We walked in and were looking at the menu to decide what to order. There was absolutely no one behind us in line, so we were not holding up any other customers. Despite this, a young female employee by the name Mia, who was actively helping another customer at the time--repeatedly pointed to her coworker and loudly stated four separate times, "He's ready to help you here." I explicitly made physical gestures to indicate that we needed a moment and were still deciding. She completely ignored my cues and continued to aggressively push us to the register. Her insistence was entirely unprovoked, unnecessary, and created an immediate, tense environment. When my girlfriend reached the register, she rightfully expressed her frustration to the male cashier, his name Nicolas, asking why we were being rushed when the lobby was empty. Rather than offering a standard apology, the female employee who had been rushing us looked directly at my girlfriend, laughed in her face, and walked away to the back to ignore my girlfriend's disappointment about her behavior and his. This blatant mockery and lack of basic respect was the most upsetting part of the entire encounter. Because we were exhausted and hungry, we stayed to eat, but we immediately requested to speak with the manager, Cindy. When my girlfriend began explaining how disappointed we were as lifelong customers, Cindy's demeanor appeared completely detached, giving off a "get to the point" attitude. Once we explained the rushing and the employee laughing, Cindy offered a highly rehearsed, robotic speech about how "that is not how we treat customers." She then asked, "Let me know if there is anything I can do for you," rather than proactively offering to comp our meal or provide a gesture of goodwill for the terrible experience. My girlfriend told her that what she needed to do was discipline her staff, so this never happens to anyone else. I am incredibly disappointed that a simple stop to relax turned into such a stressful ordeal due to a complete lack of maturity from the front-line staff Mia and Nicolas and apparent lack of leadership from the manager Cindy on duty. This visit was a total mess, and we definitely didn't need the attitude and awful experience that we weren't expecting and definitely didn't ask for, after a long drive.
