She is patient, caring, gentle when examining, and takes time to explain your condition to you and make recommendations. She has a very calming and nurturing presence and is very experienced. Wow. I think I blocked my experience out of my mind for my visit. I shuddered when I saw the review for Dr. Green........it's all coming back! I am the worst at keeping up with my dr apts. I had really put off going to the gyno because I didn't want someone to tell me something bad.......I know, I know.....bad....... So my apt with Dr Green was horrible as well. No one was welcoming, she wanted to focus on my mental health........but not in a caring way.......she was quick to med me up and throw all sorts of birthcontrol samples my way........ummmmmmmmm..........Try three different brands?? Nothing seemed cutting edge........she didn't care.......she wanted to hear herself talk........I am lucky I was able to get it together and not have a gyno fear and see someone else........ All and all, I think I checked the box on the pre-evaluation that says do you sometimes feel depressed........Jeesh lady, I didn't check the one that said I feel like killing myself! Dr. Green is fantastic and knowledgable. After being misdiagnosed by 5 (yes, 5) different doctors, she was the first doctor to validate my pain and give me treatment. Her approach is to try one treatment at a time, and she's not shy about changing the treatment if you don't find results. Dr. Green also has relationships with other specialists that give the same level of care that she does. Most importantly, she is not afraid to recommend you get a second opinion if she cannot find what is wrong. Office: her staff is nice and I've never had a problem getting an appointment within a week of calling. This is pretty good for a specialist. I recommend her to anyone, but from what I understand, most patients see her if another health care provider recommends you. I guess it's like being in a secret club. read more

Although not as traumatizing as yours, I must say that my dealings with Dr. Green have been less than satisfying. I think she's headed for retirement or something and just doesn't care that much anymore. I don't remember any pain as you mention, but she wasn't caring either. read more

Like B.S., I didn't have a good experience, either. Dr Green pathologized me before she even examined me, and then wanted to prescribe Neurontin for frequent U.T.I.'s.....huh??!! I went online and found out it's a seizure medication! She didn't tell me that, or how it would help me, or what the side effects would be (except to say I "might be a little drowsy") , so I opted out. Now I see Dr. Rosenblatt, my favorite doctor ever, who is compassionate, nice, funny, and helped me to feel better. read more

I have been seeing Dr. Green for almot 20 years and by far she is the most CARING, competent, personable, doctor that I have. During my appt. I never feel rushed, she chats socially then addresses any problems or concerns that I have. She's incredibly bright and offers outside opinions when in doubt. I am actually a big fan of Dr. Green, and my sense is that she specializes in the rare, unusual, painful and undocumented pelvic issues (read: unspecified vulvitis). However, I'd be perfectly happy to see her for regular (birth control, UTI, yeast, etc) issues as well. I finally saw Dr. Green after having been misdiagnosed and mis-medicated by other doctors. She was clearly very personable, took my own interest in my health seriously, while also being professional. When I explained that I wanted to supplement any treatment plan with homeopathy and acupuncture, she was fully supportive and explained how we could reasonably mix Western Medicine and other treatments. She did a thorough exam, fully explained her diagnosis, discussed treatment options, gave me an at-home plan and forwarded me to physical therapists with her personal suggestions. I was impressed. I didn't give five stars simply because she didn't wave a magic wand over my vulva and fix it. That might be grossly unfair, but it's the only way anyone is going to get the full five stars from me at this point. read more

I've been seeing Dr Marjorie Green for about 10 years and have found her to be the best! I tend to be VERY critical of doctors but she is smart, competent, thoughtful and careful. After having seen Dr. Green for quite some time, I am officially finished with her. I am in complete shock after today's appointment. I have been on Yaz for five years, and it has worked perfectly for me. Over the past six months, however, Dr. Green, upon urging her twice, did not write "no substitution" on my prescriptions, thereby leaving me with a generic brand of birth control. I understand that it is state law to give patients generics first, upon their availability, but that should not be enforced when the patient refuses a generic, like in my case. I understand the concept of generic drugs, but in the case of birth control, where hormonal levels are in question, especially when there is absolutely NOTHING wrong with Yaz, I refuse to not only potentially deal with the side effects of a generic but also with the stress of expecting those side effects. Dr. Green did not understand me at all. Her words to me literally were,"Well, that's the system, and it works for me. Take the generic, and if you hate it after two months, I will prescribe you Yaz again. But I need to keep up my rating and I don't want to be fined if I prescribe you Yaz and not the generic first." I was shocked!! I felt as my doctor, she was not on my side at all! She only cared about her rating and not being fined!!!! She also told me that if I don't comply, I can go see another gynecologist. Absolutely horrible. Since when am I the last to be asked what goes into my body????? When I asked her if she is recommending the generic because she thinks it might work better, her answer was, "no, I just don't want to get fined. That's the system. It works for me." What a disappointment. I do not recommend this doctor, even though, before today, I had recommended her to two other friends. This is certainly not what a gynecologist should be like. She has clearly forgotten the meaning of "In each house I go, I go for the good of my patients." She needs to be reminded of that. Never again. I'm very surprised to read negative feedback about Dr. Green. I've been to her 3x over the past 3 years and each time, I've been impressed with the amount of time and attention she devotes to my appointment. So many doctors are in a frenzied state and hardly let you finish a sentence but not Dr. Green. I find her to be very cordial, caring and professional. And she was able to accurately diagnose my problem which had been fluffed off by my previous gynocologist. read more

Dr. Green is a very knowledgeable doctor who is thoughtful in asking about your current situations and future plans in order to help you plan accordingly. While I saw her in her OB/GYN capacity for my yearly exams, general reproductive health and cyst matters that are not particularly her specialty, she was exceptional in trying to boost my knowledge on all areas. Her approach to discuss matters in her office after the examination instead of during the examination really set me at ease to talk more freely. She welcomes all questions with good answers and never makes you feel like your questions are stupid by any means. I have had a couple of gynecologists in the past and by far she is the best. In fact, when I had a serious event occur years back with another doctor that affected my health, she recommended another wonderful specialist that would help me in the future when I was ready to conceive. For me, it was great to hear this because it meant she was thoughtful of my health and helping me plan for the future. read more

I also did not have any traumatizing events with Dr. Green, but she's cold and curt. A more positive way to put it is "no-nonsense". Luckily I was just going for routine gyn. care and I didn't need her to do more than a standard pap smear and checkup. read more

Dr Green has been extremely professional and helpful for me. I have visited her six times since developing a vaginal pain problem a few years ago. She has always been kind, gentle, thoughtful and expert in her handling of me and my pain problem. She has never pushed me to take any drugs of any kind and has encouraged my desire to explore alternative healing methods. It was difficult for me to find a GYN who specialized in pain problems; I was thrilled when Dr. Green was recommended to me. Dr. Green is thorough and really understands older women. She diagnosed a problem that had eluded definition for years by my personal care physician and another gynecologist. I cannot recommend her highly enough for those who have been frustrated by other medical professionals who do not take the time to really figure out a condition that is not "typical". Also, her focus on menopause and post-menopause is terrific. Other gynecologists have waiting rooms full of pregnant women or those wanting to be so when they get me, they just brush me off. I had seen another gynecologist who had no idea what was wrong with me and put me through an operation to examine my ovaries. No change in my problem. One visit with Dr. Green and she identified my auto-immune condition, did a biopsy (which confirmed her diagnosis), and prescribed a treatment which has made my life much much better. Dr. Marjorie Green saved my life. I am not speaking figuratively. In 1996 I gave birth to an extremely sick baby. The pregnancy was difficult due to the baby's birth defect. The birth was even worse. Bleeding to death, I was rushed into the OR at the Brigham where the emergency surgeon on call was prepared to perform a total hysterectomy at breakneck speed. Thank God Dr. Green was there. She stopped the surgeon from removing any organs and assisted in stopping the bleeding. She believed I would live when everyone else in the room was expecting me to die at any moment and she acted on this belief without losing a second to hesitation. Four years later, I gave birth to a second child, a healthy boy who would not be here today if not for Dr. Green. The bottom line is, you ultimately do not go to the Dr. for friendship or courtesy or hot cocoa or any of that. You go for your health and most people go so they can live longer. I'll take Dr. Green (who actually is very congenial) over any other professional, any time, any where. read more

I'm really sorry that B.S. had a bad experience, but I have to tell my story too. I had pain during sex for years. I had told other gynecologists about my problem. One gyny didn't help at all, another one told me to use lubricant and finally a third doctor referred me to Dr. Green. She was the first person who understood what was wrong with me and actually knew how to help me. She also referred me to physical therapy which makes sense if you think about the fact that it's not unusual to go to P.T. when other parts of you body are in pain. The P.T. I went to was wonderful and though it was a little wierd at first it what I needed to do to get better. I have since sent a couple of my friends to her when I found out they were having problems too and they were also really grateful to find someone who specializes in women's sexual dysfunction. With Dr. Green's help and the providers she sent me to I was finally able to start enjoying sex with my husband! read more
