Didn't have to wait long for my appointment and everyone was pleasant and professional. The dental hygienist that saw me was Lynne and she was very personable and did a great job cleaning my teeth. Under Dr. Levine's management they have a variety of new tools like a 3D scanner as well as other treatment options that they didn't have before. I notice that the only negatives at all in the reviews have to do with interactions with a receptionist. I've not had any bad encounters. Moreover, that would certainly not be a reason not to see an expert, conservative (yes, in the best ways), congenial, and reasonably priced dentist! I'd give more than 5 stars if I could.

I called about seeing Dr Jernigan and mentioned that I had an emergency situation (a 3-unit bridge had detached completely) and asked if they do any kind of emergency appointments. I got a very snappy, "NO!!!" I could absolutely hear the bad attitude in the voice of the receptionist. She seems to hate her job and really needs to find another one if she reacts like that. That is a customer service job and she is the face of the location, whether audibly or visibly. I see that other reviewers on various sites have encountered that bad attitude, too, so I wasn't overreacting. On another review site, someone mentioned that the receptionist at the front desk is extremely rude and has apparently been there for 30 years. They actually went to the dental office physically and stated that they wouldn't be returning because of her attitude. While I'm sure that Dr Jernigan is a good dentist based on the glaringly positive reviews that I have seen for him on a variety of sites, his awful receptionist is driving people away from him. If a business manager reads this review, please look at various site reviews for this business and see how many people are encountering this nasty receptionist who is driving people away from the office.

The diagnostic component of my first appointment built transparency and trust in my care plan. My dental hygienist, Michah, rocked! Sometimes I get really uncomfortable at the dentist but Michah was caring and patient, helping me feel more at ease throughout my appointment. During my cleaning, she was so thorough and gentle. Dr. Emily Evert was awesome; she listen to and addressed all of my concerns. Both Micah and Dr. Evert made me feel like I had agency in my care and helped me feel confident in my dental plan. Afterwards, the account manager helped me find the best financing option to match my needs. Nowadays, there are many corporate dentists that overcharge, press unnecessary procedures, and do low-quality work. O'Shea is privately owned and their systems, procedures, and staff are top-notch. My teeth and gums feel healthier than ever. Thanks so much, O'Shea, for providing this dental-anxious girlie with an excellent experience!

While Dr. Chartier is my dentist, I've never felt the dread that others express when it's those times of the year. No one should dread going to the dentist and I know that I don't! Continue to read to see why this is the case. When it's time for those annual dental checkups or if something more is warranted, Dr. Chartier and her team of professional, knowledgeable, and helpful staff are there to help. Everyone on her team places the dental patient first and provides outstanding care. In fact, some of my friends, who happen to be a bit demanding and critical, even have compliments and praise for the care they receive. Her practice is conveniently located not too far off the I-85 and Clairmont Road Exit in Atlanta's North Druid Hills/Toco Hills area. Parking is not an issue, as her practice is located in a building that once was a bank, and parking is readily available. Upon entering the building, one can tell that the experience Dr. Chartier has built revolves around the customer. The waiting area is comfortable, graciously appointed, and includes touches designed to complement the services provided. Truthfully, calling it a waiting room is a bit odd, as I've never had to wait as I have at other appointments. The dental staff continues to do their part to ensure a safe visit for patients. The covid pandemic has introduced a need for extra personal safety measures and this is acknowledged. Cleanliness has never been an issue at this practice, yet each team member continues to be covid aware and does their part to help ensure all are comfortable visiting the practice. One of the specialties of Dr. Michele Chartier is that of cosmetic density. She recently has expanded the services she offers to include complementary in office procedures that synergize well with her dentistry work. There are some procedures that she is board certified to provide patients that one would go to an esthetician or a dermatologist to have performed. Now, one can ensure they truly look their best when leaving her practice!

It felt like they are focused on money and not on providing the best patient experience. I scheduled an appointment for a tooth extraction. I was pushed into having my consultation and procedure on the same day. On the phone prior to the appointment, I was informed I would be paying the full price out of pocket, and that the procedure would cost in the range of $600-800. This was very palatable to me. Once I got to my appointment, I met Dr. Cole for my consultation. He did not discuss the details of the tooth extraction, but only discussed two different options for an implant. I had no prior knowledge of how the extraction or the tooth implant process works, and had no idea we would be doing the implant today. He sent me back to the waiting room while they put together an estimate. When the staff pulled me back, they presented me with an estimate for over $6,000. I was understandably very shocked and didn't know what to do. The staff member did not walk me through the line items, and I had to ask questions to understand it while being in shock and trying not to cry. I felt I had no time to make an adequate decision, and that the doctor/office was pressuring me into an extremely expensive surgery. I think this could have been easily prevented by providing me an estimate of the implant prior to the appointment. Or not pushing me to have a same day consultation and surgery. I decided to go ahead with just the tooth extraction because I had an infection that I did not want to wait any longer to treat. I was taken back to the procedure room and put on laughing gas. The doctor came in and noticed I had been crying and asked why. I explained the pricing was shocking to me and the lack of communication around it had made me very flustered. He offered no reassurance or compassion. He literally said nothing. He numbed my gums and left while that set in. At this point I was alone in the room and I continued to get more panicky and stressed, as I now did not trust the doctor and I also did not know what was going on. The doctor had still not explained any details about what the extraction would be like or what the recovery would be like. I was also stressed that I wasn't getting the effect of the laughing gas becuase my nose was stuffy from crying. One of the staff came in and told me to try to calm down and offered to turn up the laughing gas. When the doctor came back in, he asked if I was numb and I said yes and then he started working on my mouth. He did not explain what he was doing and I was terrified I was going to feel more pain because of the laughing gas not getting to me. The doctor could tell I was uncomfortable, I still had tears in my eyes and was wriggling around in the chair, so he told me I shouldn't feel any pain, just movement and to raise my left hand if I felt any sharp pain. But he still didn't explain what he was doing and it all happened very quick. It felt very crass to come in there and rip my tooth out in 30 seconds without trying to calm me down. It was traumatic. Then he left abruptly without any further information. I got very little verbal after-care instructions from the staff in the room, and I felt left alone to figure out what to do despite being given four different prescriptions (including a narcotic) and two different rinse procedures. I'm also left confused if it's normal that there were no stitches done, if I'm suppose to have any kind of follow up appointment, and also what the next stage of the process looks like for me now. One thing is for sure, I won't be getting the implant done by Dr. Cole. They also charge $10 for wifi in the waiting room which gives you an idea of their priorities.
