Its About Time - Our watchmakers hard at work

I rarely leave reviews this long, but I genuinely feel people should be warned before bringing an…read moreexpensive watch here. I brought in a Rolex watch for service. From the beginning, the experience was frustrating, unprofessional, and honestly one of the worst customer service experiences I've had in a long time. The staff I dealt with, Shabana, was extremely rude and dismissive whenever I tried to ask reasonable questions about the repair process or pricing. The biggest issue was the pricing and lack of transparency. I was quoted OVER $3,000 to repair a watch worth around $8,000. When I asked for an itemized invoice, I still never received a proper professional breakdown showing actual labor costs, exact parts pricing, or clear justification for the amount being charged. The "estimate" was basically handwritten notes with vague descriptions like "overhaul x3," "gear set," "jewels," etc. What made this even more concerning was that I contacted official and other reputable watch service centers afterward and received estimates that were literally LESS THAN HALF of what this shop was charging. That alone should tell people something. The pricing also kept changing. That does not inspire confidence in the legitimacy of the pricing structure. I understand luxury watches are expensive to repair. I understand water damage can require additional work. I am NOT complaining because I expected a cheap repair. I'm complaining because the pricing felt extremely inflated and the business practices felt very questionable. To make matters worse, the polishing work was not even done properly and had 3 months for service but even they did not have the crystal to replace. For the amount being charged, I expected near-professional finishing quality, and it simply was not there. Every time I tried to calmly discuss the invoice, compare estimates, or ask for clarification, the conversation became defensive and hostile. Eventually I gave up trying to communicate because it felt impossible to have a normal customer conversation. Please be careful if you are bringing a high-end watch here. I'm sure many of the positive reviews may come from basic battery replacements, simple resizing, or standard low-cost repairs. But based on my experience, I would strongly discourage anyone from trusting this place with an expensive luxury watch repair unless you are prepared for: * extremely high pricing, * poor transparency, * aggressive communication, * and questionable value compared to authorized or reputable service centers. Do your research first. Get multiple estimates. Ask for a REAL itemized invoice before approving anything. And definitely compare with the manufacturer's official service center before leaving your watch here.

I left the store crying…read more I visited right when they opened to have a gold ring weighed and the stones tested to see if they were real. As a young woman in her early 20s, this was my first time ever visiting a jewelry store. I simply wanted basic information and guidance to understand its value. A close friend had recommended this store and spoke highly of their service, so I went in with high expectations. When I asked about weighing and testing the ring, Simon (the owner) initially implied he couldn't help. After I mentioned a friend had recommended them, I was questioned about who my friend was and where I got the ring, which immediately felt uncomfortable. When the owner looked at the ring, he repeatedly asked, "What do you want to do with it? Are you trying to sell it?" I explained honestly that I didn't know yet -- I just wanted to understand its value first. He responded very sternly, "We buy gold here." I apologized and said I didn't realize that was one of their services. Instead of explaining, the tone quickly became impatient and hostile. The owners voice was hot-tempered, which made me feel talked down to and embarrassed. The interaction was so uncomfortable that I became visibly emotional and ended up CRYING in the store -- something that should never happen during a simple customer service visit. He continued pressing me about if I had the intention of selling. His wife then told me they didn't want to give out "free information" unless I intended to sell to them. To be fair, his wife did speak to me more kindly and calmly, but reinforced that Simon is very busy and really only wants to help if you're looking to sell. I understand I was not a priority since I'd never done business with them before, but basic courtesy shouldn't depend on whether someone is making an immediate sale. Weighing gold and testing stones are quick, standard services that most jewelers provide. I came in respectfully asking for help and could have been a future customer, but instead felt unwelcome and judged. To make matters worse, they quoted me a price which I later learned was far below its actual value. Overall, I would not recommend this business. Big spenders get smiles -- everyone else gets attitude.
