If you are doing home renovations, I highly recommend Nick at Veteran's Construction and Repair; he…read moreworks hard, is a legitimate craftsman, and treats your house as if it were his own. Last week, I consulted Nick to finish the drywall in my guest bathroom. Other companies I had called before didn't answer their phones and still haven't returned my calls! Nick, on the other hand, responded quickly and was able to stop by for an estimate that same day. When Nick arrived, he was pleasant, courteous, and professional. He quoted me a very fair, competitive price for the work I needed and gave me several options to stay within my budget. I didn't feel pressured at all and agreed to give Veteran's Construction and Repair my business. Nick started work the next day, showing up with everything he needed. He worked tirelessly for a total of three days, patiently perfecting the drywall in my bathroom. I was frequently away from the house while Nick was working, but never once felt concerned that he wouldn't take care of my place. When complete, the drywall that Nick finished was flawless; he didn't rush the process and clearly has a strong attention to detail. Again, I highly recommend Veteran's Construction and Repair. Having lived in the Clarksville area since 2013, I know that there are other companies that take advantage of military families; Veteran's Construction and Repair is NOT one of those companies. If you need work done on your home, if you want to do business with someone you can trust, if you want phenomenal results, call Nick up.

We hired Dalton's Carpet Outlet for carpet installation and had a very disappointing experience…read morefrom start to finish. Communication was poor throughout the project. Scheduling was disorganized, with multiple changes and reschedules that caused unnecessary disruption to our home and family routine. When you are replacing flooring, timing matters -- and we did not feel that our time was respected. The initial installation required correction, which added further inconvenience. After issues were addressed and a balance adjustment was agreed upon, Cy contacted my wife directly requesting additional personal payment through Zelle/Venmo. This was completely inappropriate and unprofessional. Payment matters should go through proper company channels -- not personal payment apps. Overall, we did not feel that the level of care, professionalism, or customer consideration matched what we paid for. We expect contractors to communicate clearly, honor scheduling commitments, stand behind their work properly, and handle disputes professionally. Unfortunately, that was not our experience.

We hired Ballard Construction to do some work at our home. The "CEO" came out and did the bid but…read morethen had a subcontractor do all of the work. While this is not uncommon, the quality of the work by the subcontractor was terrible. The workers were not reliable and the finish work was terrible (they left light fixtures and wires on the outside of walls, put sheetrock over the gas key port next to our fireplace, did not cover tile floors while doing sheetrock), mounted outlets crooked. When reaching out to the "CEO", he made excuses and would commit to coming by to review the work and then not show up. When he did show up, he made excuses and where there were some issues with workmanship, he would recommend solutions that did not even meet base construction standards nor building codes (at least the subcontractor knew to correct him). Ultimately, I had to just negotiate a payment to get him out of my house and then hired another company to finish the work. When the new contractor and subcontractor walked through the area, they were amazed about how bad the work actually was. I had to pay them to correct almost everything - and, while I know that some contractors might say there is an issue when there isn't just to jack up the price - anyone could see the issues because they were so blatant.
