This area by the river sustained some of the heaviest flood damage and destruction. But Marquee has opened back up and from the inside you cannot even tell it was almost destroyed. But on the outside the driveway and parking lot and surrounding buildings are all a bot rough still. But give Marquee a chance and you will not be disappointed by the quality and variety of local art they have brought back into the midst of the destruction. Really impressive local art!

So thankful Liz (artist http://lizhosier.com) at Hole Donuts (a must BTW) recommended we check this place out! Love to support local artists and this is your place! You can get lost for hours in this place! Super cool art , jewelry, t shirts and more! Loved we got to see the fun stuff! Got me a perfect heart necklace and some art post cards! We parked in a weird spot so be sure to go through the front. Great we saw graffiti artist spray painting! Worth the stop! Support Local!

The Marquee had a very elective collection of art to offer and also had wine & beer to enjoy while pursuing. The set up was a bit much... I get you want to get as much art as you can in the place, but to effectively see it all, you'd have to go in small circles around each area. If you go here, that explanation will make more sense. Some things I found to be a bit pricey, but that could just be me. Anywho, it was a fun experience and I saw something interesting items.

Marquee is a must visit in the River Arts District. Marquee is a market that has a ton of different art galleries within that showcase the artwork of local artists that you can purchase, as well as other goods and products. We visited Marquee while walking around the River Arts District and saw this gigantic building with a ton of different artwork inside. I love supporting local businesses and artists, and this place does just that, with plenty of area artwork and products for purchase. The artwork varies in medium, from paintings, to ceramics, to textiles, etc. There's something for everyone here. Inside the Marquee is also an area where you can kick back and have a drink as they have a small bar area where they sell and/or offer local liquors. Dogs are allowed inside and there are public restrooms. Marquee is a great place to see, shop and support!

Marquee is part of the River Art District and the most impressive of what we were able to see so far. That's why Marquee deserves its own review. Marquee is like a big warehouse full of arts. When you first walk in, you'd see a robot guard and on the ceiling, there are decorated umbrellas hanging up side down. I like that the ceiling is tall and each kiosks have decent space so it made me feel comfortable and relaxed walking around. There are not a lot of artists in Marquee like other locations because this is more of a showroom than a place for the artists to work at. They're selling beverages and snacks if you want a small bite. The interesting part is they have a full bar with great decorations, designs and seatings. If you want to take your drinks to wander around and look at art at the same time, you can! Marquee owns the bar so you can walk everywhere inside marque with a drink on your hand. I'd definitely get a drink at the bar if I had more time. Strongly recommend visiting and hanging out here.

I own a furniture store of 30 years and stayed at an airbnb nearby. Asked her where she got her beautiful doors from and she recommended this place. We get there 4:00 on Sunday excited to see what they have the hostess points to my girlfriend in a rude condescending voice singling her out saying "There is a sign right here saying no bags!!" Everyone drops their jaws in shock and I asked what she said and she repeats "The sign right there says no bags" this is as several people are carrying back packs and large purses! My girlfriend has a small Kavu back she uses as a purse and it wouldn't fit a $5 item to steal as the hostess was implying Shocked we just walked out without arguing with this girl that is probably on drugs and will never be back here again With a welcome like that we left embarrassed the horses chose to single us out instead of politely saying I'm so sorry please.....

We were in the river arts district and it was recommended to us to stop by this location. It's a great location to spend some time in especially on a rainy, dreary day. They have a bar at the front that serves local siders, beers, and wines and you can grab a glass and wander around the hundreds of different artist stalls located within this warehouse. It's very eclectic with multiple different types of not only artwork, but consignment style styles as well too.

Very cool spot with a mix of a peddlers mall with vintage finds and unique art from local artists. Be sure to make it to the very back where you'll find a bar to grab a drink while shopping and a craft beer store with Ana amazing selection of hard to find brews!

Out of all the spots we checked out in RAD, Marquee was definitely where we spent the most time... and money! I know people say it all the time, but Marquee really has something for everyone. There are so many art vendor booths with everything from traditional paintings to hand blown glass. On top of that, you'll also find vintage goods, super cool furniture, and if none of that is your thing, you can grab a beer while you wait. We came back multiple times and still didn't see everything. Make sure to check prices on items too. While some favorites were out of my range, I had a great find on a vintage cooler that was a steal. This is a great spot to start your RAD journey because they have their own side parking lot and if you save it until the end, you likely won't have enough time to explore.

Back at the Marquee. Many nice new additions to there inventory.

I really need to come here more often. New exhibits and artists bringing fun. interesting. collectibles. Surprising location to purchase clothing.

Marquee is a magical place. My husband and I are local and love visiting this place on a frequent basis. Everything about Marquee is extraordinary, from the carefully curated assembly of talented artists and events, the atmosphere, the setting, the ambiance and the professional and helpful staff. I took great exception to an unjustified and misleading one star review from "Sam D." regarding Marquee's policy regarding bags. Firstly, the policy is clearly and professionally posted at both entrances. Furthermore, complimentary lockers are provided for patrons. The assertion that the Marquee associate who engaged with this patron was "on drugs" is ludicrous, defamatory and absolutely unfounded. I have engaged with the wonderful people who work at Marquee since their opening. And I know them to be nothing less than kind, professional and honest people doing their very best to ensure the best experience for all who visit Marquee and for the artists who share their work here. If you are considering visiting Marquee, please don't let this unjustified bitter review keep you away. This place is amazing!

If you're an art geek like me, you will absolutely love this newer addition to the River Arts District in Asheville! Located in a warehouse that has been transformed into a marketplace, the Marquee is a dream space for local vendors/artists to show off their wares, for art appreciation, and for those seeking unique items to purchase. Here you will find paintings, vintage decor, plants, jewelry, and more. There is even a cute little bar where you can take a wine/beer break while exploring. I wish we had something like this near where we live!

By far the best art gallery I went to in Asheville. I HIGHLY recommend you come here!! They have a really cool bar inside with a lot or seating. Next to the bar there is a unique spot for a DJ to setup for special events. You can grab A drink and wonder the large space looking at all the great art. You can even take your drink out side if you would like some fresh air. This art galley has so many different things: panting, pottery, jewelry, plants, antiques, clothing, furniture and so much more. They have nice low music playing throughout the whole place. Its a very chill and relaxing vibe. I would come back for sure.

Located on Walnut off Broadway, it's a small shop that offers women's and men's clothing. There's a mix of eras under one roof and I noticed they have a good selection of men's clothing, which sometimes is a struggle for the guys who like vintage. When I went this time, there was a smaller selection of women's clothing, but most of the pieces seemed to be in fair condition. Spotted a vintage Dior jacket, but decided to not grab it. I'd guess that most of the clothing at the time that I went was from the 1970s-now. Mostly I saw tops, tees, and jackets, along with vintage denim. Parking options include street parking and parking lots where you pay by the hour. I went with the latter as it was more cost effective when I compiled my list of shops to visit in the same area. I recommend going that route because most of the shops are on the main streets and it's easy to reach them by walking.

The place is massive and is located in the major retail and dining section, so park where you can. I went in there specifically for some snacks, but walked out with clothes, food, syrup, honey, and much more. They have multiple registers so it was a fast check out despite this place always appearing to be crowed. Also, they have a basement that looks more like a legit retail/clothing store than a general store and they also had a bunch of antiques around too. I was in awe of the old school cash register. Again, this is a must see and is great for the kids because of the authentic and homemade sweets and treats.

Bring the whole family -- the kids will enjoy the large toy and candy section -- and I didn't even look at the large Mast-branded jams, jellies and jarred food section because I wouldn't be able to fit them in my suitcase.
