Chicken fried, king ranch chicken, dinner roll, turnip greens, mashed potatoes, sweet potato pie
Jeremy T.

This is an interesting find with prices from the 1970s. There are 3 dining rooms with the cafeteria line in the central room when you walk in. They have about 8 entrees, 8 or 9 sides, and about 7 pies to choose from on a daily basis. Each day has its own special too. Prices are basically a la carte, unless you order a special meal deal which includes an entree, 2 sides and a roll for about $5.69. I chose to order a special, added a 2nd entree, a dessert and a tea all for around $12. I picked chicken fried steak and the daily entree, king ranch chicken. For my two sides, I picked turnip greens and mashed potatoes. Everything was good, but the roll, turnip greens and sweet potato pie were my favorite items. I can vouch all three of those are homemade. The mashed potatoes were powdered, not homemade. The CFS and king ranch chicken were just okay, I've had better. For the steak, the meat was too tender and a low quality grade of beef. If I lived here, I'd definitely visit all the time...my waistline thanks me that I dont.

Fried fish, roll, deviled eggs, cucumbers in vinegar, sweet potato casserole, pecan pie...

One of Magnolia's all time favorites. Good southern food and lots of friendly people to share it with. Family atmosphere.

We love the food, staff, ambience, friendliness...everything about this place! True home cooking,…read more"like grandma" and bff style friendliness, which I love! So clean and comfy. We discovered them about 8 months ago while traveling through, needing some less processed options than typical eatout food, and tried it. Sooo glad we did! So now that we're in the area again we knew this is where we wanted to go. We even ordered extra meals to take with us for tomorrow! Ignore the lower star reviews bc they have nothing to do with quality (and no, the food is not bland)! If you want fancy highly processed and over seasoned gut burning food, don't go here - go to an impersonal restaurant serving commercial processed foods. Mother Kelley's is true homestyle flavors, meaning it's not fancy but it's home cooked comfort food (real ingredients) like my grandmother's was (mid 20th century); you'll love it!

The corn appeared to be canned and was apparently let to boil on the stove had no flavor whatsoever the potatoes were cold and could have used seasoning the corn muffin was very dry and no butter was provided we were very disappointed as I had read other reviews that made us want to try it.
