

This Marshalls is great. It is always full of treasures to find. From clothing and shoes for the entire family to home decor, beauty and self-care It really is a one stop shop for giftgiving whether it be for friends and family or for yourself. I really enjoy going there for their pet section. There's always a wide selection of toys, treats, clothing, options, and other dog and cat products for the furry friends in your life. If you are a plus size man or woman, they do have a decently sized section for you. This is super big as most stores like this either don't carry plus size or only have a handful of pieces for plus size people to choose from. The lines can get, but the employees are really good about getting people on registers, so that customers can get in and out without being in line for too long. I love this place and I will continue to go back over and over again. read more

Went to the Marshall's at the Arroyo Grande location and the store was wonderful. However, the service personnel at the dressing room, an older short filipino woman was extremely rude! I tried one shirt on and when I walked out of the dressing room, I handed her the number card and told her I'm taking the shirt. She then DEMANDED that I walk back and bring out the hanger because she is too busy and has no time to get it!!! She then made me drape the shirt on the clothing rack just so she can see that I brought out the one shirt I tried on. I was fuming and left! Needless to say, it will be my last time going to that store. read more

Affordable. Organized. Updated. Clean. Friendly. Reasonable availability. Convenient hours.

I think this Marshalls when it has all of the checkout stands open is way better than the Marshalls in Santa Barbara who only opens a few checkout stands most of the time. There is a great selection of discounted skincare and hair care items that you would see at Sephora or on Ipsy. I usually just look for hello kitty items or some of my favorite brands which I usually do not find lately because more and more people are shopping here. read more

Marshalls - Valentine's Day cute valentines - Department Stores Near Me - Arroyo Grande, California

This is our default local higher end discount store for things that are way overpriced at either other stores, or even on Amazon. For some reason, the Clearance section is quite variable. Sometimes you find quite a few treasures, like 1/2 priced Olive Oil infused with Truffle essence, or fragrant Shampoos/Conditioners at a discount. You really have to go by what you know is a good bargain [price per oz.], rather than what the so-called "original price" was. It is important to check the integrity of both clearance & non-clearance items before you buy. While they seemed to have a nice clearance cutting board, it was cracked lengthwise on the other side, which negates it for use as a cutting board. While most items are not as close to the expire date as in the Grocery Outlet, it is wise to double check, or avoid things that are questionable. As for the store itself, since it is a bit more of in a local non-touristed area, it feels more relaxed, and the employees are almost always friendly and pleasant. The store is well maintained, generally well organized, and far enough from the crazy busy Walmart anchor store in this plaza to avoid fighting for a spot. It seems that mostly locals shop here since it is miles away from the majority of the local motels/hotels. If you do want a good quick snack or other decent eats, you have a Blaze Pizza here, as well as, a Trader Joes in this complex. Even though they do have way for you to email yourself a receipt, they are cool about giving you store credit for a return or two. The only problem is that one can get snagged by all the goodies in a clearance section and save lots of money, as you pull out your CC to spend a hundred or two, on so-called bargains. Clearances at all these type of stores [and others] are best after major holidays. We snagged up to 90% off at our local Rite Aid & one Big Lots store. The only problem is where to store your treasure till the next holiday! Even though TJX, Marshalls, Home Goods have a common corp. owner each store varies in prices and selection. The two Ross's in our immediate area generally have far inferior items, but are good for lower priced holiday chocolates and candies. read more

My favorite local discount store. They always have really cute holiday items, and pretty good quality on almost everything. I like that dogs are allowed (as long as they are on a leash or in the shopping cart). The staff is always very friendly, and I appreciate that! FYI, they have a dog potty area on the side of the building with plenty of grass, and a waste bag dispenser. Thank you for that! I like going for the snacks, dog supplies, home decorations, and hot sauces. They also have really cute notebooks and planners for good prices. read more

Tina was super helpful & extremely sweet. Went out of her way to help me out. Even the store manager was awesome. Also, good selection at this location! read more

This store has the filthiest bathroom I've ever seen! Don't go in there, you might catch something. It ALWAYS smells of sulfur, even outside the door in the hallway. There is feces spread toilet paper on the floor, toilets unflushed that looks like somebody vomited... it's totally gross! On another note....NEVER enough checkers! The lines are horrific any given time of day! read more

This place is okay, defiantly not the clean quality Marshall's I'm used to. Whatever you do don't use the bathroom; literally urine and feces on the floor. This bathroom clearly isn't checked regularly and I'm not surprised as the rest of the store is pretty dirty. read more

Never thought I would be writing this about Marshalls, however I had a terrible experience. My niece was shopping where the handbags were then a sales associate takes the bag from her and says it has to be kept in front. That is understandable I don't have a problem with that. I did have a problem when she found my niece in the store in a different area telling her we can't hold it overnight. My niece then says we can purchase it now if the store is closing mind you it's 6:26. Then we bought a hello kitty mirror and the associate then made several comments about us purchasing the mirror. Overall a strange experience the only reason I have two stars is because the manager was very professional and had great customer service. read more

This store finally got rid of the worst store manager!!! As a shopper now i might feel comfortable going back to shop. Not only was Mr. LEWIS rude to us customers but I also seen him being rude to his staff...could only imagine what stories they have. read more

I visit at least 12 different Marshalls throughout California. Clean nice store w a big selection. The cash register s are SLOWER than any Marshalls I've ever been too. Train train & open all of the registers -- like other Marshalls in California do !!!!! PLease .....!!!! read more

Updated report after last time bad employee experience with being yelled at about a mask which I apparently didn't put on fast enough for the outdoor monitor. The gals on the floor try to assist with better than average help. Easy return, but had to wait in long line just to drop off & get cash back. Not a big deal but, wondered why they don't have a special line for returns like other stores since the lines here are always so long. Would eliminate unnecessary waiting. read more

Great store with lots of options for everyone in the family. Discounted designer clothing and cheaper brands for cheap. In addition they have furniture, bedding, food, cookware and more. But beware of the line at checkout....plan on waiting at least 20min. You may get lucky and make it out quick but the last 4 times I have been here I have had to wait a very long time. read more

Marshalls - Department Stores Near Me - Arroyo Grande, California

I love this store. Really, I do. It is located in the Walmart shopping center in Arroyo Grande. They have great hours, plenty of parking, they are near amenities like Trader Joe's, Food 4 Less, the movies, In and Out Burger, so you could stop in and do all kinds of time wasting! The store itself is full of bargains. Some times you find a lot, some times a little. They have name brand handbags and clothing at discounted prices. They have make up, hair products, perfumes, phone accessories, a little of everything. I was shopping today for stocking stuffers and some gifts for Christmas. They had chocolates, nuts, small items for stockings. They have something for every budget. Sometimes the store gets pretty busy. You may have to wait in line to check out for a few minutes. It doesn't bother me one bit. I have found the staff friendly and helpful. I will say that you should make sure to keep your receipt if you aren't sure about an item. I have never taken anything back for an exchange or refund, but I have heard from someone else that they had a hard time returning a gift that was the wrong size. I shop here regularly, so I'll be back! read more

I was shopping when this lady Reta was so protective and annoying. Everything I was looking at she asks me "are you going to buy it" if not put it back. On 6/28/22 I was sitting on a chair she came up to me and said " are you going to buy it" I said no than she said you cant be sitting on it. I'm sad to say this but this used to be my favorite store and now she made me hate coming to Marshalls. read more

One of the least liked Marshalls - the store is not clean nor organized with empty shelves and racks. Rarely can I find anything of interest because it is all well picked over - seems like this location rarely gets stocked with better quality new stuff. Parking is plentiful but the pickings are not. read more

I was visiting from down south and figured I would walk around while I waited for my dad to get ready. I always love checking out Marshall's in other areas, and this place did not disappoint! Ugh, I spent $300 in 45 minutes. They had awesome stuff for Father's day, I found an amazing deal on a Fossil purse, I got stuff for camping/beach trips, and even a few pairs of clothes for myself. I walked from my hotel so had to leave the items on hold while I went to get my car. They were very helpful and really sweet. A great find with great selection all around. read more

When clothing time comes (usually once every year or two) or a special occasion comes (ex: wedding), I always check Marshalls first before checking other stores. In most cases, this store ends up becoming my one stop place. Staff at this store is so-so, but with how much I'm saving for name brand clothes at near Wal-Mart prices, I can tolerate it. Sure, I'll see tags that read "last season" but I'm a guy. I just want something comfortable to wear, not something fashionable. read more

I can in for a quick browse. It was a huge mess. Everything seemed opened and taken apart. I give it 3 stars since I've been in here before and it hasn't been so messy. The line was crazy long, and I decided to leave because of I did find something I wanted to buy I knew I didn't want to wait in that line. read more

I have seen expensive stuff lave polo Ralph Lauren and more it is like $12 for that tipe of shirt

Actually, my rating is actually around 2.5 stars, but since Yelp doesn't do half ratings, I have to round up. Having said that, Marshalls is pretty much the same as Ross. The layout is slightly different in the sense that I didn't see much of a jewelry or perfume counter here. But the shoes, apparel, toys, candles, etc. are all here. Apparently the merchandise comes from overstock by different stores. For instance, I found a golf shirt that came from the now-bankrupt Steve & Barry's and other clothes that are considered in-house Macy's brands! However, the selection is limited (it's smaller than Ross), and so are the deals. And the selection sometimes comes in colors I wouldn't want to wear (like a combo of red, white, and yellow shoes). So...yeah. Otherwise, if you can't find what you want at Ross, this place is your smaller alternative. read more

This is my go to store for shopping. Yes, the checkout line is often incredibly long but i guess I don't shop when I'm in a rush so it's never been a huge issue for me. The workers go as fast as they can and I've never had anyone be unpleasant, so I'd recommend it! read more

Love Marshall's it's a favorite of my wife and I. Always deals can be found. Good selection on phone accessories. Men's items are priced reasonably well. My wife loves their selection and price of their lotions and bath products. read more

I love this Marshalls! I always find something even when I'm even just "window shopping." Came in for ceramic pots and none were tagged, they gave me a deal of $14.99 each. Sold!! My only complaint is the slow checkout. Those complaining about returns should know to keep your receipts. read more

I had bought a shirt impulsively and after I had bought it I realized there was a small hardly noticeable stain. When I took it back to return it, I had the receipt and they insisted the shirt was not there's as if I was lying when clearly I had the receipt in hand and they refused to take it back. Customer service definitely sucked (at a lack of a better word) and I will definitely not be coming back. I'd rather pay full price than deal with that shit again! read more

To come in the store you have to wear a mask, but to shop people are not wearing them. I don't know what's with all these Karens not following a simple rule. And it doesn't seem like the store is enforcing people to cover their mouths when they have their masks under their double-chins. read more

It seems this store has some sort of scam going. Attempted to return items purchased there. Kept the receipts, yet this is the third time they claim it is not the right receipt and they must issue a store credit. It doesn't add up and to make matters worse the cashiers are rude and unprofessional. It is officially a third rate store now. read more

This store is great and has a great selection. I don't get much service here which I don't mind I like that I'm being left alone, I get greeted at the door and again on my way out. I didn't have any complaints about this place up until I had an encounter with this older lady who gave me the worst experience I've ever had as a costumer. My daughter lost her glove, mind you my daughter is 2 years old, and I simply asked what was done with lost and found items, the young man ringing me up asked the older lady next to him and this lady not only rolled her eyes at me and talked to me in a nasty tone, she angrily called for a search party (which I was not expecting nor did I ask for) when I told her they did not need to look for it she said that if they did not look for it that the janitor would just sweep it up and throw it away in the morning. So be careful, don't let your babies drop anything here because they just throw it away apparently. read more

This was one of the worst (laughable) experiences of my life. I went to buy my daughter an outfit for her birthday. We had the 15 month old baby with us. I also had 2 things to return from a previous shopping spree, a pair of shoes and flannel PJ's. We found the perfect party outfit and went to pay. I gave the staff my receipt and returns (must be noted here that the receipt had over $400 worth of purchases as my husband was beefing up his business armor). The clerk took my returns to the back counter. After 5 minutes, she came and said I did not have the Jammie's on the receipt. I told her to look at the tag. She said there was not one. I told her to look again or give it back to me to find it. She went back to the counter. She called over 2 other checkers as they conferred over my receipt and Jammie's. The baby at this point was beginning to melt down and the line behind me was growing. She came back and said, I did not purchase the PJ's there. I knew I did, as they never made it in the house after the purchase. I asked for the receipt again. She then replied "We have never carried these PJ's, you must of bought them at the flea market and are trying to rob us". Excuse me? Then the other checks chimed in from there stations, for all in line to hear, "We have not carried those in the 2 years I worked here, it is a scam, etc". I was mortified. I asked for the manager and my receipt back. She told me I had to get out of line. I refused. The manager came, conferred for 10 minutes with the hens at the back counter and then came and announced to me, "I am siding with my checkers here, you didn't buy this from us, it is clearly a scam". I asked and got the receipt back. The last item on the reciept was Lingerie. I showed them and said, "there it is". The manager said that PJ's are not lingerie, get out of line NOW. Since when are Pajama's not found in the Lingerie section? This woman was epically wrong. I left the line and went to my car where I found the tag for the PJ's. Seething I went back and got in line. When I arrived, the checkers called for the manager. I showed her my tag and she huffed her way thru the return. I asked for an apology and she told me she was not required to give one. Really? You accuse someone of stealing, are completely wrong and you don't have to give a simple "I'm sorry'? Clearly this staff needs some customer service training. read more

I really only like coming to Marshalls for specifics like small decorative items and kitchen ware. I personally don't care to shop here for clothing and shoes for reasons that don't really matter for a review and I feel like their art and holiday decor prices run a little too high which is too bad because they have the cutest art and holiday items. I do love that they keep an isle dedicated to clearance items though. This particular store is always very clean and organized. read more

I came in on a Saturday evening to return an item which I had bought before I moved to the area. The lady that helped us was very nice and quick with the return. After receiving the store gift card because we didn't have the receipt for our return I decided to look around the store. I mainly come to Marshall's to shop for home items. Honestly really enjoyed how well stocked this location was. The prices was fairly decent and I feel like it was cheaper than what I find up north. As I was checking out another cashier helped us out this time around. This cashier had made a comment to her coworker earlier about how she loves helping the customers they get in the store because they're all so great. She sounded very friendly. Once I was in line and it was my turn to go up to the counter this particular cashier barely signaled for me go up to the counter. I just went up because she looked at me. When I got to the counter she did not greet me instead she just began scanning my items. After she stated my total and I paid all my items just sat on the counter waiting for me to pick them up to leave. Understandable that there are laws that doesn't allow free bags. I would have been ok with paying $0.10 for 1 bag since I did purchase quite a bit of stuff that required more than 2 hands to carry. The cashier didn't care to ask if we wanted to purchase a bag. After she gave me my receipt she just stood there waiting for us to grab our things to leave. Simple thank you would have been nice to hear but nope. She needs to be retrained on her customer service skills. I was happy with what I found in this store but the customer service will not make me eager to come back. I'll check out Ross next time or go to Marshalls in NorCal where customer service I receive is always great. read more

Great value. Everything half off. Always worth a try to see if they have what you're looking for.

Stopped by here on the way back from SB. Pretty clean. Not that many options to choose from.
