Dr. Castor and Dr. Exler are amazing. I had my upper teeth whitened by Carina today - under Dr. Castor's care. The teeth now look fabulous. The crown on my tooth on the top row of teeth had chipped. If you would've asked me last year, I would have given this practice five stars. But, unfortunately, they have gone downhill. If you are looking for full-mouth work, either upper arch or lower arch replacement or for that matter even putting caps on implants, I would suggest finding another dentist. I have a complicated problem with several bridges and implants in my upper jaw. It turns out that I need to have my upper jaw completely redone. There is a periodontist that Dr. Exler says that he works closely with. That has not been my experience. There have been miscommunications, and outright falsehoods told to me by this practice relating to communication that did not occur between the practices. -- in my opinion. It is definitely not seamless. I explained my dissatisfaction and discomfort to Dr. Exler's assistant and what did I get? I got a bill for a missed consultation. At that point I had been lied to and I was going to be introduced to another dentist at the practice. I pay for a certain amount of expertise from a dentist that I trust, Dr. Exler broke that trust. For anyone considering major work like full or half mouth teeth replacement, I'm sure it is very difficult for you. This practice knows that it is a very painful and personal process and does not rise to the occasion. In my opinion, seriously think twice. I've been coming to this office since Fall of 2019, and could not be happier. I had a horrible accident and lost several of my bottom front teeth. As a result - the doctors in the office needed to do a lot of work - much of which was not obvious. I needed to have a bridge created and fitted to replace my lower front teeth. I originally met with Dr. Exler for my care, and he was very thorough and an excellent doctor. I subsequently became a patient of Dr. Justine Castor (maiden name Savage). Dr. Castor is absolutely amazing! Her bedside manner is out of this world. She is very thorough and is good at explaining exactly what is going on with my teeth and the required treatment. She is also very accessible. Finally, she is very gentle and is good at sensing my sensitive areas of my lower gums. In addition to Dr. Castor - Arnold assisted with my care. He too is incredible. In addition to having a bridge fitted - I come to this office for teeth cleanings. The hygienist is also very good. My father was an Orthodontist and a professor at USC. So I have spent many hours in a dental chair! My brother is also an Orthodontist and USC Professor and when it came time that my wife needed some specialized dentistry he referred us to Dr. Exler. Dr. Exler has been taking great care of my wife and her dental needs. So when I started having dental problems I jumped right into Dr. Exler's dental chair. He created an extensive plan to help our my dental issues and immediately went to work. He and his staff are so kind and always make me feel at home. Dr. Exler always takes the time to explain what he's going to do and then gives you the play by play as he is working. Before going to Dr. Exler I had chronic issues with food getting stuck in my upper rear molars and was always searching for floss or a water pic to get the compacted food out. After he has performed a crown replacement, and fillings on by two upper back molars I no longer get food caught and going out to eat is a pleasure rather than a pain. He has helped my bite to fit better and has fitted me with a night guard to prevent wear due to grinding my teeth. He also repaired a chip in my right front incisor which would defy anyone to tell me where the chip was. I can't even tell! BEWARE OF THIS DOCTOR!!! If I could give him a ZERO star I would. He is a thief. I was referred to him for my son by his dentist and orthodontist. It was easy to make an appointment. His staff was friendly, however, they lure you in, give you a insulated coffee mug and feel good about collecting the $175 consultation fee, however, there's never a consult. He met with my son and I and all he did was talk to us about all the celebrities and athletes he plays golf with. I followed up at least 4x to find get next steps and a plan for my son, as well as costs. Never once did they return a call or an email. They billed my insurance and took our $175. Since I never received a consultation or an action plan, I requested a refund, again, never heard back. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY!!! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Mark Exlerl for over twenty years. I first saw Dr. Exler because I was unhappy how my teeth looked. He gave me a consultation and a treatment letter on what he recommended. I decided to go with a full mouth restoration. When the restoration was completed, my teeth looked absolutely beautiful. I could not stop smiling. Dr. Exler is definitely a perfectionist. His staff is very professional and welcoming. Dr. Exler and his dental assistants make you feel comfortable during the procedures. I recently had the pleasure of meeting Dr. Exler's associate, Dr. Marcela Hasbun. She did an excellent job in fixing one of my veneers that was chipped. After she fixed it, you could not even tell that it was chipped. She also took impressions for a crown to go over an implant that I had. Wow - high ratings for this dentist and his wonderful, efficient office staff, who agreed to see my daughter - who had a mouth guard made in San Francisco and then never had time to return home and have it fitted. Jessica was lovely on the phone, creatively brainstorming to help my daughter find a time to come in between classes and squeezing her in at the last minute. Dr Exler was friendly and knowledgeable and happy to answer all of my daughter's questions. Everyone in the office was pleasant and welcoming. They greeted everyone who walked in the door by name. Even though the office is nowhere near her home, my daughter plans to return to see Dr. Exler regularly. read more

So after I wrote my review I got a call from Dr Exler and he offer to see me right away without paying consultation, when I got there he started right away with the impression, it took about 20 minute. Dr. Exler also recommended a periodontist who can give me a good treatment with affordable price and who is also board certified. He also set the appointment right after our appointment. I went over there didnt paid consultation and so far he sound good, we set the next appointment for 7/20/2017. Tomorrow Monday I have another appointment with Dr. Exler to hear about both doctors plan for the final treatment,how much it will cost me and hopefully it will work out for me. I had been avoiding going to the dentist for over 8 years. Finally, my wife "convinced" me that it was time to make an appointment. I asked my parents who they use and they recommended Dr. Exler. I was hesitant at first because I was convinced every tooth in my mouth had a cavity on it. Fortunately, that wasn't the case! I went to see Dr. Exler regarding my bridge that was starting to move around. Turns out that under my bridge there was a lot going on. Dr. Exler explained to me step by step how the procedure would go to restore my smile, To insure that future problems would not arise, extra attention was given to reasons why this was happening to my bridge. It all started to make sense, Brilliant stuff...... I couldn't be happier with the results of my teeth,people compliment me all the time about my smile. I highly recommend Dr. Exler for your dental care, especially if you are like me and are grinding and chipping your teeth! He is a specialist and takes great care to listen, explain both the pros and cons of doing his recommended treatment. His office staff are all wonderful and make me feel at home even though I am in a dental office!! I was charged $175 for a consultation that was unsatisfactory. I was told I was going to get reimbursed from my insurance which I never did. I was also told I was going to get a treatment plan at consultation which I never did instead they requested I come back for a diagnostic for another $685 just to get a treatment plan, which totally felt like they are weaving me in for more unnecessary fees. I paid the $175 and said I was going to think about the diagnostics fee. At this point I was very unhappy, which they knew very well. A couple hours later Kathy the receptionist, called me and gave me a treatment plan without the diagnostic, when she clearly told me they couldn't give me a treatment plan without that. They are liars! Overall my experience was horrible and be aware of this place. They are only after the money. Save your money and go somewhere else. read more
