People ask me what I am most grateful for in 2020 and I find myself usually saying, Jennifer Mize…read more Yes, Yelpers!! I am a success story of Jennifer helping me when I was at my lowest of my lows and being the blessing to helping me find my first house. GOD IS GOOD! TLDR: Jennifer is the BEST lender I ever met that helped me with the process. When in doubt, reach out to her! Jennifer is an Angel that helped me through the emotional rollercoaster that I experienced last year, which led to me being a successful first-time homeowner! I was referred to Jennifer 2 years ago by my best friend who had bought a house in Las Vegas. After a year of back-and-forth on deciding if I was ready to buy a home, the Pandemic pushed me over the edge to make the decision much quicker than I wanted to. I called Jennifer last year in February 2020 to inform her I was put in a serious situation where it now forces me to move. Jennifer and I worked together the whole year of 2020 when going through the loan process. Jennifer was honest, realistic, and was so supportive (even when I had my mood swings). For me, I went through a lot of emotions and uncertainty, but Jennifer was there every step of the way. In less than 3 months, I was getting my documentation prepared, my loan application completed, credit checked, and employment verification. Then we moved forward in pre-approval and house shopping, and in little as 5 months, we were doing the underwriting and I was in my home before my 30th birthday! Jennifer was honest about what I was able to afford and what my mortgage would be. She also helped me manage my money during the time I was going through the process to ensure that I wasn't putting too much attention on my accounts. The loan application was easy. She was available all hours of the day and night and is STILL willing to speak to me about the miscellaneous mail I receive now and then. Jennifer is such a blessing and has helped me ease my anxiety when purchasing a house. I am so happy to finally be a homeowner and to say that my year has been such an easy process. THANK YOU, JENNIFER, you have changed my life for the best! I recommend Jennifer to anyone! If I can rate 10+ stars, I definitely would!

Short Story: They bounced (returned) a check for $370k after being told in person that it was…read morelegitimate and there was plenty of funds to cover it. Long Story: I am the trustee for a trust. I went into the San Ramon branch on 11/7, the day after the final deposit (wire) into the trust checking account. The money was already in the account and ready to be distributed. I told the staff that there would be 2 checks (debits) coming in to that account for ~$370k each. I told them who they were for and, since there would be no more income for the trust, to close the account when both checks cleared and the balance was zero. I told them that I was heading out of the country in 2 days and wouldn't be available for a week. I asked if they needed anything more and was told they put the notes into the account and all was set. I was then called the next day to approve one of the checks. I told them I already did that and there would be one more check and make sure it is processed. Then, while I was out of the country and no phone access, I received an email from my office saying that Fremont Bank needed to talk to me. I had to pay $30 for a phone connection. It was after hours and they don't have an answering machine or service. So, called again the next morning and was told they bounced (returned) the check already because I wasn't immediately available to confirm the check. These people are incompetent. While I had phone service I called the corporate headquarters and filed a complaint. I was promised someone from HQ and San Ramon would call me back. No one ever did. When I returned, I spent another $30 to wire the money to the beneficiary (they didn't want me to do that but now had no choice). I used the Danville branch this time. It took about 30 minutes to get the wire handled and was assured that they would close the account as soon as the wire went through. Today, I received a call from the San Ramon branch demanding that I make a deposit or they would close the account. I would use a stronger word than incompetent but Yelp would likely not allow my review. Don't use Fremont Bank unless you want to waste your time.

My husband and I are both federal law enforcement officers, and he's a 100% disabled veteran, we did not get paid for over 50 days during the government shutdown and still had to report to work as "essential". We had to use credit cards, borrow money & got charged interest fees and late fees for all of our bills. We requested a forbearance for our mortgage, which we were told not to stress about because of our situation it would be approved. They denied us stating, "client declined program". We did not under any circumstance deny the forbearance. When I contacted them they told me to appeal the decision and we would be fine. Now we're being told no notes were put into the system, appeal has not been reviewed, however we were denied again. No one will help me, the last gentlemen actually told me maybe I should contact a financial advisor! So let me get this straight, we were not paid for over 50 days and you have no understanding that it put us in a bind???? We have been federal employees for years, numerous government shutdowns, none as awful as this one and every mortgage company has been very helpful and understanding... CMG Mortgage, is not considerate nor are they helpful!
