I had two experiences with Marshall Outpatient Rehab in Placerville. One was excellent, as that therapist worked to help me regain strength and balance after a health crisis. But as is typical (I suspect) in the human psyche, bad experiences usually linger in the mind longer, and my second experience was very negative. After regaining some strength and balance from the first therapist, my second round of PT at this facility was with a different therapist, who was instructed by my referring physician to help me "relearn" how to walk properly. His approach was, "Your body (legs, ankles, feet) already knows how to walk...it does it naturally." So he dismissed the idea that there was anything I needed to relearn, and simply approached the problem with more strengthening exercises. I left that second session with stronger muscles to be sure, but I STILL was not walking properly, which continued to cause bad posture and a lot of pain. I eventually went to another PT facility, and finally after about 6 more months of work, I was able to train my ankles and feet the proper way to walk, and I can finally walk without aids. I am giving the facility a single star based on the negative experience. read more
