Let me start off by saying that in the beginning Carmen did give me a little anxiety but that's something i had to face head one if o wanted to get my license. She gave very informative information that was needed to help drive better and her "Pizza" technique for parking is very helpful. Unfortunately, I didn't pass my road test last month because the guy i had was a complete a-hole, but i took everything i learned from Carmen and continued to practice and actually did pass my road test last week with only 10 points. Do not go to this school. I failed my road test two times with this teacher. She has terrible road rage and was not patient at all with me. She would yell things out and bad mouth every other driver on the road. She is wacky and not a good teacher especially if you have anxiety about driving. On the day of my road test at the test site Carmen yelled at another driving instructor from a different school for cutting me off and called him a racial slur. Right before my road test. He didn't even cut me off. The day of my test she put me on edge and gave me anxiety. She is not calming and does not teach you the correct way to drive. Carmen also would change the car into reverse and park for me which didn't help me to learn. I recently started at Fitzgerald it's more pricey but its worth it. One lesson with Helen at Fitzgerald was better then 10 lessons with marsal. Your money will be wasted at marsal with the low quality lessons they give. Helen takes the time to show you little things with a calming tone and gives me confidence. She is so kind, patient and educated. The office is also very nice and easy to reach. PLEASE do not use this company to teach your child to drive!! The instructor was very racist towards my African American son. She told him " how did you get into Hofstra with a small brain," Your black how come you don't hang out in W... I find that ironic " and so on...I brought this to the attention of the owner and he's response, "she was just kidding."My son was so offended and hurt. We had to explain to him the micro aggression that he will face being a black male and how to manage those emotion.Disgusted!!!! read more

If you are an anxious or nervous driver....sorry you've come to the wrong place. The instructor I had was extremely impatient and severely exacerbated the anxiety I felt while driving. This culminated in our final lesson when she not only arrived late but also announced to me that she "was having a bad day". Once our lesson started, she became very impatient with how slow I was conducting maneuvers to the point of egging me on to go faster in a very condescending and unprofessional manner. I stopped the lesson right then and there because of how uncomfortable I felt being in the car. The instructor THEN went on to come to my doorstep and have a word with my parents. Horribly unprofessional, please do not waste your money here if you are looking for someone with patience and an encouraging attitude. read more

I was frustrated at first looking for a school and let me tell you thank god I found marsal driving school. Carmen is the best to ever do it! She deserves a noble peace prize, an award, a 10K bonus and everything else. Carmen knows her stuff!!! Worst decision to take 5 hours road test course from carmen. She doesn't know how to teach properly and fails to tell you your mistakes. Extremely poor teaching techniques. She thinks that she is doing some favor and overly proud and arrogant. Her behavior is rude, humiliating and very unprofessional .on the day of my road test her anger was at next level for no reason. Instead of making me calm and confident she was constantly telling me fail fail fail.what I was wearing is none of her business. She gave me so much mental trauma on the way to my road test that I cannot describe here in few words. On reaching the test site she yelled furiously at the person who was standing outside his car and was in the queue for his test .she went and told the instructor that if I would have been in your place I would have failed him immediately as his cars break lights were on .She sneezed while waiting in the car and yelled at me why you have not blessed me. Imagine you are going to take your test in few minutes and you are sitting beside such a impatient and aggressive person ,what state of mind your's will be.Even my husband's colleagues daughter left in the middle after taking just 2 class because of her outrageous behavior although she had paid for 5 classes. Without MARSAL DRIVING SCHOOL's wonderful instructor CARMEN, I would not have gotten my driving license ! SHE IS GREAT !! I am in my early 40's and moved to LI from Queens. I was afraid to drive, not because of my TOTAL lack of skills but because this was new unfamiliar territory and I was afraid of other crazy drivers. I booked two packages with Carmen . Prices are very reasonable, less than anywhere else around, and each additional lesson / second package is discounted making this truly affordable ! ((side note: I tried another school a year prior and they were not only more expensive but didn't even take me on the main road, all they did was take my money.))
