Super easy to make a tee-time. Go to the website and chose the date/time/number of players and after creating an account, you're done. Sort of surprising that they don't make you put a card in to hold the time like several other courses do on their reservation portals, but because of what comes next, I understand why. buttervalley.teesnap.net/ A few observations: Make sure you read the fine print that the rates listed are cash only rates. If you're paying with a card, you will eat their processing charges. The course for being in January was in about as good of shape as you could expect. Good amount of mud along the pathways between holes, most of the greens were like concrete, most of the cups were filled with ice, etc. Supposedly, we had the second tee time of the day, yet magically, there were already four groups of four out playing. Hmmmm? The first few holes were log jammed but eventually the spacing thankfully improved on it's own and things got better. Here are my two pet peeves. None of the markers were out. Orange tee is where? White tee is where? The yellows were there but anything else required a bit of guess work. Here's the biggie. The yardage for the holes. The score card says X. The stone marker at the hole says Y. A few of the holes (a few par 3's from what I remember) have a marker in the ground at the tee which says Z. Why is it this confusing to just list what the yardage actually is versus having a 20-40 yard swing? Conceptually, Butter Valley is basically the cousin to Sawmill in Easton. Is this course really 4 stars? Probably not, but, I'll give it to them because they stay open year round which is a plus and you cannot beat their winter pricing to walk 18. We'll be back.

Course is stunning, but the pace of play is slow me and a buddy had a tee time for 5:48 took til…read more8:15 to get through 9, we were scheduled for 18, got back to the clubhouse which closed at 7, called the next day seeing if maybe we could get a voucher for 9 since we paid for 18 and only made it through 9, and the lady was rude on the phone saying we shouldn't have done 18 at 5:48 and that it was our fault Even though they put us in for 18. Needless to say very unhelpful staff and definitely changes my mind on going back anytime soon, next time if this happens we'll just play through the dark and see how they like it.

The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars is because the freaking 4th hole is out of order! It is a Par 5 too! I love my Par 5s, so I was pretty bummed that what would have been one of my favorite golf experiences (finally broke 100!) would have been practically perfect. The hole must be closed because of complaints from the people whose properties are right next to the hole. Their yards are just on the other side of a line of mostly bushes. There is about 15 feet of distance between the play area and where those yards "begin." I imagine players have hit a huge number of balls onto the property. I got to play at a discount, but I'm not sure that I would play there at full price with this situation and all. I really hope that they quickly erect a fence because the course is otherwise fantastic!

I went with some friends one evening, and we got a few buckets of balls to take to the driving range. Pretty affordable, and they'll lend out golf clubs, which was nice since I don't have any, and we all had a fun time hitting balls into the field. They have mini-golf and batting cages available, and I would definitely try that on a future visit. They stay open pretty late, especially on Fridays, so I'd totally try it again. I think kids would probably enjoy it as well, though probably not late at night :P

The drinks were fine and fairly priced. My partner did not like his pepperoni pizza but he loved the potato skins. I ordered the fish tacos which appeared to have frozen fish filets. I liked that they were spicy but I wasn't a fan of the fish itself. We had a great time and I appreciated their cleaning in between customers. Some came and wiped down the area after bowlers were finished. They also have a beautiful space for private parties and games on the opposite end of the facility. They are connected to a full service bar that has outdoor seating. We plan to return.

I only came up with one negative, our group required a forecaddy which is usually a benefit, ours never quite grasped the length of the games of our group and routinely gave very incorrect reads on the greens. Furthermore, the lack of guidance from the tee from him meant we used our laser devices to figure distances from the tees to the various bunkers, trees, etc as opposed to being guided by our caddy. We weren't accompanied by a member, so maybe he was learning the ropes with us but he seemed a senior caddy and overall that part of the experience was disappointing.

Great old classic course set on a very pretty price of rolling land. The name rolling green really…read moresuites the course well. It's a beautiful tract of rolling hills that you play through. A great mix of long and shorter holes and the greens are superbly contoured and offer great rewards when you know where to hit the ball! They were rolling very fast when we started play but they did seem to slow up noticeably as our round progressed which was probably due to the excessive heat we had when we played. Tees, fairways, rough are all clearly defined and in perfect condition. Rarely are you set up with a completely blind shot and the rough is accordingly penal when you get very wild off the tee. Bunkers are all pretty even and maintained very well by the staff and caddies, nothing like ending up in someone else's Unraked bunker, that doesn't happen here. Speaking of caddies, ours was professional very friendly but took a few holes to get the hang of the distances we hit the ball but once he did he was dialed in. Not sure if it's club policy but as a forcaddy, he carried around everyone's putter without headcovers. I can't do that as dings don't settle well with me so he kept the cover on mine. The food in the restaurant was very good and the waitstaff was really attentive, it's definitely a 5 star club and one worth playing over and over again!

Axe throwing is one of those fun things from Yelp Elite Event's past that I've been craving to do…read moreagain for awhile now. Going to the Malvern location of Splitting Edge (review coming in the not too distant future) for a fun Halloween party scratched the itch for me, but as my gf and I talked with our circle of friends we realized we weren't the only ones craving throwdown. While we were looking forward to going to the Malvern location again, when we learned that only the Pottstown location had availability for the Friday night we were looking to book, we chalked it up as an opportunity to explore the area beforehand and make a good evening of it. And from seeing the awesome lumberjack inspired mural art that my friend Alloyius Mcilwaine painted downstairs, to playing three very different and hella fun rounds of axe throwing team games, to ending the evening by striking poses within their Game of Thrones-inspired wooden throne, it proved to be one of the most fun game nights I've had in awhile! Back in the day, I used to do pretty good with my throwing, but when I started out the evening I was having some off moments which I just chalked up to me being rusty. But our ax expert for the evening, Will, watched my throwing like a hawk, grabbed me an ax with a longer handle to use, and showed me some pointers that had me getting near bullseye shots in no time. Since it's a BYOB spot we also brought some crowlers for the brewery next door after we learned that they didn't do to-go cans only to realize that we also had no cups. But the friendly staff was quick to provide them for us. Doing those things and even giving us a little more time to throw after our session ended were just some of the ways that their team went above and beyond to accommodate our crew. At first, I thought the traditional play where the first team to get a certain amount of points without going over would have been my favorite game of the night. But then for the second they busted out the balloons on the board and gave us the chance to either lose points by bursting our balloons or to sabotage the other team's game by bursting their balloons to have them lose points. The third game of snakes and ladders was a little trickier to follow but also made for a fun time. Overall it was a great time that really scratched my itch and left me ready for another throwdown!
