This building is a heritage site and a part of Exhibition Place. I worked at The Ex (Canadian National Exhibition) three different summers. My third stint was a cashier position for a Mexican eatery that was at the Automotive Building. It was just before I started my fourth and last year of undergraduate studies. It was cool working in this building. There were vintage cars that were also in this space. I probably didn't appreciate them as much as I do now, but it's nice looking back knowing that there were indeed car exhibits in this building. Gone are those car exhibits. You can only see Automotive Building as part of the building's concrete. These days, this space is for conferences. I frankly didn't go check it out. Part of me wants to preserve the memories that I have of this building. Perhaps if there is an event or conference that is held here and I'm attending it, I'd check it out. It was great admiring this building from afar. It opened in 1929. It's in good shape considering that it's practically a hundred years old. This building is close to the Princes' Gate. Parking at Enercare Centre is your best bet if you are driving. Otherwise, you can take the TTC or GO train down here. I enjoyed reminiscing. Now about the candlelight performance, well, for $55-$65 ticket price, you get an hour of listening to a mediocre quartet playing popular classics and watching dilettante "ballet dancers" who made the performance feel more like a farce. I am adding an extra star here as a credit to the musicians who continued playing despite the loud rock music coming from the bar next door. Tchaikovsky doesn't really go well when mixed with Megadeth... Will I ever go to Candlelight concerts? Certainly not, it is a rip off and a parody of the real ballet.

A few months ago, Yelp GTA (that's me) hosted a fun-filled event that took guests back in time to the 80s. But the event is not the focus of the review, the focus is the venue. Now as I mentioned you might not know it's here as it's located in a sort of hidden portion of the Schwartz-Reisman Centre. But now as you read this review, know that the juice (this venue) is totally and completely worth the squeeze (the search). The doors from the main center open up to wide hall, large enough to host an event if so required, lined with doors leading to multiple event spaces, washrooms and access to the outside garden/terrace area. The first room on the left is called the brides suite which is more of a small meeting space, following this you have 2 similar sized rooms for about 100 people, and then the piece de la resistance the grand ballroom space which can hold approximately 300. If you have a larger than normal function, a tracked door can be removed between every room (save for the brides suite) and 3 rooms become one massive L-shaped hall. We utilized the entire space for out event and it really made for an impressive venue. Other perks with this venue, coat check, a totally secure building, and free underground parking (when your event is in the middle of the winter). The one drawback for people not practicing the Jewish faith is that the venue is 100% Kosher compliant, and because of that what you bring in is limited and restricted. With that said they have a full (actually 2) kitchen(s) that produce amazing, delicious food that you wouldn't know was kosher or otherwise. For a wedding, business summit or conference, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, or other special occasion, this is THE newest and most elegant hall in York Region. Don't believe me? Over the years I found the food and service to be pretty inconsistent. There have been a couple of well executed dinners, and also chaotic ones. One that comes to mind: a self-serve wedding cake station, where the cake was hacked to pieces and some smeared into the floor/carpet all around it. A couple of events were well staffed and a couple weren't. But people were generally nice and helpful. Overall, I did notice the venue was cleaner and well organized during my most recent visit... so I hope things are turning around.

It just one floor and there were 3 sections: grocery/farm, doctor office/pet store, toddler tent/fishing area, to keep the kids and parents busy. My kid was really enjoying the grocery shopping, and the sushi car, the fishing boat as well. The center was allowing to re-enter for washroom. And kid's eating at the table on site. They don't allow multiple entries in a day. Since the place was not too big to stay long, so 3hrs were good enough. The price will be $15/adult, and kid over age 3 will need to pay. Sometimes there is discounted family tickets online. This is a good place for the younger kids to killing their energies.

A great way to be creative with like minded and unique kids who appreciate true diversity. The camp separates students to play together in beginners, intermediate, and advanced groups and they spend days 2 through 5 playing a game they get to create. Overall there was excellent, accommodating, and trusted camp managers (thank you Avalon) and some awesome counselors. In particular my kiddo's beginner D&D DM was fun and super creative while keeping kiddos language and behavior in check - making the experience 10 stars for the little one.
