I first found Mark Bangert Electric on NextDoor where there were tons of glowing reviews. And you know what, the people were not wrong. My husband and I have now worked with Mark and his guys twice, and both times have been great! First, we had Mark upgrade and move the "vintage" (read: dangerous) electrical panel in our Lake Balboa house. He was friendly, worked quickly, and made a point to answer every single question we had. He even came back a month later and handled the inspection by the city - we didn't have to chase him down or anything. He's busy, but he WILL text/call you back. The second time we hired Mark, we had him do a few random things - move a couple outlets, install a few light fixtures, rewire another outdoor fixture, and check the quality of the existing wiring in a room we were renovating. Even with this sort of random, smaller job, he was able to make time for us and took care of everything quickly. As you might imagine, he's a busy guy so it can be tough to get a QUICK response, but if you can wait a week or two, the experience is much better than with other subcontractors I've worked with before. I have been procrastinating about finding an electrician to install a security camera/lights I purchased a while back because it can be such a crap shoot trying to find someone reasonably priced, who is great at what they do and easy to work with. Well, last night, I discovered my garage had lost all power so I could no longer postpone the inevitable. Thankfully, the friends on Next Door came through once again. Mark Bangert came highly recommended and was considered a neighborhood favorite foe a number of years in a row. So, I called first thing Saturday morning. Mark was on this way to another job but would try and come out today. Fortunately, things were working in my favor. Mark was able to come and brought along his colleague, Mike. Both were super friendly and very professional. Mark asked to see the breaker box. I explained that I already did that, and it didn't work. Well, he tried it, and sure enough, it worked. Since he was already here and there was a matter of the service charge, I asked him about installing the security lights and camera. Of course, my thinking was from the perspective of aesthetics, but he helped me see why the location he suggested made more sense from a safety standpoint. Mark also talked to be about blindspots on my property and how he can help correct them at a competitive price. All-in-all, it was a great experience. I highly recommend Mark to anyone looking for someone who knows their stuff; is priced fairly and won't take advantage of you. Oh! Can I add patient? Turns out that the camera was older than I realized, and the updates took forever, but they were very patient and never complained, although they did have jokes. First off, Mark Bangert is very responsive to texts and/or phone messages. We first had him give us a quote on a Ring security system prior to the Covid lockdown. After waiting (our choice) a couple of months due to social distancing, Mark returned wearing a mask and professionally installed two cameras and helped us link them to our cell phones. Further, he changed out every recessed light fixture in our house to the much more efficient and attractive LED.
