The location is excellent- minutes away from downtown, HEB, 24 Fitness, Muller, and much more. The complex is well-kept, amenities are top-notch, and they take care of your service request in less than 24 hours! The staff at Marq is just incredible! Randy is a superstar! He always welcomed me with a big smile and a great conversation. I moved to Austin and needed an immediate move in, the leasing office helped me so much and assured me I would have a home as soon as possible, they even tried to rush my criminal background check to help. Kristen helped me to go through EVERYTHING with the lease within 2 hours and we are able to move in the very next day, super helpful and fast! Randy helped us to resolve the package address mystery and got it sorted out, really friendly and helpful!! The neighborhood is pretty peaceful overall, with only a few parties in the pool area during the weekend. You'll also see a lot of dogs, there's a dog park right across the street. I fell in love with Marq Uptown the first time I browsed its website and read the Google reviews, which made me immediately decide to fly in from out of state to tour the apartments. The building itself is located at a great location near other residential complexes and a cute park. It has a beautiful, modern look from both the outside and the inside, and the residential amenities themselves also look amazing. From the conference room and media room to the cute patio that overlooks the city to the beautiful pool and apartment gym, it's easy to tell that all the public space is loved and well-maintained with care. I toured and loved both the 1G and 1C apartments, and eventually decided on a unit from the latter for personal reasons. The rent is reasonably priced for the cute, adorable apartment you get and all the amazing building amenities. Besides the beautiful apartments and the wonderful residential space that Marq Uptown provides for the residents to enjoy, what makes this place truly special and one of a kind in the best way possible is definitely the AMAZING team of people here that make you feel like home right off the bat. Randy and Christian from the leasing office both helped me through my apartment searching/touring and application process, and it's been such a blessing to work with them. Throughout my time interacting with them, they have always been kind, patient, reliable, incredibly sweet, and professional, even when I come to them with gazillion questions and time-sensitive requests. They are always thinking about how to make things easier for me and how to help me with the process, which I'm so incredibly grateful for and have seen them be the same way to all the other applicants and residents when I came to tour. They are also super creative and organize fun residential events quite often, some of which I've never seen any other apartments do! I have so much gratitude for the maintenance team here. Mario and Roger work so hard to keep everyone comfortable and often times that cuts into time that they could be at home. Sometimes I see them here working late at night getting things fixed. I see them most mornings when I take out my own dogs and always stop to talk to them. They are such a major part of the apartment family. My dogs love them and sometimes Roger might even give my pups a treat. During the snow storm when pipes were busted they both braved the roads to restore a whole complex who was without water. Mario even came around to pass water bottles out to residents who had been without water because of the storm. This apartment truly cares about the well-being of residents. The front office staff worked to keep everyone updated all while dealing with their own emergencies caused by the storm. I am so grateful for all their dedication. read more

Overall, I would highly recommend Marq Uptown. I've lived in this building for over 2 years and am only leaving as I'm moving out of state. I have to say that the new management (CWS) is leaps and bounds better than the previous management (Lincoln Apts.) in terms of facility upkeep and managing the community. With the old management, I had a neighbor below me who played loud music (with thumping bass) at ALL hours. The old management tried to help by contacting the tenant, but never did so effectively. They also allowed Airbnb rentals and actually rented units out themselves for weekends. I was constantly seeing new neighbors and got catcalled/filmed by random dudes staying for the weekend on numerous occasions. The pool was constantly trashed and people used the trash room as a dumpster. It was really gross. I had reached my wit's end when CWS took over, and I showed up in tears at the office as I couldn't live with the constant bass anymore. They wouldn't let me out of my lease, but moved me to a top floor unit at the same rent. They also kicked out all the troublesome tenants (loud partiers, constant Airbnb-ers, etc.) and cracked down on people trashing the pool/common areas. Since then, they've taken care of most issues regarding noise and trash in a timely and effective manner. Yes, the fire alarm goes off every once in a while, and yes, someone on my floor can't seem to figure out how to use the trash chute and leaves it on the trash room floor, but the management actually cares and follows up on solving the problems, which is sadly rare in the complexes I've seen in Austin. They also throw a bunch of cute events-- wine nights, pancake breakfasts. Personally, I'm not a student and feel a little old when I attend, but if that's your jam, I highly recommend coming here. read more

I've lived here for about 3 years, and I love it. I don't normally give a perfect score, but the CWS team at Marq Uptown has earned this one. Taylor, Jaleel, Kristin, and the maintenance team have been incredibly responsive and great. I've never experienced this kind of customer service at an apartment before. They have a 24-hour response rate to any work order. The community is chill and easy-going. It's a perfect place to come home to. The Marq Uptown has been my best rental experience ever. The maintenance staff is friendly, kind, and competent. The front office staff knows you by name and is super easy to get in contact with. My AC broke in Aug of 2019 and they provided ample accommodations for my inconvenience. We never lost power during the winter storm & they provided water if needed. I had a total of 3 roaches here over 2.5 years which is UNHEARD OF for a Texas rental! The sky deck is amazing and always empty, they keep the gym clean and the pool is never overly crowded even on summer weekends... the on-call courtesy officer is prompt... I was honestly sad to move out. I feel like the Marq Uptown was my little safe haven during the pandemic. 10/10. read more

The property is great here moved in it was good for about 2 monts. First Problem we had was a $300 water bill management insisted we were using water was no fault of theirs. 6 months later finally were refunded money for leaks in pipes. Lost package that was supposed to be signature required had to threaten to file lawsuit on high value item management signed for and lost. Pool all amnenities closed for months no covid plan in place then when opened only allowed when staff is present and will not allow my 7 year old daughters friend to play in pool. Management is very corporate does not care about residents. I have tried and tried to get them to be a little more understanding of residents needs without posting anything about them but after months and months have given up. Not a good place to live high price and not a very satisfying place to live because of poor management read more

I've been at Marq Uptown since October 2017. I'm moving out tomorrow and would like to pass along my experiences. For the past year, the CWS staff have consistently been phenomenal. They always greet me and my family with kindness and by our first names. Jay is so genuine and hospitable that even my guests that have come to visit me have commented on how lovely and kind he is. Also, any maintenance requests I have placed have been taken care of within 24 hours! I've enjoyed living here and would recommend highly to anyone. Move here if you enjoy being woken up by an unbearable fire alarm between the hours of 1 and 7 AM, at least a couple of times each month! Look, the facilities are nice and the leasing office folks are great. I have always felt safe here. It's very dog-friendly (besides the blaring fire alarm that has made my dog pee the carpet several times). But I swear to god I have never had to evacuate a place more times because of a nonexistent fire than I have this place. Look at the number of emails in my inbox labeled fire alarm. (There are over 40. I've lived here 3 years.) save some money and rent at Sabina. I never see them standing outside at 2 in the morning like we idiots from uptown are right now...again... read more

I lived at Marq Uptown for three years while I attended law school; from July 2017 to June 2020. I highly recommend the property for law students--or anyone! The leasing office is excellent. They knew me by name and always went out of their way when I needed help. The facilities are well maintained and my maintenance requests were always handled in a timely manner (as in, same day). I lived on the first floor and always felt safe and comfortable. The finishes in the apartment are excellent. I never had issues with loud neighbors; in fact, I never heard a peep from anyone outside my unit, and I had a variety of neighbors over the years. I find the complex to be very pet friendly! Many law students live here and so it is a great place for study groups and to meet people. I would certainly lease here over Sabina across the street; many of my friends that lived in Sabina wished they had lived here or actually moved! I've seen a few reviews here about fire alarm issues; there was a period last summer with some alarm issues, but those were fixed and have posed no issue in over a year. Certainly don't let that dissuade you from renting at such a well run property! read more

Maintenance requests, though rare, are handled immediately. When I had a special issue come up while I was out of town, the team went above and beyond to help. I've lived here for about 6 months, since May 2017. Management changed halfway through, sometime around August. New management has been working hard. If I wrote this review a few months ago, I probably would've given 2-3 stars instead. A lot of the frustrations from some of the previous reviews are legit, but I think old management left a lot of problems for the current team to fix. For example, the garage door had been broken for a long time and previous management never fixed it. And now, it's been fixed properly. They at least doubled the number of poop bag stations for dogs and are never out (previously they we're almost never stocked and the poop bag trash cans would overfill-- gross). They've repainted the lines in the garage door. The fire alarm has indeed gone off a ridiculous number of times but management is actually addressing it instead of ignoring it; I expect much fewer fire alarms in the future (apparently there was an issue with the construction guys with the new restaurants being finished). We have never had problems with our valet trash eventually being picked up, but it does seem like they pick up at a more consistent time now. I trust the new management. As far as noise: I'm a resident physician so I work 60-80 hours a week, and I have to work nights, days, and weekends. I'm pretty darn sensitive about my sleep schedule because I need it. I don't have the same problem as the some of the others who have reviewed so far. Yes, I have one neighbor that has dog that tends to bark (but it's an apartment complex that allows big dogs -- which is exactly why we live here). And I hear footsteps above me occasionally but never in the middle of the night, but not more so than previous complexes. I think "stomping" is certainly an exaggeration, however, from an engineering perspective, I suspect that having hard floors instead of carpet may be an exacerbating culprit. But we love our hard floors bc it's so easy to clean up any messes our dog makes! None of the normal living noises occurs at odd hours. I was worried that there might be a lot of party noise when I moved here but that hasn't been the case. Most people I've met here are young professionals. There are students but they seem outnumbered from what I can tell. I was previously leaning towards not renewing our contract next year bc it didn't feel like we were getting what we are paying for, but will probably do so now if things keep going the way they are! read more

I moved in when it first open and had a pleasant experience with no complaints. However, for the past 6 months over numerous resident complaints, management has decided to operate a hotel business in the building and rents out the vacant rooms as a hotel. Every weekend hoards of people (the suitcases and ads on hotel websites were the giveaway) come using the apartment building as their hotel and with that comes increased noise, increased trash, smoking, lapses in security and pests. They deactivated almost all of the security devices in the building to allow these guests all access at all times. I've seen cockroaches, fruit fly infestations and even a rat in the pool area. Its clear to me that the residents who pay a lot to live in a nice building are the ones who respect it and abide by their lease. However, the hotel guests that management relies on now to make money are the ones who trash the building, smoke in the non-smoking building and leave a mess in the common areas like elevators, parking garages, and the pool. This is also against the city code as only a handful out of the 20+ rooms being operated as a hotel have the appropriate city permit which allows short term rentals. I cannot wait for my lease to end and move into a building that actually cares about their rent paying residents. read more

In all my years of renting apartments, never in my life have I lived in a place with so many fire alarm issues. In the 3 months I've lived here the fire alarms have went off in the middle of the night at least 7 times. At one point it was twice in one week. The poor dogs in the building. If you want to traumatize your pets this is the place for you! I have anxiety and abruptly waking up in the middle of a hard sleep to a fire alarm on a consistent basis is not something that is good for anyone. If I were you I would try the Sabina but make sure your apartment is on the other side of the building farthest away from marq uptown so you can avoid the inevitable monthly middle of the night alarm. read more

Simply put the rent is way too high for the incessant, obnoxiously loud and overall day disturbing building wide fire alarms. Been here one year and it goes off pretty consistently and it's always at a time when people are asleep or relaxing in the late afternoon/early morning. Also my locked car was broken into inside the supposedly secure and key fob entry only parking garage and the organization did next to nothing to assist as the security cameras do not cover the inside of the garage which is ridiculous. Keep in mind I was not a sole victim of this. It has happened to other residents as well with the same outcome or lack thereof. I feel compelled to mention I have never left a yelp review in my life as I've never found a business good or bad enough or impactful enough in my day to day life to warrant the time spent on writing a measly review on the internet. read more

I've been living here for 3 months now and honestly, every single aspect of my living experience has been exceptional. The room distribution, quality of amenities, cleanliness of common areas, and friendly staff make me feel that I made the right decision coming here. I wish I could give this place a -50, but this will do. Not only was the management team beyond lazy (Taylor, Kristen, Jaleel), I was also yelled at by them, and even looked down upon because of my disability. I had constant noise complaints with audio/video proof, and they insisted that they didn't believe me, and the only way they would is if I got a random man from their security company (not a police officer) to come into my apartment during the night during the time I sleep to monitor the noise from inside my apartment, which is ILLEGAL, according to the guy I spoke to from their company. I constantly told them about me receiving chemo and needing the loud music to cease for at least 3 hours (as it was 24/7) so I could rest, and all I got were consistent eye rolls, lies, and no results for over 7 months. Loud fights in the halls and blasting music were awaiting me every time I came home. Not to mention the grassed area was always filled with poop (don't walk there unless you want to wash your shoes every day​), the gates were constantly broken for days-weeks at a time, and the super loud fire alarm went off for no reason about every 2 weeks or so. Oh, and the building is never usually locked at night (or at all) like how they advertise. Unfortunately, I got physically assaulted by a random right outside the building as it is actually a highly crime-filled area, which resulted in me leaving early. The best and only thing they did for me was let me out of my lease. Stay far away. read more

I've lived here since June '16. The building opened early 2016 and has already changed management. The A/C didn't work the day I moved in but was quickly fixed. However, it took 3 mos to get a working washer/dryer unit. Received a voicemail from the office that a package was "found" almost 2 mos after the delivery date (and after incredible frustration, having already lost hope and reordered it). The pool is great, when it's clean (no maintenance on the weekend - think 20+ dead/live crickets floating around and on pool chairs + cigarette butts with no net to even clean it yourself). Valet trash is great, when they come on time. Recommend living on the top (5th) floor, as your light fixtures will rattle if your upstairs neighbor just so much as walks across the room or down the hallway. Overall, would not recommend to a friend - looks very nice but a very different and disappointing experience to live here. read more
