She is a fantastic therapist; she really listens and participates in the session, helping me talk back to distortions I have in my thinking. She is very attentive and has an amazing memory. By having appointments at various times of the day including earlier some days and into the late evenings other days, she is accommodating to what her patients need which I really appreciate. She also has a really simple and easy billing system - it sounds minor but paying therapists has ALWAYS been such a painful experience with everyone else that I've seen (remembering to bring my checkbook, having to coordinate to get a hand-written summary to send for insurance reimbursement, etc.). With Kate, I have auto-pay set up using my credit card, and I get a thorough monthly superbill emailed to me like clockwork to supply to insurance, so easy. She's the only therapist I've ever looked forward to seeing - knowing it will help me process what's going on in my day-to-day life and I'll come out with new solutions to try. She has helped me through some very difficult times. If I ever leave this area I think I would have to travel to keep seeing Kate.

Most importantly, Dr. Lillie is incredibly competent in her line of work, and can remarkably quickly ask the important questions to guide couples to new perspectives on their relationship. The way that Dr. Lillie interacted with my partner and I was not only transformative in the way we think, but carried care, empathy, and psychological safety. I never felt judged, only heard, but still was compelled to change my thinking about some foundational pillars of being in a relationship. They offer mental health therapy on a sliding scale- no one should be denied mental health due to financial hardships. One Life also works with the San Carlos School District to provide Therapists at the schools. Seeing the need for better mental health in the local Hispanic community, One Life opened a satellite center (Una Vita) offering "Weekly Mom's Groups" and other programs to help. Also believing that food insecurity adds to mental distress, One Life also offers a weekly food market for their clients. I am both a volunteer and a member of my family is a client. I started volunteering back in March 2021 during the height of the pandemic when One Life was partnering with 2nd Harvest Food Bank to offer free food to families on a monthly basis. Since that time, the food market has morphed into a weekly endeavor with the help not only from 2nd Harvest Food Bank but Trader Joes, Target, Safeway, Noah's Bagels and others. One Life provides much needed fresh produce, meat, dairy, bread and canned goods to over 100 families on a weekly basis. I volunteer every Monday and I look forward to Mondays. I have developed such positive and caring relationships with other volunteers as well as many of the clients who come on Mondays. I see and hear first-hand what a positive impact One Life and the weekly food market has on the clients.
