We solicited a half dozen quotes from a range of businesses in the 'landscaping' , 'tree trimming', etc. businesses. First pattern noticed is none of the businesses were super responsive. Maybe it was the season, maybe they were so busy, but I found it annoying to call/write two, sometimes thee times to get quotes. Mr. Nguyen is old school. They don't have a fancy website to take quotes. You have to call him. He comes over, and has to write up a quote. Then he goes more old school, and will actually deliver the quote, hand written in an envelope to your mailbox. His quote was very competitive for all the things we were asking them to do...quote to do the work was not the cheapest (which is always scary), and DEF not the most expensive (which was easily a $1k difference). He, and his mighty little crew are amazing. My hubs told me the wife brings a portable grill on the job site and makes hot meals for the crew at lunch. It's so old school and so efficient and we LOVED their work. They ended doing tree trimming for our neighbors to as an add on gig to ours... Shine on you crazy diamond, Mr. Nguyen! Great work!

It was a crew of nine. They helped remove a bunch of overgrown ivy and weeds throughout my property and hauled away a bunch of junk (some of which had been sitting around for over 20 years). There's still much to do around my house due to years of deferred maintenance, but the Santos Hauling team provided a jumpstart to refreshing my house. This was a rental property, and I couldn't check on his work. He didn't prune the branches to a tree, that one side of the tree must've been heavy to split one of the main branches. They do not know how to pruned a tree or bushes. Every branch went in every direction. Some branches were just broken off & not clean cuts. The bushes were overgrown & not pruned very good. You have to train bushes & tree, so that they have a good shape. Poor value when you trust that someone knows how to pruned. No grass to take care of. Now we will need to saw some of the branches. I feel they took advantage of the rental property. They should Google or You Tube how to garden.

There are 3 big projects for which we contracted with Zarco Landscaping, because they continually performed above and beyond on the work. The first project was for a room that would flood when it rains. The team at Zarco quickly diagnosed the problem as poor gutter placement and cracks in concrete on the floor above, and they worked rapidly to connect a new sewer system and rebuild our concrete walkway. There has been no more flooding. The second project was to improve the terrain and usability of our backyard, which is on a hill that was very difficult to navigate. The Zarco team completely transformed the area, building stone steps and leveling the land with premium soil, mulch, and stone. Please see the attached photos (we wish we had before pictures, but it was all dirt and invasive plants before on a steep incline)! Lastly, our third project had to be done rapidly after the recent storms in the bay area. We needed three very large and dead trees removed that were at risk of falling on our house or the street. The Zarco team came the next day to remove all of the trees. Overall, the Zarco team has always delivered amazing service and treated us with respect. The prices are also very reasonable and competitive with quotes we received from other businesses. For months, we called and followed up multiple times regarding the issues with the irrigation and the condition of the work, and we were repeatedly ignored. You were aware of who we were despite the Yelp review being under a different name because we were the ones consistently reaching out with no acknowledgment. Regarding the irrigation issue: the damage wouldn't have occurred if your crew had properly capped the existing irrigation before installing the pavers. The fact that you had to redo a section later at no charge doesn't negate that the issue was caused by your team's oversight in the first place. Had you taken responsibility and communicated with us when we initially reached out, we wouldn't have had to resort to a public complaint.
