A wardrobe filled with beautifully designed, top quality and classic styling. I'm crazy about the design concept of the store. The simple white walls, copper ceiling and rustic display furniture allow the merchandise to speak for itself . Obviously the owner had carefully selected designer pieces that would amalgamate well with the in-store label, Kin. The store collections are all about simplicity and minimalism. Each design is like a piece of art with high craftsmanship. They look amazing on their own, and even better when injected with your individuality. Sydney's also has great selection of denim, like Naked and Famous, Them Altelier and Rick Owens. Along with a small selection of awesome looking shoes, bags and small leather goods. I bought a great looking in-house label suit. The owner/designer was terrific and helpful. He took the time to explain his design, the fabric, as well as the overall construction of the suit. He didn't stop there, he showed me how great the suit would look after alterations. "Look at that, I had no idea that a suit could make my backside looks this good." Sold! Wrap that baby up!

This is a disaster. Some years ago I'd spend thousands and thousands of dollars at this chain of stores. I'd spontaneously buy things I found there at reg price just because they fit well and looked good. GR actually helped me (6'-6", 36 waist, 15 shoe) build a decent casual fashion wardrobe for some years. and I scooped most anything they stocked that could use, as did other tall slim locals like me (it was competitive and sizes went fast.) Now this is a dead store for me. :-( Not bitter, and thanks GR for the help in years past. It was a uniquely helpful experience for tall men.

Lately, there seemed to be a price jump and their aesthetics have changed. It's definitely more fussier with less office wear. I feel they're more targetting someone in California than someone in Toronto. The storefront reminds you of a boutique storefront that took over an old Victorian home. Instead of an open modern space, the store is cut into small rooms and it's very hard to get an idea of all the clothes available. Im sure I've missed out on some decent pieces ever since they changed to this way. As for the quality and costs, I think the quality has held over time but the costs certainly have gone up. A short sleeved flowy cotton top $150? Simple cotton shift is $180? None of these designs have intricate stitching or designs.... they're all simple basics. Yes they are better than Banana Republic but are they 3 times better? No. As for service, I find it hit and miss. Sometimes you'll have a really nice and helpful staff and then the other times, a dismissive bored staff who is constantly on their phone. I think I've stopped consistently coming to Club Monaco once they moved to their new spot and changed their staff. Sometimes they have good deals and you can find a decent item but with all the recent changes, good luck finding it!

The customer service has been consistently great whenever I come in and their always ready to serve you whether you buy something or not. I always find that some of their stores elsewhere are a bit of a snob (and I have an issue about that, thus I do not go back there unless I really have to) but this store is welcoming. So that is a MAJOR plus. And the selections are spread out really nicely and I like the look the new store has compared to the other ones I saw. And oh, they have a little display of pre-loved/vintage chanel pieces if your interested. Which I never knew they carried!
