Lucius rescued and receiving treatmwnt all thanks to Marley's pit stop rescue!

THIS RESCUE IS ABOUT THE DOG's HAPPINESS . PREFACE: I didn't adopt a pet from the rescue, but I was helped by them. And let me say that Everyone here complaining Elizabeth "dangled a dog in their face and then ripped it away" are comedic and selfish. Lol Elizabeth and the rescue have the best interest of the dog at heart, which a lot of rescues don't. Plenty of people can pay an adoption fee and then later neglect a pet. Their dogs are well cared for and happy when you meet them. MY EXPERIENCE: Anyways, i found 2 extremely neglected and abused puppies that were infected with parvo and I had no idea where to go. Then i met Elizabeth and Naz and they were truly a miracle for these puppies!!! Since the moment I met her she immediately started the process to get these puppies to the vet, ASAP. And at no cost to me provided supplies and handled the enormous vet fee. Most rescues wouldn't have spent the funds on puppies that didn't have a good chance at surviving! She has good communication, but for people saying she doesn't, she's running a rescue guys!! That's a lot of work! Lol She gave me all the necessary items for their well being: food, bedding, puppy pen, leash. Etc Right now one of the puppies is at home with me Parvo Negative!! And her brother is still at the vet getting treatment! This rescue is amazing and they REALLY love dogs. ADOPT FROM THEM. The process is tedious to some, but it should be! This will be your best friend!

i've had an unhealthy obsession with welsh corgis. up until 2 months ago, i would window shop in random malls, ooohing and aahing over the expensive little balls of fur. going to the last pet store (http://www.yelp.com/biz/barkworks-pups-and-stuff-los-angeles#hrid:MPIkBvdDbMa4J-50EC2cZg), i almost brought home a pembroke male corgi, priced at 800 buckeroos- "a steal!", the sales person said. i cringed. kissed him one last time and left with my own tail between my legs. fast forward 2 months, i was perusing welsh corgi puppies online, when i stumbled upon a rescue site. they explained the mother was abandoned (idiot owners!) behind a storage space! they brought her to the rescue, and she gave birth to a litter of 12. sadly, the runt did not survive. the pups were half mastiff/half pit. my heart went out to the pupperoos. and just my luck- they were showing the pups and various other dogs at the El Segundo Petsmart. Long story short, I was there 10 min early, and one puppy came and picked me. (she literally walked over, let me pick her up, and fell asleep on my shoulder...) Elizabeth, who is in charge of this excellent operation was great with questions and concerns. Parties interested in adopting must fill out the paperwork, and possible home inspections. they make SURE the people adopting these pups don't make a rash decision. the price of the rescue pup was 350. This goes towards keeping alive this non profit organization, and also includes all the pups first year shots and spaying. All the puppies there were very well socialized with people and dogs. After I had Bubsy (that's her name...: ) ) in my arms, I saw an obese little welsh corgi waddle by me. the old me would have considered this dog porn, and squealed with a school girl's delight. but i didn't even notice. i kissed my sleeping bubsy. and we walked away into the sunset...... happily ever after.

Elizabeth was great to work with! Communication was frequent through the adoption process and she kept us updated on everything. Our little pup has been such a welcomed addition to our home! So happy that we chose Marley's Pit Stop. We found out about Duffy, now Kenobi, on the website and reached out via email with our adoption application. Kenobi is a maltese/shih tzu mix and they wanted someone familiar with the breed who also had another dog. Our pup Daisy, is also a maltese/shih tzu mix. We sent in a few photos of us and Daisy along with our application. We heard back from Elizabeth the following day. After being approved by their board, we drove to the PetSmart in El Segundo on a Saturday for a meet and greet. Daisy and Kenobi were able to meet and we fell in love with him right away! That very day we schedule a home inspection for the following Monday. Elizabeth came over with Kenobi and his paperwork on Monday. Everything was all set. Kenobi had all of his shots, was neutered and microchipped. Elizabeth even brought his bed, a harness, some toys, a bag of the food that he was on so we could transition him and the treats that he liked. The adoption fee is very reasonable compared to others in the area. No health problems for Kenobi, aside from a mild ear infection, which cleared up with some drops from the vet. We had never heard of Marley's before or Elizabeth and neither of us ever had any difficulty with reaching her. We still are in contact via text with updates! You can really see how much Elizabeth loves these animals. For those below that are upset about not being chosen or not hearing back; from what I gathered, Elizabeth is VERY particular about how and where these pups are re-homed. Like the yelp review below stated, a lot of dogs are adopted and then given away. Elizabeth is particular for that reason alone. It takes a lot of time and consideration to make these matches, I'm sure. We most certainly were not the only family interested in Kenobi and Elizabeth waited to find the perfect match for him. We're happy that she waited too!

We have had a fantastic experience in adopting from Marley's Pit Stop, despite Elizabeth's obviously really busy schedule she was massively attentive and caring in her introductions and throughout our adoption of young Brock. She has nursed him back to health and obviously creates a strong and lasting bond with the Dog's she rescues. The adoption process is rigorous, as it should be, you first meet the pup and then will have a home visit to see that your house is satisfactory and safe. Elizabeth clearly invests a lot of time and emotion in each of her adoptee's and seems to be diligent in making sure they each go to good loving homes. We finished the process, ended up adopting Brock. We couldn't be happier with the choice to use Marley's pit stop and feel we have made a great friend and god mother for little Brock in Elizabeth. Thank you!

There is a feline section for adoptees available and a canine section for adoptees available. My little girl was dropped off just the day before so her stay there was brief, but I could tell she was in wonderful hands. Her cubby had a blanket, a bed, a toy, wet food and churu, evidence that they try to make their animals comfortable as they await their new owners. Most important the facility is clean. I left with information on how to best care for Giselle and a coupon for her first vet visit to the VCA. I would definitely recommend folks to stop in and love on these animals and find one that fits into your home. If you aren't ready to adopt, they accept donations of pet food, pet items, blankets and towels. I will always come back to visit and donate to this organization. Staff here is super friendly and efficient getting everyone checked in and processed for their animal's spay/neuter. The veterinarians here are compassionate and highly efficient proceduralists. Our dog's recovery was so smooth that we were surprised - her incision site was so small and she barely needed her isolation cone. By the next day she was walking around, and her appetite/elimination had returned to normal. The facility itself is so clean and well maintained - the kennels are spotless and tidy, and it's definitely a place where I would trust leaving my household/beloved pet. Parking is narrow and the lot is small, so be careful pulling in and out of the lot. Nearby the side streets are a bit rougher with some shadier types lurking around the corners. If you're coming here for spay/neuter services you're likely here during the day so it's not a factor, but something to be aware of. If you're able to get on their wait list and/or lottery to get seen by their vets, it's totally worth it. Highest recommendation.

They were upfront about the fact he had seizures and because he was older there was no way to know if he had epilepsy (you can find this out when they are puppies apparently) or if it was caused by something else. He also had a heart condition that could literally take him at any time. I think they were afraid I wouldn't adopt him with that kind of information but I'm not one of those people that will only adopt a "perfect dog". He was adorable and had such a gentle disposition that I fell in love immediately. When I met him he was at the animal hospital on Venice and they had little info on his previous life except to say he was found running on the 60 freeway. The rescue graciously said they would pay for any medication for his seizures and a few other things but I refused because they had done their part and I wanted them to put their money to other dogs in need. I committed to care for Peanut for the rest of his life, whatever that looked like. Many more health problems arose like skin cancer that required very delicate lifesaving surgery, neurological problems and the seizures got worse till medication was definitely required. (seizures were rare when I got him) Peanut lived to the ripe old age of 18 despite his health issues. I am so grateful for Perfect Pet and the fact they rescued an older dog with health issues that most would just put down. Peanut was such a gift and I was so lucky to be able to give him a comfortable, loving home till his final day. I only have one request for people wanting to adopt, please take a look at the older dogs, they are such loving creatures and its not fair they are overlooked because of their advanced age. When you are elderly I'm sure you'd want a loving place to be instead of being tossed away. In memory of Peanut. :)
