It arrived bland, greasy, and the soup base tasted like shrimp seafood stock. Cross contamination perhaps? Dunno. I don't eat shrimp due to religious reasons, that's why I ordered beef albóndiga soup. My soup was laced spiked with shrimp seafood stock, not an honest or correct business practice. First and last we will never go back to this place again this was for 5 small street tacos that had rotten meat in all of them. One plate of fish tacos and one plate of mole. The waitress still charges us full price for the rotten tacos that the kids didn't eat. This place needs to be to be reported to food and safety department for inspection, this was horrible. We ate here yesterday after a short visit to Corcoran. This was by far the best Mexican food we have found in many years. The rice was light, fluffy and full of flavor. The beans were the perfect consistency and so creamy and delicious. They served 2 types of salsa. One was mild and the other had chili, both were delicious. I had the cheese enchilada and chili rellano and my husband has a cheese enchilada and chili verde burrito. Everything we had was fresh and bursting with flavor. We will definitely make the short trip to Corcoran to eat here more often. We loved this place. read more

I'm writing this review based on my second time at this restaurant. I came here few days ago off of the recommendation of a few coworkers. I ordered a seafood chimichanga. It looked great! However, when it came time to pay the bills I was overcharged double what the menu price was listed. I also ordered an extra condoment of quacamole. They were going to charge me $2. But didn't know I was overcharge till I came back on my second visit. The waitress made it seem as if she was doing me a favor by giving me that rate. I came here again and confronted the owner about the gross over charge. I ordered a chimichanga this time with chicken. She insured mean that I would be charged correctly. Chimichanga came out fresh nice sleep presented. Only thing missing was service. My drink was empty for a long time. Of the time the waitress came back all I wanted was the bill. I was in disappointed to see that the lunch group of ladies that's that behind me we're able to get there bill before me even though they sat after I was seated. What is bad to me is that in negotiating forgetting the extra guacamole yesterday I told the waitress if she didn't charge me I would tip her well meaning $5. To see the quality of service on my second trip leads me to believe that even those the food is not as good as it could be when the service is poor. read more

Ok. So the sign outside reads: El pescador #15 but the actual name is Mariscos EL Capitan. My first time here. If you're not paying attention you will confuse it as being park of the budget inn motel. The place looks a bit run down. Once you enter you will see a statue of a man with a sombrero turn right and then you will the see the hostess area. Like I mentioned, it's my first time here. The food was ok. But I will give it another chance. Hopefully next time its better. Just a bit of advice the interior is a bit run down as well. If you are a bourgeois person don't bother trying it but for everyone else if you're in town and in need of an American breakfast that services Mexican dishes then give it world. read more

This is probably one if the best Mexican restaurant I have ever been too. The food is plenty. When food gets to your table it is nice n fresh and also hot. Nice and cozy just all around a nice place to go and have dinner. Wasn't down for the $3.99 'surprise' on my bill when asked for a 'some pico de gallo, if possible'. Got a lengthy explanation on how it was the manager's choice, who consequently isn't there on the weekends to speak with. No barter for a soft drink to go when I inquired the hefty sum for 'tomatoes and onions'. Granted, it was a huge bowl, and quite well-prepared, but seriously, I wouldn't even expect to pay that for great guacamole...especially in a farm town in the middle of nowhere. P.S.- It was written up as '1/2 order of PICO DE GALLO' as if it was hand keyed in. I would've attached the picture except they kept the table receipt. Overall, wouldn't recommend, especially with unreachable management and such 'shady' practices for ramping up a bill. There are plenty of other choices in town. read more

The service is hit or miss, but the food is outstanding. I haven't gone in months because of their service. I ordered 6 meals for carry out and they forgot to put rice in 3 of the combos. I didn't know until I got home and I didn't feel like driving back. They have forgotten the sides of beans on other to-go orders. Eating at the restaurant isn't much better. We walked in and the waitresses were eating and they just rolled their eyes and mumbled something to each other. We couldn't get chips, salsa, or refills of soda without asking the waitress. Another time I waited 30min for 2 tacos (no rice/beans) that were forgotten on a to-go order. The food, and salsa is amazing, it's just the service that needs to be improved. I've been here 5+ times, I tried a few things then found their Chile Colorado. The sauce in this dish is by far on my top 5 list of anything Mex. The husband and I came here on a drive through Corcoran one morning. When I was a child, this used to be a diner and I wanted to see the place again. Now it's a Mexican restaurant, but the sign out front is a different name. Inside it's largely unchanged from that 1980s diner. The booths along the wall and the chairs at the bar and the tiles on the floor are old, but the chairs & table in the middle are new additions. The restaurant was completely empty when we went inside. I ordered a combination plate with sope and enchilada, the hubby had Divorced eggs. It took a long time for me to come, so I feel pretty confident it was cooked fresh. They made a mistake on my order and brought me a chili rillano accidentally , but then brought my missing item and of course did not charge me for the mistake. I was happy they did this because I really enjoyed the chili more than I did my enchilada. The rice and beans were good. Husband enjoyed his plate as well. The chili Colorado, despite being positively reviewed in other yelp reviews, was disappointing and Basic. It did not taste very good. I was content with my meal and content with the price I pay for it, but unless I'm going to walk down memory lane I probably won't be back to this restaurant again. read more

I have been coming to this restaurant for nearly 2 years. The food is okay, it would be better if they could serve the beans hot. They usually arrive lukewarm at best. So, unless you've ordered the fajitas, don't count on it. The waitress' are attentive, though not professional. They don't wear name tags so it's hard to get your waitress's attention at times. The owner is moody and stays too long talking with you when your food has arrived. They are moving to a new location in downtown Corcoran, I hope the food/service improves. read more
