On top of that when we called and asked if they were in network with our insurance we were told yes they accept it. After arriving for our appointment we discovered they were not in network. This has delayed necessary treatment due to their lack of honesty.

Difference can be made with one. You must just make the first step. I was given their name to contact from a friend. After putting off a call for an appointment, due to the shame of the condition of my mouth due to health issue and PDSD from past Dental care at a dentist office in another state, I took a jump of faith and made the call. They got me in the same day to look at my mouth. The receptionist last words to me on the phone was "we look forward to helping you." I thought you say that now but wait until you all see what I am dealing with. Hot mess! Needing a lot of care (a couple broken teeth, decay , and more dental problems) they meet me where I am at and said we are going to fix this. We got you. The care the dentist (Doctor and the dental assistant (this young lady has the biggest heart for her patients! At 23 she makes you feel like you can exhale, she has you!) are giving me is nothing short of life saving! This mother of 5 with one child that has chronic life-threatening illness, another child with Developmental delays / medical issues, and Oma of 2! the best grandsons in the world! I'm totally surprised that no one else has offered a reference for them both. At any rate, let me assure everyone, that both of these dentists are wonderful, both in expertise and bedside manner. I have worked with both, but much more with Dr. Lexie Polk because she does so much pediatric dentistry at nearby hospitals. I am an OR nurse and see exactly how she works with her small young patients, out of eyesight of their parents. Dental pain is excruciating, and many of these little ones can't actually explain how severe it is. If teeth aren't well cared for-brushed and flossed, from an early age-the pain is terrible! Let me assure you that Dr. Polk insists her patients are very well cared for. Taking a child from his or her parents is scary enough, taking them to the OR, away from familiar surroundings, can be terrifying. Dr. Polk INSISTS that they are treated gently and carefully. They are introduced to the "large microphone (gas mask which gently and quickly puts them to sleep)" to either sing into or count as far as they can, as loudly as they can (makes it quicker) with the nurse at bedside singing along, even as poorly as I do! Entertaining to the children, if I say so myself! After the child is asleep, an IV is started so that any medication necessary is given there--NO SHOTS! This IV is taken out as soon as they are back with their parents and have something to drink with no nausea (rare, but not uncommon with anesthesia). Again, I'm surprised that there are no other recommendations for this wonderful dentist. She is a pleasure to work with, and takes EXCELLENT care of her patients! I should also add, that Dr. Polk uses Dr. Chele Veach as her anesthesiologist (the person who not only puts your loved one to sleep-but MORE IMPORTANTLY-makes sure they wake up). She specialises in paediatrics (children) but I have personally requested her for surgical procedures on myself. I trust her that much. And, by the way, she sings with me with the children, although she sings no better than I do. The whole point is distraction while she easily gets them to sleep. Then she monitors all their vital signs.. heart rate, breathing, blood pressure, etc. She is very knowledgeable and thorough in the care of your loved ones. Your loved ones have TOTAL care!!!
