2025 has been the summer where I've been on a ceviche bender, trying it each time I see it on a new menu. Let me tell you, this place has The BEST ceviche I've had this year. I really wish I didn't live so far away! Service: 4/5. Everyone was pleasant, attentive, and our food and drinks came quickly. Water came slowly, but no biggie. We came at an odd hour on a Friday in the afternoon when it was super quiet and service changed over because of lunch breaks, but we were looked after well regardless. Drinks: 5/5. We chose the Margarita flight and found the drinks to be strong and just right in size. Food: 4.5/5. The starter is the only reason for the docking of .5 because the calamari in the fritanga de mariscos were slightly over-fried (only the batter, the center was still perfect) however, a very generous sized portion. We then chose the ceviche nayarit (there were 5 others to choose from!) to share with intention to order another entree after but wow were we wrong, we had no room to order anymore after those two plates thinking they'd be small. We substituted the ceviche's hot sauce for freshly chopped jalapeños and did not regret it. The mango mixed with the fresh cucumber and tomatoes, crunchy jalapeños and onion, smooth avocado slices, and shrimp bathed in a citrus/wine sauce made for the perfect combination and delicious meal. MARISCOS NAYARIT Seafood Restaurant - Mexican Style I saw this restaurant while I was scrolling through a couple of Yelp Elite reviews. Everything looked so delicious. The bright, brilliant colors captured my senses right away. Then I looked at some videos online of the restaurant, and everything again looked so wonderful. I guess where I made my mistake at is the choice of what I picked, and I did not have my glasses on that day, so it was hard to kind of like read the menu. Although they did feature a lot of pictures--which again, because I didn't have my glasses on--it was hard for me to see. I got excited with the choice of shrimps, but I did not know that the head was left on it, which was a big turn-off for me. So I picked sort of like a stir-fry meat, which had steak and shrimp, but I thought it was a whole steak that I was ordering with shrimps on top and some vegetables on top. But to my surprise, that is not what I got. It was sort of like thin steak with the shrimp. I didn't want the pepper, and I got it anyway--it ended up coming out on my order, which wasn't no big deal. I was able to roll with it. I was just not pleased with this order. But I loved the side items. I loved my rice, I loved my pico de gallo, and I loved the guacamole. All of that was delicious, and I'm sure that the other food would have been delicious if I would have got what I thought I was ordering. Now, the person who was with me got a big ol' juicy steak. It tasted rather delicious, and all the sides were good. I guess that's what I really wanted. But I was able to salvage everything by taking my order home and giving it away to someone else who enjoyed it. I liked the way they presented their menu and pictures, and everything was so colorful. Of the food that I did eat, I loved the way that it tasted. The restaurant was characteristic to the style of food that they were cooking, although it was a little dark in the restaurant. It had a seafood theme. The bathrooms were very clean. The staff was very accommodating. It did seem like they had a little trouble understanding English, and we had trouble understanding their language too, a little. But it was only one or two waitresses on staff--and I think the owner or the cook or somebody like that was there too. I will say that I might go back and try this restaurant one more time to give it a fair shake, 'cause at the point that I'm at now, I would give it a 3 out of 5. But my friend loved it--he gave it a 5 out of 5, whatever scale we're grading on. There were other families there who seemed like they were regulars that seemed rather happy with their food and their order. To tell you the truth, I cannot give a fair rating on my food because I was so disappointed in my choice. But going by everybody else's reactions to their food, I'll give it a 4.5 out of 5. read more

Good food good service honestly a good place to take friends at and enjoy sum good seafood , it is a bit pricey but worth every penny !

It was my first time at this establishment and probably my last to be honest, the fact that we had to ask the servers 3 times for silverware and napkins is mind boggling, secondly we ordered a plate that was $150 dollars that had muscles, a whole fish and a lobster, however when it was brought to the table our server Nancy told us the kitchen ran out of lobster and served us 2 carb legs and 6 blue crabs for the price of a lobster which I found incredibly expensive since it wasn't lobster any more, and they didn't even ask us if the change was okay with us, we honestly accepted it because it already took them a long time to bring out this one and in the time that we send this plate back and for them to give us another one it would so much time we would have been in that restaurant waiting for the food. Lastly the fact that the 15% tip is automatically added to tables that have a check of $100 or more which in my opinion explains the slow and inattentive service. read more

Best Mexican restaurant in the area good seafood the surface as well. Need to give it a try.

We happened upon this restaurant to celebrate a family members birthday and they were craving Mexican. The location is kind of iffy as it is not clearly visible from the road. It sits behind Olive Garden and is in a well known spot that restaurants usually fail. I have seen numerous restaurants come and go at this location but I am hoping this one stays. Although Lynnhaven Mall is right next to it, it is still kind of hidden. This Mexican restaurant stands out from the rest of the Mexican places in this area as they offer more Mexican seafood-centric options. Octopus, whole fish, and whole shrimp is on the menu along with different ceviche options. It is truly a seafood lovers place to go to because it offers it with a Mexican twist. They also offer the traditional options like tacos, burritos, and fajitas. We ordered the steak burritos and carne asada along with a jumbo mangonada margarita. The steak burritos were pretty damn good and the carne asada entree was delicious as well! The carne asada was perfectly marinated and seasoned and it was a hit for me. The mangonada margarita was huge and it had plenty of tajin and flavor in it! However, there were some things I wish didn't happen on this day. We were in a long big table in the middle and while we were dining, a live band playing Spanish tunes started playing. Normally I wouldn't have a problem with it, but they set up RIGHT next to us and blasted the speakers on high in a small restaurant. From then on, we were unable to have any conversations with the group and I couldn't hear myself think. The toddlers that were with us got irritated as well. I love mariachi music but it was just too small of a place and the speakers were all the way turned up for some reason. It quickly made our visit an unpleasant one as we had to hurry and finish our food and leave shortly afterwards. Finally, the waiter was super nice but I'm not sure he is used to dealing with large groups and he forgot our requests multiple times. I honestly want to give this place a second chance and try the exotic seafood options cause the food was pretty damn good. Hopefully we won't catch them on live music day so we can enjoy our meals this time read more

The quality of the food is refreshing and flavorful. The drinks are great and they have quite the variety. I absolutely love coming here. The restaurant and bathroom is very well kept and the service is sensational. It's definitely a go to place for Friday-Saturday when they have a Dj set up for good music. A group of friends went out last night for food and drinks, but the evening took a disappointing turn. It all began with receiving complimentary chips and dip, only for a chip to fall into the sauce when the waiter placed it on the table. To make matters worse, the waiter used his bare hand to remove the chip. Despite this unsettling start, they tried to overlook it and enjoy their night. However, things went from bad to worse when a roach was spotted crawling up the wall and onto the table within just 5 minutes of ordering. Disgusted, we informed the waiter that they no longer wanted our order (which we haven't even received yet) and decided to leave. Shockingly, the waiter accused us of dining and dashing, called the police, and even followed us to the car. The situation escalated with the waiter demanding payment for drinks we never got. He even suggested we take the alcoholic drinks to go, which is illegal, and failed to check anyone's ID which is illegal. This experience left a sour taste in everyone mouths, and we strongly advise against visiting this establishment due to its poor cleanliness and unprofessional staff who lack basic customer service skills. Roaches are scared of light, so to see them crawling in the open proves the what standard of "clean this place has" . I do believe we was targeted for being young women and being women of color. I'm giving 4 stars mostly because of the mojarra Al estilo, it was very good. It's a lightly battered whole fish in an amazingly delicious broth. The tacos San Blas should be tacos San Blah, not very good, the corn tortilla tasted weird most likely because they were packaged tortillas and not a good one. The shrimp ceviche seemed like it was raw as in not marinated long enough in the lemon juice, it looked gray like raw shrimp and not white. Service is excellent and very accommodating for large groups. read more
