She is friendly and caring - always checking whether I am ok during her drilling interludes. She is very thorough, making me tap and grind several times after the filling or crown is on, to make sure my bite is accurate. She has a very gentle touch and has once even made me forget that she was inserting a needle into my mouth. Also - I very much dig the interior decor of her office. Some of the ordinary tiles on the ceilings have been replaced with images of the clear sky, making me feel more relaxed and thinking of the beautiful sunny day ahead. i definitely would recommend her.

Dr. Portale explained that it would be necessary to extract 8 upper teeth, put posts for implants in, have a temporary bridge made, and then the permanent bridge would of course be last to be put in and adjusted. He requested a little over $19,000 for these services. A 10% deposit was made in haste, but after some thought, my mother decided that his plan to do all that work at her age was too much to go through and wanted a simpler solution to help with her daily living and of course for aesthetics. I called the office and requested my mother be refunded the deposit. After 12 days a portion was returned and it was explained by Dr. Portale himself that the portion he kept ($1100) was for the office visit (She was in his chair for 10 minutes while he temporarily affixed her broken bridge). Dr. Portale stated that my mother had infections in her mouth and that I would ultimately be responsible for the consequences and that he knows a few people that died from mouth infections (My mother had open heart surgery several years ago and is still on blood thinners, she also is suffering from Alzheimer's dementia, so any infection detected needs to be treated immediately). Ask yourself how and why, if she had infections in her mouth, he would let her leave his office with no follow-up or prescription for the infections? As a medical professional the responsibility to consciously not treat what he claimed to be infections in her mouth is a clear breach of any medical professional's ethics. Maybe it was because there are no and were no infections! I had this confirmed the next day by an emergency room Ph.D. who did her blood work and other testing. Dr. Portale's response to that was, "Well what medical school did you go to?, Was he an emergency dental doctor or a medical doctor?", and then proceeded to negate the doctor's findings and blood work results because he was not a dentist, he stated "they don't know anything about the mouth and teeth". Yesterday, it was confirmed by another Nj State Dentistry Board dentist that there are no infections in my mother's mouth. Dr. Portale is THE most unprofessional, unethical, pompous, rude, arrogant, money hungry, condescending liar I have ever had the unfortunate circumstance of dealing with. He speaks with patients and their families as if they are below him because he went to dental school. How he lays his head down on his pillow and sleeps at night knowing how he disrespects and scams his patients and their families is beyond my imagination. He should have his license revoked and never be able to practice dentistry again. I'm hoping to help this process by contacting the NJ State Dental Board and look forward to providing the recordings of Dr. Portale putting us down, cursing at us and finally hanging up the phone without a chance to respond after he felt painted in a corner with the questions we had regarding the infections he insisted my mother had in her mouth. This review is of no reflection on the office staff. The staff that works for Dr. Portale are a group of sweet, caring and professional individuals - a stark contradiction from Dr. Portale. Please research by checking all of the reviews, the NJ State Board of Dentistry complaints and the NJ State Division of Consumer Affairs complaints that were filed regarding Dr. Portale and then get a second opinion.

A big filling needed to come out, got my temporary crown & then waited to see if a root canal was in my immediate future. Luckily my nerve wasn't affected (trust me, at 65+yrs old. I've had a few drillings that turned into root canals). Dr. Yuri used a scanner (with a tool that scans your tooth) to make the permanent crown. Too high tech to explain but my new crown fits perfectly! I'm so relieved with the outcome. I highly recommend this practice.

I've been to dentists who were cold and intimidating , and did not make the process any easier so then I wouldn't go back and the problems would of course worsen. That all changed when I met Dr. Arthur Isakov at Dental Concepts in Glen Cove. I was very nervous and apprehensive, but I walked into a very sterile and clean environment with very high tech equipment. As soon as I met Dr. Isakov I knew I liked him. He has such a warm and funny personality. He is very friendly and approachable. I came to him in a very serious condition where I needed to have all my teeth removed and replaced with either dentures or implants. I've never been more afraid of having to do something like I was with this. But Dr. Isakov and his assistant Luz were both so gentle and caring. The two of them together were so calming and reassuring. Every few minutes he would stop and ask if I was okay. He pulled them all out so quickly! I hardly had time to realize that it was done. I became very emotional afterwards because it was a scary and overwhelming experience for me, but they both hugged me and reassured me that I was okay. Dr. Isakov made sure I understood the post op instructions . That night he actually called me to check on me. He said I can call his cell phone at any time if I had any questions or concerns. He then called me several times over the next few days to make sure I was okay. I have never had a dentist care so much and take time out of their very busy days to check on me. And it's not like he calls to check on me because he feels obligated. You can tell how genuine and sincere he is. He truly cares about his patients. I have my son going to him now and I've told all of Glen Cove about my experience. For me it was so much more than just finding an incredible dentist who is above par, but finding someone who is also a great person. And Dr. Isakov is exactly that. He is an exceptionally experienced and talented dentist, but he is also an amazingly kind and compassionate person. I know this is a long review and I hope whoever needed to hear this has read it. I absolutely recommend Dr Isakov over any other dentist there is. Go see him and speak to him and you will feel the exact same way as I do. It will be the best decision you make. So after the xray is done and NOT BEFORE, he tells me he doesnt replace fillings because in time, his will come out as well and henceforth has to do a crown !!!! He also tells me that if the filling comes out, there had to be decay though there was no evidence of such, and henceforth he has to give an injection and remove more of my tooth. So i then say to him, if there was decay that the prevoius dentist didnt remove and now you are, why dont you remove the decay and do the filling ? Because my fillings dont hold up. Why is that ? decay. But you remove the decay.... AND THIS WENT AROUND IN A LUDICROUS CIRCLE. Then, he tells me that another tooth has to be pullled because it is infected when meanwhile i feel no discomfort and nothing is swollen. And for a cavity that doesnt even bother me, which means nothing has progressed to the nerve or root, this tooth has to be pulled out as well.... and he didnt even discuss the other xrays... This doctor in my opinion is a disgrace and should be avoided.

As for billing matters, Juliette was so thorough and took the time to explain my benefits, what was covered, etc. She was friendly and welcoming :) The office is comfortable and clean. Although it was far for me, it was fairly easy to get to by public transportation. Overall, I had a good experience.
