I researched and got estimates from about a half-dozen gutter companies and decided on LI Gutters as their price was reasonable, their service personable and friendly AND they returned calls promptly, which always surprises me with service companies. They came when they said they would, called first, did a really fast and excellent job on our repairs and installation. I had also called them way back at the start of 2014 when we first saw that we needed work but didn't actually get around to hiring someone until now, November. They honored their January estimate. My only problem (and I admit it was my fault) was the end estimate was higher than they originally quoted because we needed fascia replaced. They did tell me that would be extra, and they told me the per foot price. I forgot about that "small detail" so when they gave me the bill I was surprised at the higher amount, but then they explained it to me and I remembered they did tell me that, so it was my bad. They did do extra work and/or gave me an aluminum cover for the replaced wood fascia and did not charge me the extra amount it would have been. LOVE IT!!!! Oh, and one other thing; they originally made a mistake on the color of the gutter and so had to return a second day with the proper color but of course did not charge me extra. This was a small and understandable mistake which they promptly made good on. The workers were fast, came when they said they would, worked quietly and very cleanly. No evidence anyone had been there (we had watched them work intermittently so of course we knew they were there!) because they cleaned everything up so well. We recently had Long Island Gutters installed on the front and rear of our home. Brian is great, he returned our call quickly, happened to be in the area, and gave us a fantastic quote for the work we wanted done. We were really impressed with his "pitch" on gutter guards. He brought out many gutter guards that you see advertised on TV and the internet showing us why they won't work. Scheduled a cleaning. Standard package of 275. These guys also put on my gutter screens few years ago. Not a very good experience this time. I guess these guys are so busy they don't care. 1. They used my garden hose to clean my gutters. Shouldn't they bring their own equipment? Now the hose has some leakage. 2. When they finished, they had to be reminded to clean up the junk they scooped out of the gutters. Did not do a good job of that either. They were just going to leave that in my yard. 3. Very hard to schedule the time slot you need. They essentially do not tell you when they are coming until the morning of the appointment. 4. After they left, there were 3 missing shingles from my roof. See attached picture. I called them to complain. I just want them to put my shingles back. They didn't believe me and said "sorry. Nothing we can do." My word against the word of their staff. I then had to waste an entire morning buy and installing 3 missing shingles. All in all, not a good experience. If you do use them, watch them like a hawk. Check everything. read more

So disappointed in this company. When my family was in the process of renovating our house, Long Island Gutters sold us the Gutter Shield gutter system that was twice the price as their other products under the premise that we would never have to clean our gutters again (this is a promise they make on their website). This was not the case, as we have needed to have the gutters cleaned a multitude of times since the installation. Now they are claiming that they no longer sell that product so they refuse to send anyone to clean these gutters unless we pay for it. This is completely ridiculous and horrible business, they falsely advertised and sold us a product that is ineffective and are now trying to make us pay for a product and service that they themselves clearly do not stand behind. After only getting a phone estimate (from Paul Karlos - who came to my house twice WITHOUT AN APPOINTMENT, both times I didn't answer doorbell), during the call I tell Paul I will be getting multiple estimates & I need to speak to my husband then get back to him (which I NEVER did). Then Long Island Gutters sent 3 men out to my house at 8:30AM this morning. They started working on my roof!! They didn't even ring my doorbell to speak with me. All of a sudden I hear a ladder open up & then men walking on my roof, working!!! Startled and shocked, I went outside to see what was going on. The men said, "didn't you request service?" I said "NO!!" They pulled out a piece of paper with an amount of $600.00 marked on it! Which was $325.00 more than the phone estimate!! I said what the F is going on?! I told them to take their ladder down & leave immediately! I called the office of Long Island Gutters and gave them a piece of my mind. I was LIVID & rightly so. They told me, "it must've been a misunderstanding", "it's not a big deal." I said "IT IS A BIG DEAL." What if these people did something to my roof or my gutters to purposely damage them so they'd have something to repair? There was definite banging. What were they doing? What kind of scam operation are they running? Then the awful representative contacted me (Paul Karlos), he acted like he did nothing wrong, didn't apologize, called me a derogatory name & told me to F*ck off, then hung up on me. What a horrible experience!!! How is this business still operating? Absolutely awful. I can't even begin to fully articulate the disgust my husband & I feel about what happened. Obviously the owner, George Dimou didn't train his employees properly. This Co. is a DISGRACE. How do you make that kind of mistake then not be immediately apologetic? What?!! UNBELIEVABLE. Make sure you check the work before they leave the property. I purchased new gutters and downspouts which was quick and efficient. They next day when checking the downspout in the back of the house I realized the bottom piece where the water exits was turned towards my wooden picket fence and not away from it which I had to adjust. Also half way down the downspout where it bends over the wooden fence, the downspout rested on top of the fence instead of above it which caused me to remove the screws from the bracket and drill new holes to move the downspout to where it no longer rested on my fence. Please double check their work. For $700.00 and a 50.00 tip I was disappointed. read more

I called them about 4 -5 times after my initial quote. All I needed was a revised quote. I needed new gutters installed asap because we finished the new siding. Because I could not get a revised quote I was unable to schedule an install date. Everyone I spoke to either had no clue, couldnt give me an answer or promised to call me back and never did. The only reason I didnt entertain another company is because they were highly recommended. This company put me in a position where my house has had no gutters and no sight of install for over 3 weeks. I was beyond nice and patient with them the entire time. All I wanted to do was schedule them regardless of the price difference for the missed section on my original quote. Long Island Gutters is disorganized, unprofessional and a complete waste of time. They will take your money but will not answer you when there is a problem with their service. They gave me an estimate to clean my gutters but when the workers looked at them, they told me no cleaning was needed. I made the mistake of paying the workers instead of contesting the estimate. The workers suggested a fix for my gutter overflow problem, but Long Island Gutters refused to talk to me about it because I asked if they might consider installing a bypass and include it in the money I already paid them. We heard good things about this company and would like the opportunity to write a favorable review if we could receive an estimate and consider having work done. Unfortunately, no one calls us back. My neighbor (we are in a townhouse complex) called them last month and they allegedly came to measure four homes, including mine, but her repeated subsequent calls have not produced an estimate. I have called three times now and the woman at the other end has claimed that someone would get back to me in 24-48 hours. And then? Nothing. This morning I called again and was told our job would be reassigned to "Paul" and that he would call at the end of today. Well, that time has come and gone and we have heard nothing. I called to get an estimate on having two gutters repaired due to a storm. The price was great, but I called 2 times and never received a call back. I called to schedule the work and wanted to know how much extra to replace the fascia board. I was told that Long Island Gutters does not replace the fascia board anymore that it takes too much time for the work to be done. I wanted someone to call me back to find out for sure this was true and installing gutters when the fascia board is rotted would not make sense and I can not believe a company would knowingly install a gutter if the fascia board is damaged. I have not received a call back. There was my answer. Would not call them or use Long Island Gutters again. I found another company that repaired the fascia board and installed the gutters and they did a wonderful job. read more

Their price was about 20 percent lower and they offered the half round heavier gauge gutters I was looking for. Paul gave a timely estimate and the office called every morning when the truck was on its way. The work was of the highest level and I couldn't be happier. Just recently purchased a home I had water issues in the back of my house. We called 4 companies for quotes and went with Long Island Gutters on recommendation from my neighbor who is a contractor. Long Island Gutters went beyond the call of duty. My former husband and physicist decided to out smart the squirrel population with his hand crafted baffles and proceeded to place metal plates over each gutter down spout. Squirrels are like slinkies and can get around most obstacles. I knew his handiwork to be folly but a woman knows when to keep an opinion behind pursed lips. Trees had been cut back and access, he assumed, was now being given by the down spouts. Needless to say, the baffles didn't keep the squirrels from entering a hole in the soffit. The wood had deteriorated from a winter ice jam. The "baffles" were to be taken down but, don't do today what you can put off until tomorrow, came into play. A call was made to get the soffits repaired and along with that the gutters had to be removed. The work was done very well and very fast. I can not tell you what the workers thought of the bent metal plates attached to the house walls but they put them back like they belonged. I laughed that they had been forgotten and that now had just been professionally re-installed. How embarrassing! In Missouri we take care of the squirrel population in another fashion...dinner. (No, it does not taste like chicken.) LI Gutters left nothing to show that they had done a job other than the great new, pristine, ventilated soffits. Life is so much better without the sound of scampering squirrels in the attic. read more
