After several months of doing most of the work ourselves we were exhausted and faced with an impossible deadline. I went out on a limb and tried craigslist and found Travis aka "Honest Work." I had no idea what to expect because we had a few bad experiences with other people found on CL. BUT, WOW. Travis is AMAZING! We would have DIED without him! He is just awesome!!! He knows how to do pretty much everything and is well connected to other tradesmen whom he happily referred us to here and there if he was too busy when our timelines were tight - all the guys he referred to us were reliable, honest and pleasant to have around. Oh and did I mention, Travis and the others he recommended were all REASONABLY priced. Work was done right and on time! If anything needed touch up after it was finished Travis fixed it. Plus, he shows when he says he'll show and he is also willing to work alongside the homeowner which almost all the other contractors that gave us their ridiculously high bids were not willing to do. Couldn't have been happier! Highly recommend.

The tile job included making cuts in hardwood flooring to have the tile and flooring meet exactly - it looks perfect. Everyone Travis sent was polite and skilled at their professions. Travis provided a high degree of communication and responsiveness. A+ and the name says it all, "Honest Work."

He had no idea what had been quoted and said "well, I'm not sure that this will help much" and "I'm not sure what that product is that they quoted you, can you spell that for me"? Also, "These guys are new and they are trying to get established so they were probably just selling the job". So I told Gary that I wanted to cancel and asked for my refund and when 10 plus hours went by and they did not refund me, I disputed the charge with PayPal. Then I get a text from them saying they aren't going to refund me, but they would follow PayPal protocol which could take 90 days! What a ridiculous company! I will be filing fraud charges with my bank, filing a complaint with the BBB and will make sure these guys pay me back! TERRIBLE COMPANY! STAY AWAY!

This repair turned out to be more complex which required more work and time.  The team worked with efficiently and expertise.    Clean up was  better than they found it!  Andre and Sergie were very likable and easy with.  Overall cost was more than fair.  I've worked with many contractors and I put TrueWest (one word) at the top of my list.

This IS the company to hire in Anacortes. I got several quotes for exterior painting, just to be…read moresafe. Several neighbors had recently hired A Good Painter and raved about them. Their homes all looked awesome. Thankfully Gaelan's quote was also one of the best. His quote also "included" the paint (be careful...I had several quotes mostly well-under $10K...one company quoted me $17K and it didn't even include the paint). If you're like us you also want rotten wood fixed, caulking replaced and any other needed fixes repaired. A Good Painter did a thorough inspection of the exterior and discovered a few needed fixes. They replaced rotten boards from the deck railing, fixed rotten facia boards, discovered and repaired an area of failed roof shingles that were buckling and repaired a rotten trellis base...all the extra work was charged at reasonable rates...no huge surprise bill at the end. They use high quality caulk and they include two coats of paint on all surfaces...not the case for all companies. Many only include the first coat and then charge extra for the second, knowing from the start that only one coat is not going to do the trick. This company is run by honest, hard workers. The owner, Gaelan, continued to work an entire day after the job was basically complete, doing touch-ups and finishing details. He clearly takes pride in the quality of his work and doesn't rush off until the job is done perfectly. Only problem is I'm not the only one who knows how good these guys are, so their schedule does get booked...try to book early, especially for an exterior job that requires sunshine!

He gave us…read morea "worst case scenario" quote based on what damage could lie beneath a rotting floor, with a job time estimate of 3-4 days; we were up against a weekend, so it was understandable that these were work days, not calendar days. He kept us informed every step of the way, was respectful of our home, pets, and time, and only exhibited professional values at all times (he never tried to "guy up" to me or to mansplain to my wife, and always used appropriate language, etc.) Rick came in under his estimate and before his time estimate, despite finding that the prior homeowners had done some unforeseen (and, frankly, stupid) work under that floor. He strives to keep in the communication loop, suggests when other professionals are required, who, and why (in this case, CPI for plumbing), and will make anything right. He even gave us some great advice on other fixes and changes we are considering. When the time comes to make them, we will be calling Red Flannel again.
