Drove to Hannibel and took the City tour from here. This is my second trip to Hannibel and this time no cave but Bobbie on the tour was funny, informative. Was able to see a side on Hannibel we would not have if we didn't take the tour. It is an open air trolley thru the historic downtown to parks, Lovers Leap and more. Well worth the hour or so on it.

We had a great experience! Really interesting place. Braden and Karlee went out of their way to show us a great time! So accommodating! Highly recommend

    Too many trees!

A basic campground with helpful and friendly staff that is expensive for what is provided. The roads and sites need maintenance since many large puddles with almost no gravel were present after rain and anything touching the ground was covered with mud. I asked for a site with no trees, but got stuck in one with so many that Starlink would not work. Interesting area for history buffs.

" The Film is Different Than The Tour " We visited the Mark Twain Cave and saw a film about the cave before we did the tour. When we took the the cave tour we did not see some of the colors or water falls. But we did see graffiti on the cave walls and we did not see cool colors etc. It was a little disappointing when we went on the tour . All in All it was just OK !

Super nice place to visit. Kids like it! Whole town is likable, nice restaurants and places to chill out.

This cave may not be filled with spectacular stalactites and other formations, but it is rich in history, since it is the cave from the Tom Sawyer novel (and four other Mark Twain books). Walking through its labyrinthian passageways really brings the book into focus, and the guides do a great job of identify various locations mentioned in the book. It's a very easy cave to traverse, with flat floors, no steps, and no climbing. It's also a cool 52 degree respite on a hot summer day, so bring a jacket!

Our tour guide Michael? Maybe, I forgot. But he was amazing. High schooler very energetic, knew a lot about the cave and the history. His puns were also top notch. We went during the winter and it was 1° the whole time but the cave was very warm. Great for all year round.

Fun & easier to traverse than most caves. Paved and only one could be a problem. Stairs & you can skip those.

You can grab tickets online or in person, and they have a really cute gift shop with fun little trinkets worth browsing before or after your tour. Our tour guide Lee was so amazing! He's been there for years and years and you can just tell. Great stories, super personable, the kind of guide that makes the whole experience way more memorable. We even spotted a bat hibernating which was such a cool unexpected moment! The cave itself is fascinating and I loved that it was great for all ages. Our group ranged from little kids to people in their 70s and everyone was into it with no problems. A few spots can get slightly slippery so just watch your step, but there are handrails throughout so nothing felt unsafe. Also found out they host events here too like a black light event and even concerts inside the cave which sounds incredibly cool. Definitely want to come back for one of those. Overall I was really impressed and would highly recommend adding this to your Missouri road trip list.

That's pretty rare with cave tours. This was the only cave tour we did during our week-long family summer vacation in Missouri and we enjoyed it. Our guide, Maddie, was wonderful and very enthusiastic. The tour was an hour and we had a smaller group who were wonderful and I enjoyed learning about the cave, the history of the cave, and walking all around. It was fun and well done. If you are nearby, this is something I think you should do. They have plenty of parking, nice grounds, a penny press souvenir machine, a nice gift shop and are great with kids with some other interactive things to do before or after the tour.

I'm still not sure about ghosts but the folks that run this operation take it very seriously and did a great job of presenting historical information about the MIneral Springs hotel and some of its past visitors that may still be...hmmm...visiting. They also went into great detail about the background on a number of individuals buried in the Alton Cemetery which we also toured in the dark with flashlights. The cost per person was $30 which included soft drinks and snacks at the hotel. Everyone also received a tarot card reading. Oh...did I mention we held a seance in the cemetery....hmmm. The entire event took about four hours and I have to admit a few strange things happened during the tour. So based on the presentation of four hours of well-thought out entertainment in a dark cemetery and old hotel, I give these folks four stars and a recommendation to check them out. Tip #1: Bring a flashlight and wear comfortable walking shoes Tip #2: Leave kids under 10 at home Tip #3: If you ever plan to go on a ghost tour anywhere, download an app called Ghost Radar. It was not made by the owners at Mineral Springs (or me), but they told us about it. It cost a buck and I still can't believe what happened when we used it during the tour of the cemetery. Tip #4: Get ready to say: Hmmm...

I feel lucky to have had Michael Lear as our guide, he was absolutely brilliant and was a stellar storyteller! The prison itself is very interesting, has alot of history behind it and honestly a little chilling. Hearing about its dark history really makes you stop, think about life and human existence. The parts about solitary confinement and how tiny the cells were with several people stuffed in were especially shocking. Michael even took us down to the basement solitary area and turned off the lights for a full minute so we could feel what it was like. That part gave me chills. We also got to see the prison cells from the 1800s all the way up to more recent ones, and even the gas chamber. It was intense but very eye-opening. I highly recommend this tour 1000%! And if you are lucky enough to have Michael as your guide, you're in for something fascinating. I was lucky enough to do the full eight hour overnight investigation, which means about 40 to 50 people with near free rein over three massive prison buildings in the middle of the night. Most of the time was spent breaking into small groups and exploring the grounds looking for paranormal activity, and for me that meant just me and one friend wandering dark cell blocks and corridors that felt completely abandoned. This is absolutely not for the faint of heart because there are long stretches where you truly feel alone, surrounded by silence, shadows, and your own racing thoughts. There were plenty of spine chills, more than a few moments where I questioned my life choices, and by the end of the night I walked out a full believer. It was intense, unforgettable, and easily one of the most fascinating and highly recommended adventures I have ever done.
