Wow what a find!!.. you can taste the freshness of the seafood. We had our doubts but I'm glad we came. The grilled fish with rice is amazing. The ceviche don Charley appetizer was bomb!!!... and man the beers are cold!!!!... this place is a gem

    Mixed Ceviche (Fish and shrimp)

This is a hidden gem!!! The outside is very unassuming and can be easily missed or confused with being part of the car shop next door, but once you're inside it gets way better. You probably won't be trilled by the decor much but the service and the quality/freshness of the food has always been on point on at least 5-6 times that I went to. Great portion size and the flavor is just outstanding! The only thing I can think of is price. There are similar seafood places in San Antonio that are priced better. This might possibly explain why it's been somewhat empty every time I am there. My recommendation is the ceviche mixto which is pictured, but there is plenty on the menu to choose from!

Avoid this place over 40min wait for food in empty restaurant ceviche micro was 25.00 when menu shows 16 the waitress claims there's a notice that says prices could change. Place is a money trap. Hilarious.

    Fish and shrimp platter

Service was excellent, food was really good. Will definitely come again next time we are I. San Antonio

    Mariscos de mar

Appetizers tostadas and fish broth, mariscos de mar medium and shrimp quesadillas, it was all delicious. I asked the gentlemen at the next table if I could take a picture of their food. The outside might discourage from stopping but inside is clean and good service. Prices on menu are not correct the marisco Del Mar was $3 more than listed.

    While fried fish

Wife had the fried mojarra. We prefer without the flour to get the skin crispy. I got the fried fish and shrimp, both were tasty. Service was great and food was fresh. Note, the menus need to be replaced or heavily sanitized. Check your tickets, the price charged for mojarra was $2 more than menu. I understand if menu says "market price ", but that wasn't the case.

    Shrimp Cocktail

Sofia was our server and she was lovely! The service was fast and the food was fresh. I had a shrimp cocktail and my friend had a tostada. They also had live music that day. Will definitely go back!

Been here a couple of time and it's been outstanding. Don't be fooled by the exterior the food inside is outstanding! Their Mariscos soup is excellent, I haven't tried their ceviches but they look amazing.

I ordered the fried…read morecatfish & fried wing plate with cabbage, yams, cornbread a tropical punch beverage and peach cobbler. The cabbage was somewhat spicy, the cornbread muffin was a half muffin, the muffin did not fill up the cupcake muffin wrapper. But the fried catfish, fried chicken wings and yams were on point, I would order the catfish and chicken wing plate to go anyday! The peach cobbler was very sweet. My daughter ordered meatloaf, a pork chop plate, Mac & cheese, collard greens, cornbread muffin, a tropical punch beverage and banana pudding which I felt the pudding was watered down vs. being thick. She asked for medium cooked pork chops and one pork chop was medium and one pork chop was over cooked. She notified the cashier and he stated they both were cooked at temp the same time. The collard greens were spicy and the Mac & cheese were watered down. I had to go to the restroom. This was the worst restroom in any restaurant I have ever used. First, there was no light on, I had to ask for light and one of the employees turned on the light. Secondly, there was an awful hole in the top right corner ceiling, I was afraid to use the restroom for fear of some bug crawling in through the ceiling hole. Third, there was also a hole in the wall visible behind the toilet tank top, again I was afraid to set down on the toilet and the whole bathroom decor was unappealing. When other patrons described this establishment as as "HOLE IN THE WALL" they were absolutely correct. Don't forget about the hole in the ceiling! Entering into the building, the walls and ceiling were black, making the atmosphere sad. There was also a small bar to the left of the dining area. But the kicker for me was, our two meals, two beverages, and two desserts cost $61!!! As many Soul Food Restaurant I have eaten in with my daughter for two people, I have never been charged so much for two soulfood meals with two beverages and two desserts. RECOMMEDATION: Of course my palate is different from other customers, but I would never return to the establishment due to being over charged for two meals, two beverages, two desserts and the lady's restroom was the pits.

Ma Parker prides herself on family, giving people second chances and a decent meal for a reasonable price. Everyone who came in for lunch paid Ma Harper respect and was treated like family. The decor is die-hard NOLA with tons of memorabilia. The booths and chairs are old but the food is made with pride and love. The fried shrimp po-boy, fully dressed on a perfect NOLA roll was a must try. A small side of red beans and rice was also included. The sandwich was packed with crispy fried shrimp, but the normal remoulade sauce was replaced with ketchup / mayo mixture, not savory. The red beans and rice were fine but lacked real flavor. I am glad I gave Ma Harper's Creole Kitchen a chance. Many of the frequent flyers here, obviously love this neighborhood staple. Ma Harper's has a big heart and I wish her continued success. Dining here is more than food, it can also be about love and feeding people. Thanks Ma Harper for a memorable experience.

The Marriott Tribute Portfolio property sits along a quieter stretch of the River Walk between Pearl and downtown, with sleek interiors, an outdoor fireplace lounge, lush greenery and a river-facing patio. Ducks, joggers, people-watching and glowing hanging lights after sunset make it feel like a little hotel holiday without leaving the city. Service has always been friendly and accommodating to our preferences, and the menu is surprisingly robust with New Orleans-inspired Cajun and seafood flavors alongside steaks, pasta, duck, lamb and Southern comfort dishes. Our repeat fave is the fried calamari -- crispy, savory and brightened up with jalapeños, chile flakes, sauce and grilled lemon. The beau keeps raving about the Diablo pasta. The catfish nuggets were a bit drier for us, but a side of the marina sauce brought them right back to life along with tartar sauce. For next time: frog legs and alligator appetizers on the menu! One of our serendipitous moments was walking along and were spotted by friends already seated here, waving us over from across the River Walk to join them. That pretty much sums up the charm -- scenic, easygoing and social. Great for daily happy hour, al fresco dining or a relaxed stop between Pearl and downtown when you want the River Walk experience with calmer space.
