The staff were friendly and efficient, and the space feels cheerful and inviting. They also have a chocolatier on site, which is fun to watch. I was intrigued by their Huey Lewis drink, so I decided to give it a try. Much like an Arnold Palmer (half lemonade, half sweet tea) this drink was half lemonade, half coffee. I liked it! It felt like Arnold Palmer's grown up cousin - less sweet, with more bold espresso taste. The barista was very kind and answered all my questions. I would definitely return!

Some of their speciality lattes (like the Remember Me one fall) have been so delicious that I've braved the trek downtown, searching for a parking spot in the middle of my workday, just to get one as an afternoon pick-me-up. I also love the 1885 drink, which is Dr Pepper + espresso. It sounds crazy, but a Waco girl loves it. I will say, ever since the inside was re-painted as a weird, tentacle-esque, purple and orange mural, the ambiance has tanked. It used to feel like a peaceful, vibey spot, especially at night or during the holidays. Now the walls make my skin crawl a bit. Maybe some people love it--I usually hear the opposite But it's still worth going for the drinks!

The coffee shop itself has a very welcoming atmosphere, and the customer service was genuinely excellent from the moment I walked in. Plus, despite being a popular spot, I had no issue finding available seating to sit down and relax. I ordered The 1905 (their house latte infused with toasted marshmallow, vanilla, and caramel), and it was fantastic. It has a wonderfully balanced flavor--subtly sweet without being sugary or overpowering. I also grabbed a super cute fridge magnet as a souvenir. When we arrived at 2:20 PM, the hostess was actively on a personal FaceTime call right at the host stand. She bluntly told us they weren't seating any walk ins, and when we explained we had just called and been told to come in, she completely shifted the blame onto someone else instead of helping. Her dismissive response was, "That's weird because we don't ever answer the phone, maybe a manager that's not even here answered the phone or take away." We ended up having to order takeout instead. The employee working the takeout counter was wonderful, very kind, and even brought our food outside to us. The food itself was good, but between the hostess prioritizing a FaceTime call over guests, passing the buck, and showing zero hospitality, the experience was completely ruined.
