I came here for work meetings, and the meeting space was great! Easy plentiful parking too, and the bartender was so good & kind! Oh but to stay here, gosh this Marriott was just so outdated. The hallway carpets look 50 years old, the sheets felt too worn in, the fridge didn't work & shower pressure wasn't great. The executive lounge was good but ran out of breakfast twice before 9am, so the front desk gave me a voucher for breakfast at the main restaurant- which was much better! I think this is one of the worst full service Marriott brand hotels out there, it needs a lot of updating. read more

Can I post zero stars? We have Marriot loyalists for years. This hotel is making us reconsider. When we first came, we went to room 720 and there was a half empty bottle of water, which led us to question the cleanliness of the room. We changed to room 717. There were dirty socks under the comforter that were not ours. Picture below. Disgusting. The room already didn't feel clean, but the hotel staff are not changing sheets. Very friendly staff who provided great service! Rooms were a bit dated but not too bad. This hotel has great amenities including a large indoor pool and an outdoor pool (although the outdoor one is only open in the summer), a nice fitness area, a great patio, and an extensive concierge lounge for elite members, which offered many great food and drink options, especially the breakfast. My only complaint is about the pillows, they sank into the bed so it felt like I was sleeping on the bare bed without any pillows at all, which caused some sleep issues. Other than that, this hotel was great and I'd stay here again, just bring your own pillows! read more

I stayed here for a conference. I read the reviews and was not impressed but since the conference was at the hotel, I decided to book a room here. My room was okay. The carpet okay and so was the bed and bedding. The bathroom (shower and toliet area) needs updating and there was water damage or something on the walls. My company served us breakfast and lunch. A few of my co-workers ate breakfast at the breakfast and had a horrible experience. The conference spaces/rooms are good but the wifi is horrible. We've come here for an overnight and couldn't have been happier with our stay. We have two grandkids with us and all four of us have been treated with nothing but over-the-top respect and courtesy. The pool is extremely comfortable, the hot tub is the perfect temperature, the rooms are comfortable and clean, the hotel, on the whole, is very clean, and like I said the employees are just short of perfect. The continental buffet was very nice, biscuits and gravy, bacon, sausage, eggs, fruit, pancakes, items for bagels and lox, and the rest of the usual suspects. The outdoor pool area looks nice and clean and inviting though it's is not open at this time of late winter. PS- the (I believe) manager was walking around asking guests how everything was, during breakfast, asked us if our grandkids were finished their breakfast and if they'd eaten enough to get a snack. He took them to the pantry area and let them each pick a few things. We thought that was the nicest gesture and example of the type of service everyone should strive to achieve. The hotel had everything we needed except a hotel shuttle. Check-in was nobody's fault, but we did tell the front desk that we were coming in around 2 AM. When we got there, the doors were locked and there was no one at the front desk. We used our cell phone and called the hotel and we also used, the phone in the lobby. We heard the phones ringing, but after 15 minutes we finally saw someone coming down the hall to the front desk. She was very apologetic and apparently the only one on the night shift. Wallpaper peeling from the wall, sink must be clogged because it fills with water as you wash your hands and drains slow, and toilet won't flush unless you take the back off and jiggle the internal tank filling mechanism. ???? I hate to see what tomorrow brings when I try to take a shower and try get ready. I am with my elderly parents and not able to easily change rooms or deal with maintenance. The sheets Were dirty and spotty- we called and they changed our room to another one that looked a tiny bit better than the previous room- at least there was no hair on the sheets. I always have great experiences with Marriott's, and this one was no different. My fiance and I stayed here while we were in town for the Weird Al concert, and had a very nice stay here. Most of what we did was in the city, and this hotel was a little too far of a commute. Not their fault, I just probably would not stay here again for that reason. They did have really great prices though! And there was still a lot to do nearby. Our room was suuuper nice. I was really happy with it. I joked that I wanted to take the mattress home with us because it was like sleeping on a cloud! The hotel offered all kinds of amenities. Gym, indoor and outdoor pool and a restaurant. I went into the gym once which was okay, however there were quite a few machines that were out of order so there wasn't much I was able to do in there. Terrible! The rudest staff I have ever seen. Never had this much trouble checking into a hotel. The staff at the desk was rude and unhelpful. They refused service to my daughter aswell. Rob at the desk was very disrespectful to my daughter and laughed in her face while manager watched. Very unprofessional staff and hope they get it together. Never staying here again! We stayed here while in town for the holidays and due to an unexpected illness, we had to cut our trip short. I spoke to the front desk (Kerrie - not sure of the spelling) and she was so helpful about cancelling our reservation and making sure I had whatever I needed to feel better while I was there and for the trip home. I felt she went above and beyond which I appreciated. Our only negative was that when we checked in, no one mentioned that we were on the same floor as a wedding and that translated to a very late and loud floor. INITIAL REVIEW: I travel quite a bit for work in the AV technical services business and stay at many Marriott's throughout the country. Although not every location "hits the mark", I have to say that even with the couple of not so good reviews I found here on Yelp for this location, the staff at this location are absolutely "IMPECCABLE"! I was so impressed with the professionalism, courtesy, and friendliness of the crew that I literally HAD to give them the credit where credit is due. From the front desk and management to the banquet staff and even janitorial, I was met by every single person with a smile, a greeting, and they where all fully willing to accomodate. I think people in general forget fancy carpet, wallpaper, drapes and furnishings which, by the way where maintained and in order. Rather, a hotel property with a stellar staff is much more preferred. People MAY remember all the fancy trimmings but, people remember more how you made them feel. Although I can't remember everyone's name, I want to recognize the staff that I did interact with as well as their general manager who obviously takes staff interactions with guests very seriously. This Marriott is located in Chesterfield, Missouri, but I guess it is called St. Louis West so that people from out of town will have an easier time with figuring out where this is. Aside from the name discrepancy, this is an average Marriott. The hotel is a little old but is in good condition otherwise. It is located near the freeway and next to a business park. There is a lake and some trails on the back side of the hotel if you want to enjoy some scenery. It is a pretty peaceful area a bit of a drive away from downtown St. Louis. Self-parking and internet are free here. Valet parking is not available, but do not complain since self-parking is free. Refrigerators are complimentary based upon availability. Otherwise, everything else is a la carte. Overall, this hotel is not the best, but it nails average down perfectly. read more

I'm a platinum with Marriott and this is just an honest review compared to other Marriotts and hotels. I have stayed in Holiday Inns and even a Super 8 much better. Plain and simple.... this hotel is crap! Con's - The walls are paper thin and the stupid connecting doors..I could hear the people next door snoring, talking to Siri, coughing, farting, TV, curtains being opened, talking, shower running, etc. Woke me up several times - outdated with much or the furniture scuffed up - Platinum is supposed to get high speed internet, mine never worked - Parking is a long walk if you don't get in early enough - Beers are expensive in the bar, $7.90! - The lounge is fairly lame - Platinum and no upgrade but understandable if none available. I was also put on a very low floor. - In spots the place is dirty.....feel free to stay and check the bathroom area! - Laying on the bed watching TV and anyone near by lets a door slam and the wall and pillow shakes Pro's - ummm it has a pool? I have no idea how anyone rates this a 4 or 5. They must stay in some crappy hotels. One of the lowest ranking Marriotts I've stayed at in a long time. I will never stay here again! read more

An employee who had a master key went into their room while they were at breakfast - they took the car keys off the table and cash out of her purse. No security cameras are in the garage. While the hotel is fine and the room is clean, it has not met my expectations. I specifically looked for a place with a restaurant so I could have a "get away" to binge watch Netflix and have room service for dinner to totally relax. My first disappointment when I walked in the room was when I saw the TV to the left of the bed instead of at the foot of it. So no propping against the headboard to comfortably watch TV. Then I couldn't find a menu anywhere in the room, on the app or online (which I guess was my first clue) but the front desk brought one up for me. Evidently the menu frequently changes depending on what they can source, which is understandable, I guess. I press the Room Service button on the phone and get the front desk. There IS no room service, so I am gonna have to go down, order, wait and cart it up here myself or just sit down there and eat. Either way I am disappointed. So I am giving 3 stars, which is average. Totally first world complaints-- I will still get to eat and still binge watch some episodes. Just know that if room service is in your "must have" list, don't stay here. I guess I learned that a restaurant on site doesn't equate to room service, so I will know to ask next time. read more

Overall while the hotel was nice it was a little dated. But that's OK, they can't all be brand new. The breakfast bar was really good food, the omelette maker was delightful, but the service at the restaurant for breakfast was horrible. It was impossible to get ahold of them after they served coffee, and when we finally got up to leave there were three of them huddled talking. On the way out I passed one who was apparently tasked with folding napkins, but was instead found doing social media. We use Marriott all the time and this was definitely not Marriott quality service. read more

This stay was a total 360 degree improvement from my last years stays! The employees at the front desk (Christina) and a very nice gentleman were super friendly and at check in Angelique even noticed my birthday was the next day and wished me well. Room service gentleman was working the restaurant and was resourceful when no rolls were available for my lunch salad. He improvised and gave me a croissant which was great! Food in the dining room has drastically improved and is very appealing now. Toni and Darina in concierge are still going strong and always offer exceptional service and a delightful experience every visit. No matter what's going on, they always offer an exceptional experience! I look forward to seeing them everyday. They make my days start positively and end my busy days with pleasant greetings and a smile helping me to relax. Tameka Henderson in housekeeping really does a great job of cleaning our room and making it comfy. GM Cody and F&B Mgr Joel are doing a fantastic job, responsive and listening to your opinions. Hotel is a bit remote, but quiet. Staff is friendly and accommodating, but not very knowledgeable. Rooms are average size for this mid-tier category property. The room cleanliness was meh and as they state the hotel was recently renovated--elements proved the contrary. There was a sticky stain on the carpet, the towels were a mix of brights white and clearly old grey (although they were supposed to be white), the sheets were tattered, the bathroom was not cleaned well. Parking and wifi are free. Not a full service hotel as there were no bell staff. Rates are reasonable and the water pressure in the shower was fabulous! read more

Thin beds, musky smell, no gym beginning of Nov 2018 due to a flood. If you're platinum member the lounge is a great place for breakfast, apps, and amazingly DESSERT!!! The lounge is also decked out with tons of fresh fruit and amazing Harney & Sons tea. Beautiful lobby. Elevators can get packed. Rooms are decently sized. Clean sheets, great workstation with plenty of outlets and media plugs. The toiletries smells like old people though, that rice bran oil I think. Parking is a dangerous game on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I'm not sure where you'd park if the first two rows are taken. read more

The hotel is clean and usually quiet but that is it. Restaurant closes at 8pm. Bar closes at 10pm. Concierge lounge he still closed due to "lack of staff". No hot breakfast. Grab and go breakfast has zero source of protein in it. No single serve wine or beer in the "gift shop". The gift shop is actually just a closet with snacks and drinks available for sale. The rooms are starting to get dated but it was clean. As a lifetime platinum elite member the amenities offered here at this time are less than what you get a Courtyard. read more

Conference Room Review: First off let me say.... the staff members were very nice and attentive to our needs. Now creating this review I have been very fair and backed it up with pictures!!! I've been to this location numerous times within the past 2 years for meetings and they still don't get it...in fact, its worse. The conference area appears to be nice but upon closer inspection its truly a disaster and needs to be called out. The lack of pride of appearance for a well known hotel chain is pitiful. I blame managements lackadaisical ethics. Every last table cloth was wrinkled from the check-in tables to the meeting room tables down to the soiled table linens and chaloirs. A lack of cleanliness is apparent when you look at the serving trays, the spotted cups and glasses. I can't stop there! Take a look at the beverage containers and beverage station signs. A bit of a wipe down could help improve things, wipe down the tables along with vacuuming & deep carpet shampoo of the chairs as well. After all is done management and assistant managers should not be sitting in the office for lengths of time. A walk through is needed along along with a hello! This location fails big time. I would not pay to rent a space from them. If the common areas for a conference or event is not given added attention, then how is the bar, restaurant doing? And then the cleanliness of the rooms. Omg...i hate to think the staff believes that they can continue to get away with this type of grossness. Check the glassware in your room. In fact, DO NOT USE THEM. Check your linens for stray hairs, etc. Check the tub and floors because this place is dirty. FAIL FAIL EPIC FAIL ***note: I was an event planner and to this day the entire event pre/post...I appreciate the best service. So, during a lunch break the staff were no where to be found and this was the perfect opportunity for them to have refreshed the beverage station, clean up etc. When the team was coming back from lunch break is when a couple of employees came wandering around a different area and I asked them to please remove the full seving tray, give us more ice, refill the coffee, fruit infused water, check the creamer, bring more cups, empty the table container....yes...i had to ask for all of this and it would not have been done if I hadnt. Requested (2 times) to have it done. After lunch...folks need caffeine to keep woke, etc. Every good host/hostess knows this. Marriott....I can't provide 1/2 stars. Hire the best that are willing to train others to appreciate and be better at their chosen job...at least motivate the staff!!! read more

The outside of the hotel looked nice, located in a great neighborhood, plenty of parking spaces. The lobby was fairly spacious. We arrived at 4:30p to check in. There was about a 15-20 minute wait in the line. The lady at the front desk said that housekeeping was in the middle of cleaning our room and should be less than an hour and she took our phone number to call us when our room was ready. We left to eat dinner and came back at 7:20pm, and went to talk to a different lady at the front desk. We told her that we did not receive a call, and stated they haven't even started cleaning our room. Stated that she needed my phone number again. I asked her about the hot tub that was shown on hotels.com, she stated that they don't have one. I told her that was false advertising. She stated that hotels.com does that. She gave me two cards up to $10 each for drinks and hors d'oeuvres. We ended up going to the outdoor pool to swim, no towels available outside. We got a call around 9:02pm stating our room was ready. Next morning we went to check out. The man at the front desk did not ask how our stay was, asked him for a receipt and said it would be emailed to me. He was rude and short with me. Didn't even thank me for staying at the hotel. This by far has been the worst experience we ever had, especially for the type of hotel we stayed at. Very unhappy about the way it all turned out and disappointed. There were multiple families dealing with the same issue in the lobby. read more

St Louis Marriott West is one of the better Marriott properties. Rooms are the updated model and clean, staff is friendly. The restaurant leaves something to be desired and made me wish there was any alternative within walking distance. Ordered the wings and came out with bleu cheese dressing slopped on a plate (see picture), most of the wings were very very dry and overcooked. Could be that this was a Sunday evening and quality wasn't a priority, the person who I would assume was the restaurant manager asked about the meal and didn't seem to care one way or another. St Louis Marriott West could be so much better if they could fix the restaurant quality...but since I often have to stay at the hotel doing work, turns out food is pretty important. read more
