I love the fact that the Sales Associates are NOT on commission, yet they still provide fantastic customer service. As long as I don't wear the boots outside and they stay in the same condition, I can return them within 2 weeks if needed. They have a wall of high quality clearance footwear of at VERY GOOD prices. They had a variety of top quality sandals and purchased a pair which fit me correctly. He is a very avid runner and needed new shoes so we took him to Closeout Shoes believing that he would receive the same kind of quality service and customer care that we had come to expect. Unfortunately, he made a purchase that he came to regret when I urged him to wear the shoes around the house for a while. He was experiencing buyer's remorse. I assured him that any "reputable" shoe retailer would take back the shoes with a refund since they were not used outside the house. Apparently, I was wrong with regard to Closeout Shoes. You see they have signs in the store that say "ALL SALES FINAL" that neither of us noticed. When the purchase was made we were not given any VERBAL warning about their unusual store policy. In all my years of dealing with this retailer, I have never noticed these signs before. The owner refused to offer a refund of in spite my family's years of loyal patronage. My takeaway from this is that in her mind, enforcement of store policy is far more important than customer care. caveat emptor!

The reason I really love this place, though, is that they stock Birkenstock's blue arch supports. $45, and a better product than the custom arch supports people buy for hundreds of dollars. For those of you with fallen arches/flat feet & the corresponding back pain, these arch supports are blue gold.
