DIRTY SHRIMP CAMARONES SUCIOS

bought a tostada mixta and the shrimp had not been cleaned. ordene una tostada mixta y los camarones estaban sucios.

The food is good. What I ordered was 30 dollars. That's not including the soda. I wouldn't order this again but I would come back for the fish though.

Fish quesadilla (halibut)

The best Mexican food I've had in my life! And the customer service is amazing. This restaurant is family owned and some of the sweetest people I've ever met. I originally ordered fish tacos but my cousin ordered a quesadilla with fish and hers was so good! I ordered a quesadilla to go to have for later. I couldn't pass it up. I wish they were close to me I would order from them all the time. Their food was affordable, fresh, and comforting.

I love their tacos. All of their food is good if I'm being honest, the wet burrito, tostada de camaron, even the chicken salad. I love the variety. Definitely recommend calling in your order because it's always busy.

Outdoor seating only, this is a permanent food truck set up in a mini "park". There's a covered area as well as umbrella-covered tables out in their gated private dining area. We ordered a few tacos and an aguachiles plate. The food was sublime, especially the aguachiles. The shrimp were firm, snappy, and brightly flavored with chili and lime. The portion was massive, too! Incredible quality food with bargain prices. The only downside is that they have shorter opening hours vs. El Burrito Loco Y Mariscos across the street.

Fish ceviche tostada

Delicious chopped fish ceviche with fresh lime, fresh tomato, ripe avocado slices, and crisp tostada, not too spicy but there's a choice of hot sauces for those who want extra heat. The carne asada tacos come with traditional meat, onions and cilantro, plus chunks of marinated carrots. Casual outdoor dining with food truck ambience, but plenty of comfortable shaded tables. The cool fresh ceviche was especially welcome on a 102 degree evening, friendly service, and at $16 for the ceviche, two tacos, and two sodas, a great affordable option, especially on Monday evenings when other places in Dinuba are closed.

Camarones a la Veracruzana (tortillas on the side)

Los compadres is such a nice and chill place to just enjoy your mariscos. I ordered a tostada mixta and camarones a la veracruzana. The tostada was more like 5 tostadas soooo much food! It was really tasty. On the tables you'll see a selection of chiles and ketchup. My sister ordered camarones a la diabla she said they were super spicy. My brother in law ordered the menudo and he said it was great, a lot of food again. The staff is really nice and friendly! Todo muy delicioso!

Went here again with our of town family. So very good! There are salads, for those who aren't eating carbs, even though they aren't shown on the menu.

Vuelve a la vida
Pablo G.

I ordered the "vuelve a la vida" and I was a little bit disappointed. For $21 I was expecting the real deal but my food had imitation crab, a few pieces of octopus and as listed 3 oysters. I am rating this place with 3 stars for the price which is high and the food is average.

Aguachiles ceviche ostiones

The food was delicious! 5 star . The place is beautiful outdoors with lots of shade and seating available. Restrooms . Really recommend it ! People are super nice service was excellent

Some of the best reviews were many years ago. I ordered the chile verde burrito, wet, and my girlfriend ordered the fish taco Friday special. Chile verde has different sized pork chunks in a delicious green sauce but the meat was inconsistent in size with most pieces being rock hard, or fat/gristle. No pieces were tender. Chile verde should be tender. I can make better Chile verde in an Instant Pot with pork shoulder and a jar of Herdez green salsa. I trim my meat well though. No surprises. The fish tacos were attractive. They resembled fish sticks though. They had a bread crumb coating, were cooked earlier, and reheated before putting in the taco shell. Not beer batter fried aka Baja style. The taco shells were soft yellow corn tortillas with the texture of flour tortillas. These tortillas were really good! Avocado and fresh cilantro was a nice touch. No special fish taco sauce was used, but might improve the fish sticks. Rice was a solid hit for both of us. We make it like this at home with shrimp/tomato bouillon. The beans were ok. I ended up "returning" the inedible chile verde and they dutifully replaced it with a different burrito. The service was 5/5. The place itself is clean and neat and spacious. No complaints there.

Definitely worth checking out. ------- My family and I decided to come here even though the reviews were on the lower side. After reading some of the reviews, it seems like the reviews are skewed by the people who were very upset with their experience. When we arrived, it looked like they were having a karaoke or music night, which made the place feel lively and full of energy. It was a bit noisy, but it added to the fun atmosphere. We sat near the entrance so we could still talk comfortably without the music being too loud. The staff was really kind and helpful, and most of them primarily spoke Spanish, which made the experience feel even more authentic. The restaurant itself isn't fancy or high class, but it has a warm, casual vibe that makes you feel welcome. At first, the prices seemed a bit steep, but once the food arrived, it was easy to see why. The portions were huge, and everything tasted great. I'm not sure what they do to their rice and beans, but they were some of the best I've ever had. The carne asada had a nice char and was full of flavor. Overall, this place really surprised me. It's not upscale dining, but it's the kind of spot that leaves you full, happy, and planning your next visit. I'd definitely come back to try another dish.

Sadly, with no communication, an hour and a half later we finally get three meals. Took about 30 minutes for everyone else to get the other meals served two at a time. Some were done with their meals before everyone had been served. My food was good but absolutely not worth the wait. One burger meal was returned due to not being prepared to order. Others mentioned that their meals were cold. Very disappointing. In confirmation with other comments decor is nice but service is lacking. Went to the counter to pay the bill. I mentioned my disappointment about the wait and said it would be difficult to return if this is normal. The owner said is a rough voice. Well, I've had to wait for two hours at other places them promptly asked where I was from and I told her. She then said well, I won't see you again anyway. I replied I visit my mom often and could possibly return but may have to rethink that. Cali-Mex is right down the street. Not nearly as nice but the food is good and served quickly. As we were leaving she then walked over to tell us about everyone who "called out" and how they were doing their best. A bit too late. This all could've been avoided by telling us it's an hour and a half wait. We could've then decided to stay or not. Obvious money grab with no consideration of future business.

What we found was the family restaurant of your dreams. This is a husband-and-wife-run spot (M & J), former IHOP veterans who quit to open something far better. They have eight kids who help run the restaurant, and from the second you walk in, you feel that this place runs on heart. The walls say things like "You are family here" and "We create memories & meals." The Wi-Fi password is literally "ThankYou." There are sticker machines, Pokémon cards, and Milky Way bars by the register. It's wholesome in the way that makes your nervous system relax. The hospitality is. Michele will call you sweetie and somehow never let your cup dip below half full. It's the kind of service that makes you feel genuinely cared for, not rushed or transactional. The menu is a treasure chest. We loved it so much we stopped on the way up and made explicit effort to come back on the way down. We ordered the country fried steak, steak omelet, chorizo omelet, and a breakfast sandwich... every single thing was incredible. Do not miss: * Biscuits and gravy (mandatory) * Chocolate chip pancakes * Country potatoes with bell peppers and onions (to die for) * House-made salsa -- genuinely some of the best I've ever had This place is the reason you take road trips the long way.
