I HAVE NEVER SEEN ANYTHING LIKE THIS BEFORE IN MY LIFETIME OF CLEANING CHITTERLINGS!!!!!!!! I asked the sales associates 3 times are these the already clean ones?they both said yes.I took the chitterlings out the freezer ready to pre-clean them again, anybody who knows about chitterlings, knows that you just don't throw them in a pot without going over them again, because even with the pre-clean chitterlings you my have a bad one slip throw.BUT THESE CHITTERLINGS ARE TRULY A DEATH SENTENCE IF YOU DONT NO ANY BETTER.i have also shared the msg and pictures with the BBB,FDA,They should be fine for selling something like this.If you look at the pictures close up!you will see the hogs rectal area in the pictures.I am begging anyone who buy anything from this vendor BE WARE!!!

Let me start with the cheesesteak. I am a firm believer that an amazing cheesesteak has to nail the 3 components: 1) quality meat, 2) gooiness of the cheese, 3) freshness of the roll. Harvey's nailed the meat. The gooiness of the cheese was inconsistent but I do like their take on their own wiz. The roll was eh. Also, the onions were just thrown into the meat instead of being car elided on the flat grill. I think what really took my by surprised was the staff. The cook seemed to be on break eating while I waited for my order. Now it was a little dead in Union Market. I showed up around 5ish on a Friday night. But I was a little caught off guard when watching the staff during the making of my sandwich. Just expected a higher standard. If I lived in the area, I love the availability of getting fresh quality cuts of meat as they have available for your viewing pleasure. Their menu of sandwiches available here still look great. But now that I've tried their cheesesteak, I don't feel the need to stop for it again.

Good selection for a small place: Mussels, shad, scallops, swordfish, cod, crab meat, clams, red snapper, trout, catfish... They have whole fish, chunks, and filets. The DC local shad roe delicacy is also available right now! Their prices vary like most fish markets and they aren't the cheapest (sometimes cheaper than Harris Teeter or Safeway), but their quality is much better. Eg. Tuna steaks? $14.50/lb. ($9/lb at the Marina) Wild caught Alaskan king salmon? $20/lb. If you want the *best* prices and selection, go to the the Washington Marina on the waterfront. However, this place more metro accessible, and definitely not as smelly. My favorite thing is to pick up a fresh catfish filet($8/lb) after work, egg wash it, bread it with panko, and fry it on a skillet (add oyster sauce if you're really advanced). The guys behind the counter will also have advice and suggestions if you need help choosing or preparing a fish. Tip: They usually close a little bit earlier than the rest of the market, especially on weekdays. And on an ethical note, I have been trying to buy sustainable fish more recently via Monterey Seafood Watch (sorry red snapper, I had to give you up, hello bay scallops)! http://www.montereybayaquarium.org/cr/cr_seafoodwatch/sfw_recommendations.aspx

I want to kick myself for letting it take this long. It is always so vibrant here, tons of people coming and going. Ample parking, both on and off street. I love exploring this place. I wandered around for quite some time until I zeroed in on where to eat. We decided to do our own little food tour within the market and sample some bites from a few stalls. We tried: 1. Masala dosa from Sambar & Spice. Also affordable! 3. Fish tacos from the famous seafood spot. These were sadly my least favorite item on our little food tour, the slaw was overpowering but if removed the pan seared fish was flavorless. 4. Wrapped up with some matcha and iced coffee - can't go wrong with those. Enjoyed browsing the little artisan stalls as well. An amazing stop on my trip to DC!

Whenever I pass by this stall, their kimchi is exceptionally bright red with white opaque nappa leaves which tells me everything they have is made fresh and there is a quality control. Eastern Market has a great selection of vendors, but this one in particular feels like a mini market seeing that you can get many specialty things from here. Like an Asian market, they are highly seasonal to Asian ingredients so I would come here for that! But do pay special attention to their small bites. We got their kimbap which had a glossy shine from the sesame oil. Each ingredient was well-seasoned and masterfully rolled right in its seaweed paper. Their pork skewer was also so delicious, with a great char and sweet soy marinate. So glad we turned the corner from the produce side and made it to their ready-made food selection. This is a really well rounded stall.
