Had him first take care of my primary bathroom work, added another bathroom work. Both came out very well even though it was not a simply task due to floor itself in poor condition. Another time wanted to replace the kitchen faucet. Far simpler task but done well. Since that was quick, added some garage cabinet door fix work. I enjoyed working with him, listening to his advice and even helped him some with getting the job done well. Mark is - in a word - fantastic! I had an unusual job at hand - make my strangely designed, very shaky/rickety platform bed super solid and firm. I looked on Craig's List and Mark's services description -- "creative solutions" caught my eye. Creative he needed to be for this job - and creative he was! We emailed back and forth ahead of time and I sent him pictures of the bed so he could get an idea of what needed to be done and arrive with wood and other supplies on hand so he could finish the work in one visit. Wasted my entire day! Called up Mark to set up a time for him to assemble some bookshelves for the next day, and he picked up right away and was available. Just asked me to text him he address. Great! ... not really. Never got a response confirming the address, but whatever, no big deal. Next day, 40 minutes after his scheduled arrival, I text him to ask if he is still coming. Then, he tells me that he has been caught up on another job that has become more complicated. Tells me he will let me know when he is done with his current job to see if it would still work. Finally get a follow up from him 4 hours and 56 minutes after his scheduled arrival time that he will not be able to make it and we need to reschedule for another day. I didn't bother and went with another service that was more reliable. Would NOT recommend, since the point of a handyman is to reduce headache, not increase it read more

I had to choose a handyman to help me with lugging a 65in plasma across town to my daughter's condo for a Christmas present. I left a message on Mark's phone and crossed my fingers. He texted back with a time he could be here and his fees. With great relief, he was on time and ready to attack. We had to beast this thing (I'm an old lady) down a flight of stairs, past all of the cats and out the door and onto his truck bed. We drove across town in horrendous traffic and then he removed the tv from her living room wall and reinstalled in her bedroom and then installed the behemoth in the living room. This was no easy task. Without a single complaint he quickly and perfectly installed both TVs and left only after making certain that everything was in proper working order. Mark- an awesome handyman! I called Mark for assembling an ergonomic sit/stand desk with keyboard tray. It was really difficult job for me, involving drilling holes on the desk top and mounting the keyboard tray with it. But, Mark made it happen! He asked me to send him instructions for assembling this unusual desk, beforehand. And he came prepared! :-) He did really a good job of putting all together. We were looking for somebody to help install a small dog door. We thought we had somebody lined up but when they found out that we didn't want to go with the $900 custom dog door that they install, they refused to call us back. Thankfully, Mark was quick to respond, highly professional, and able to come to do an estimate within a couple of days. He was also prepared to do the work that day, which he did! I was looking for a handyman to install two safety grab bars in my mother-in-laws bathroom. A neighbor recommenced Mark Riller. Mark gave me a very reasonable price over the phone and arrival on time. The two bars that I ordered didn't come with anchors and there was no stud to support for one side of a bar, but luckily Mark has some anchors with him. He finished installing the two bars in about an hour, and cleaned up the area. When it was time to pay him, he didn't ask us to pay for the anchors. I felt that we should pay him the materials he provided since his labor fee was very reasonable. So we gave him extra for the materials. I contacted Mark through Yelp after having a very long problem with a cracked pipe under my home. Mark offered to come out the same evening even though I mentioned I wouldn't be home until after 7pm. I expected him to give me an estimate and a future date to when he could come out and fix it. I'm extremely thankful to say he fixed it that evening! Even though the location of the cracked pipe was a lot more complicated than it appeared to get to and it was disgusting and wet, Mark had no problem crawling in the complete dark area under my home to get to it and fix it. After going to Home Depot to get more durable parts to replace it with to ensure I wouldn't have this problem again, he had it fixed in no time! We recently had Mark come in and help out with a couple of things in our house. We are very impressed with the quality of the work done, his professionalism and very reasonable rates. Here is some detail on what Mark worked on at our house We needed help with installing a very heavy fountain and found Mark on Yelp. We called and and asked him whether he was available anytime soon. He agreed to come in the very next day (a Sunday) and asked us to text him the fountain details (make, model etc) in advance. He had done some advance research before he came in the next day and so was very well prepared. Net net he did a great job in installing/setting up the fountain. My wife and I think it looks even better than what we saw in the store demo model. We had also noticed in one of the reviews that he had done great work on a bed. My wife and I decided to ask Mark whether he could convert our Cal King bed to a regular (Eastern King) bed. To our pleasant surprise Mark volunteered to take a look at the bed after he finished up with the fountain. He assessed the work, decided he could get it done pretty quickly, went out and got some wood for the slats from the local Home Depot and was done in about an hour. Mark is a very angry man! I hired Mark to replace my gutters. He looked at them and said they were not in bad shape and with a few patches, they would not require replacement. Sounded great. He did the work on a day when I was not there, and when we met afterwards, I checked the gutters and saw that along one wall alone, there were so many patches you couldn't even count them....literally dozens of patches. When I asked him about it, he became very, very angry. I mean REALLY ANGRY! I couldn't believe his behavior. His excuse for all the patches was that he hadn't scheduled the time to do a gutter replacement, and further said that this fix would last me a season or two. What!!!?? Why would I want to fix my gutters for just a season or two? When I commented that he could have stopped, and called me, and scheduled for a day when he had more time to do the proper replacement, he lost it....literally YELLING AT ME in my own house! I paid the man just to get him out of my house! Lastly, when I got up there myself and ran the hose along the gutter, IT STILL LEAKED!!! Would never, ever, ever hire him for anything again. Mark is as professional as they come - simply put. I recently moved into a new place and needed 4 TVs mounted in different rooms. Mark came by and completed the task a little over an hour!
