Caring for all my little ones at a very very reasonable price, Which i appreciate as a college student. I love her staff and how accommodating they are to my furbabies. My youngest was so scared he was even brought his own tablet with cat shows. I was impressed and will never go anywhere else. Not to mention, when i adopted a kitten the things she prescribed for ear mites, tapeworms , and fleas all worked within a week. I had no other problems and nothing was spread to my other cats. Becky was sure to send me home with enough for the other two as well. The new office is very clean and inviting. There is enough space for cats and dogs of all sizes. I was impressed by the amount of exam rooms, operating rooms, surgery and test labs. I love that she always tries to calm the animals WITH NO DRUGS if possible. I am very holistic person and my cats have always responded to herb and oils. She always trys a calming spray and help of owner (if possible) to get things done. I am only a 23 year old woman with three cats. Ive taken my oldest to two other vets before Becky. She is by far the best!!!

Staff was callous and rude…read more It was incredibly hot outside, so I decided to sit inside with in the air conditioning, rather than sit in my car and do a drive-up. The staff was saying, "I don't understand why ANYONE would come inside when they could just wait in their car," clearly aimed at me, being as I was the only one sat inside. I could not see my cat during the exam, so I was unable to ask questions or see how she was doing. The vet brought her back to me, said she's quite sick, and will be back with a treatment plan. I was hopeful. That treatment plan? Euthanasia. I went to Anamosa Vet Clinic for a second opinion and they did all they could to help my baby, and yet only charged me 1/3rd of the price VCA charged me just to run a few tests and shove me out the door. A door they apparently didn't want me use to begin with. The people who work here are cold, callous, and clearly don't have compassion for animals or people. With so many wonderful vets nearby, I don't understand why ANYONE would come here.

I was able to go home and do some research before I made a decision with which route I wanted to go and she was completely understanding of that and even told me if I had questions with what I found or any other ideas to shoot her an email and she'd be happy to let me know her opinion or an alternative! Each time I've seen her, she always takes time to answer questions, does not make me feel rushed or like I'm asking pointless questions. The vet techs are great too. And, they misspelled my name. The story: My little 10# dog had her 2nd dental by Dr Tabor. When I got her home she started crying, a wet cough and runny nose. I called the office and was told that I could pick up pain medicine in the morning. It was 330PM. I had to carry and walk her for 12 hours while she cried and coughed. I won't write about the calls back and forth. When Dr Tabor finally called she let me know that there was nothing that could've been done to prevent/alleviate my dog's suffering. Not acceptable. I have had 11 of my own and 6 foster dogs in 3 states. No dental has been like this.

Otherwise, it appears appointments are a month + out as of 3/2022. Intake was amazing as staff met everyone coming in that day at the door and assisted with initial paperwork. Our kitty was just past her follow-up shot regimen for rabies and distemper, which the clinic provided at a minimal cost. Overall, our bill was just over 90$ which included nail trimming/capping (10$), shots, spaying, pain medication, overnight stay, as well as a microchipping fee (25$). This is far, far less then the range of prices we were quoted at other local animal veterinarian/hospitals. (Anywhere from 250$ to 1050$, just to *spay* alone.) Although a bit of a drive for those living in Hiawatha/Marion/North CR, the cost and level of care make it worth your time. If you choose to utilize IHA for your pet healthcare needs, please be sure to add a little extra when you pay to help keep this local non-profit going.

So far my two dogs that are 7 years old now have never went anywhere else for veterinarian care. With cost rising for veterinarian care, surgically I may have to go somewhere else, but these people will always be the ones that care for my dogs on a regular basis.
