    produce in a grocery store

Just a heads up! This morning at 7:45, I went to Market Basket in Londonderry and had another in a series of horrible experiences with incorrect pricing. One of my items was a single white onion. The price posted was .89 per pound, but at checkout I was charged $1.29 per pound. I told the cashier about the error and requested a correction, so he called for a manager. The manager came over, took the onion and got on the phone. Three minutes later he returned and said according to the produce manager, the price was $1.29 per pound . I politely stated that he could keep the onion. As I wasn't feeling good about this, and since this is a recurring issue, I went over and took a picture of the price showing .89 per pound for white onions and returned to show him before I left. He looked at me, rolled his eyes in exasperation, and stated "I'll let the produce manager know." I then informed him that I was considering posting about it on Yelp, to which he replied "Whatever you think you need to do." This response was rude, condescending, dismissive, and unprofessional, so this is, indeed, what I think I need to do. I'm tired of this "bait and switch" attitude, counting on the fact that many customers won't notice. Food prices have risen beyond many people's financial reach, and every little bit counts. This store used to be amazing. There used to be a great manager at this store named Mark . Since Mark left, the store has been sliding in pricing, service and quality. Watch your receipts on items because its happened before and if you don't catch it they get away with it. Apparently even when you catch it they won't change it! Unbelievable! No apology, No acknowledgement, and no customer service!

Express checkout, Charlie should be the manager, man has been there for almost 20 years never fails to help me with whatever i need and always has something nice to talk about when im checking out. Also just go at 8 am for the burger its the only way. Typically good music playing too.

Check out the photos Purchased the hamburger the same day to be used. Look like they used hamburger that was oxidized and placed fresh over it Took back to the store and was told it still good . Thinking of reporting to the health department what would happen if we got sick cutting costs is one thing but sacrificing pro quality to customers just another

This is a nice friendly store, you don't need a MB card to get the sale price and the groceries are as affordable as any other place around.

You're probably wondering why a guy who lives in the east side of Nashua would come all the way…read morehere for a Hannaford. Only one reason: water. Okay, hear me out for a second. But we recently made the transition from small water bottles (I know, I know) to the 5 gallon refillable jugs. So far as I know, this is one of the only Hannafords close to me that offers a *mostly* straightforward machine that dispenses water in minutes AND....accepts all forms of payment, to include NFC. The reason I say "mostly straightforward" is because if this is your very first time using the water dispensary, payment can be a bit confusing. I must've spent 10 minutes trying to understand how to get the thing to accept payment. As I understand it, you apparently have to scan your phone for NFC payments TWICE. Once to get the machine to ask you to make a selection (pointless), and again to...ya know...actually pay for the water. Could've just kept it basic to the latter, but...whatevs. Btw, the other thing I should mention is that this is totally worth the drive, considering you only pay around two and a half dollars for every 5 gallons as of the time I'm writing this review. Other than that, probably my least favorite thing about this Hannaford is the parking lot and the way its entrances and exits are arranged. Not only is it co-located with a McDonald's (haven't seen this before), but the parking entrance is almost half a block away from the store. In other words, if you had to make a left turn onto Derry road, you'd have to use the exit with the traffic lights for a protected left. Also, having a drive thru right next to your grocery store is pretty cumbersome, but...maybe that's just me. It's your typical Hannaford, only with a really neat and convenient water dispensary located just inside the front entrance to your immediate right. I think every grocery store should have one of these, but I ain't the mayor of Nashua. Hannaford gets 4 conveniently placed water dispensaries out of 5.

One of the managers stopped by and said "I've noticed that you've been waiting here for a long time. I apologize for that. Ask for Christina at the cashier's and we'll take care of you." And they did. Seriously. I thought "ok, they'll knock $2 or $3 off." Boy, was I wrong. It was a substantial rebate. I mean, huge! Just couldn't believe it! Every employee is polite and friendly. Will definitely go back, even though it's a little further than Market Basket!

I never thought I'd be updating this review for a second time. But can someone tell me WHY....in…read morethe H E double hockey sticks does Whole Foods find it necessary to glue their eggs into their egg cartons?! No, seriously....why are they doing this?! Now, before I'm accused of being totally draconian here with my 1 star reduction, let me emphasize that this isn't a one time thing. Nearly every single time I get a carton of eggs from Whole Foods, it is almost guaranteed at least one or two eggs will be inexplicably glued to the carton. This is a problem for SO many reasons. Though, for the sake of brevity, I'm gonna list two of them. 1.) It's damn near impossible to extract the egg out of its pocket without inevitably destroying the shell, thereby obliterating any chances of enjoying a tasty breakfast. 2.) Even IF you somehow manage to liberate said egg from its inherent captivity without destroying it, you'll ostensibly have to deal with the remnants of egg carton pieces that remain glued to the outer shell. My pro life tip for the second reason is to hard boil the egg so that you may avoid any chances of carton bits mixing in with an otherwise raw egg yolk once you crack it. And, so far as I know, no - you can't just wash it off. Because it's glued. Again, WHY ARE THEY DOING THIS?! I'm not sure if it's only this location that has this problem or if ALL Whole Foods stores are shipping their eggs with a few of them totally immobilized inside their respective pockets. It's like they were totally petrified of the idea that MAYBE the eggs would somehow escape the carton and break. Well, NUTS to that, since I usually end up breaking them regardless when trying carefully to extract them out of their cemented position. So, yeah....that, combined with the fact Whole Foods' hot bar has also somehow gotten worse with time instead of better, I find myself regressing my rating back to where I originally had them. It's still a wicked good place to get a few select items here and there. But these two REALLY annoying anomalies compel me to give Whole Foods on Amherst 4 immovable eggs out of 5.

This 1 star is due to 2 misleading (dishonest) labels on their packaged 365 brands.,…read more (1) 365 7 grain and lentil blend, which states 110% RDA for iron. No way! And it is not fortified. (2) 365 brand of organic pumpkin seeds are from CHINA! I have 10 years experience living in that country and I can tell you that the USDA has no authority to do anything there but to ask for their "word" to tell them that it is organic. I'm shocked that WF thinks we are all so stupid. I doubt you could find a field, anywhere in the entire country, big enough to grow a commercial pumpkin crop, that is legitimately organic. Maybe it's just coincidence that the seeds were also very oily.
