When we arrived, we saw the sign on the door "Closed for the Season." It was April 30th. Tax season was due to close May 17th. Frustrated, we made an appointment at the Hudson, MA location. After waiting for half an hour past our appointment time, we met with our advisor for about 45 minutes and completed our return. We were asked to pay by check because their credit card reader was down. We asked for a receipt and were told it would be mailed. We never received a receipt. The following week we received a call saying our credit card was not charged and asked us to re-submit payment via credit card. We told them we had written a check and did NOT pay by credit card. Today is June 1, 2021, one month after our initial appointment. Today we received a call from the H&R Block Hudson, MA office stating that our return was not filed because they could not find our check. In fact, not only was the check written, it was cashed. We provided them with the check number. They apologized and said they would submit the return. Needless to say..AN AWFUL EXPERIENCE!!

Mark should not be a CPA. He is very rude and condescending. When I asked him questions, he threw a temper tantrum. He also way overcharges. He saw our refund was going to be tens of thousands and he decided to change his fee after that. When questioned, he literally exploded on the phone call. His work is also sloppy. I was a bit like a deer in the headlights, frozen and unable to deal with my tax problems. I had no idea where to turn for help. In talking with my cousin about it, he mentioned his lifelong friend Matt Previte who he's known for over 50 years and I'm glad he did. After speaking with Matt, I felt a sense of relief that there was someone who knew what to do and how to help me resolve my tax problems. After filing a power of attorney and digging into my problem with the IRS, Matt and his associate Natalya discovered the IRS did not have a 2021 tax return on file, even though I believed my previous accountant had taken care of this for me. They got to work and prepared my 2021 tax return, despite having missing information. Once my 2021 tax return was processed by the IRS, they were able to set up a reasonable payment plan with the IRS to pay my back taxes. They were also able to get about $36,000 in penalties and interest removed! I can't say enough about Matt and Natalya. They were very proactive, professional, and a pleasure to deal with.
