I got three estimates, one company was more interested in doing my masonry, the other company was trying to give me the hard sell, "what do you need to think about?" A1 had copies of their Insurance & license in their packet. The other guys, "yeah, we've got that." Dennis knew a ridgeline vent wouldn't work on my install. The other companies said I had to install it. Everything I read said you don't mix an attic fan with a ridgeline vent. The last company, (Brothers Aluminum) said, "We're a GAF gold installer, 25 year GAF warranty, what do you need to think about." He was so arrogant that when he left I called GAF tech line. They said "A1 Roofing is right, Brother's Aluminum is wrong. You don't mix a ridgeline vent and attic fan. We have a technical bulletin on our website." Go with A1 Roofing, I shouldn't have to become an expert on roofing systems, and neither should you. A1 Roofing knows what they're doing.

I researched and got estimates from about a half-dozen gutter companies and decided on LI Gutters…read moreas their price was reasonable, their service personable and friendly AND they returned calls promptly, which always surprises me with service companies. They came when they said they would, called first, did a really fast and excellent job on our repairs and installation. I had also called them way back at the start of 2014 when we first saw that we needed work but didn't actually get around to hiring someone until now, November. They honored their January estimate. My only problem (and I admit it was my fault) was the end estimate was higher than they originally quoted because we needed fascia replaced. They did tell me that would be extra, and they told me the per foot price. I forgot about that "small detail" so when they gave me the bill I was surprised at the higher amount, but then they explained it to me and I remembered they did tell me that, so it was my bad. They did do extra work and/or gave me an aluminum cover for the replaced wood fascia and did not charge me the extra amount it would have been. LOVE IT!!!! Oh, and one other thing; they originally made a mistake on the color of the gutter and so had to return a second day with the proper color but of course did not charge me extra. This was a small and understandable mistake which they promptly made good on. The workers were fast, came when they said they would, worked quietly and very cleanly. No evidence anyone had been there (we had watched them work intermittently so of course we knew they were there!) because they cleaned everything up so well. Office staff, workers and Paul (the owner?) himself were very polite and nice. What a delightful change from most companies nowadays. Highly recommend them.
