Very Disappointing Experience at Coach Venetian…read more My wife and I are in Las Vegas for a few days and stopped at the Coach store at The Venetian. She found a pair of shoes she loved. The manager personally brought the pair out of the box, she put them on, purchased them, and wore them out of the store. The associate at the register told my wife she had 30 days for returns or exchanges, knowing she was wearing the shoes when we left. About 20 minutes later, after walking around the indoor shops on polished marble floors and carpet, my wife took one of the shoes off and we were shocked by the condition of the soles. They had extensive dark scuffs, marks, and wear that did not look consistent to us with approximately 20 minutes of indoor walking. When we looked at the box more closely, the tissue paper was also heavily crumpled and looked like the shoes had been handled before. We immediately returned to Coach. My wife did not want a refund. She loved the shoes and simply asked for another new pair of the exact same shoes. The manager refused, saying that once she wore them out of the store they could not be returned or exchanged. That was extremely frustrating because this same manager was the person who took the shoes from the box and handed them to my wife. She had no reason to turn over and inspect the soles before purchasing them because she reasonably believed she was being handed a brand-new pair of shoes. I even asked the manager whether the store had cameras. He confirmed that it did. I asked whether the footage could be reviewed to help determine the history and handling of this pair, but he would not do so. We cannot say whether these shoes had previously been worn or returned, but based on the condition of the soles after such a short period of indoor wear and the condition of the packaging, we had a legitimate concern and asked for a very reasonable solution: exchange them for a new pair. We weren't looking for money back. My wife wanted the shoes. We simply expected a new pair when purchasing new shoes from Coach. What should have been a fun purchase during our Vegas trip turned into an unnecessarily disappointing experience. I have photos of the soles taken shortly after we discovered the condition.
