We submitted a catering quote request, and to our surprise, Richard called to discuss it. Unfortunately, the call was not the kind of interaction you'd hope for when trying to plan an event. I'm writing this in the hopes that Minh will reach out to me directly with a contact number so we can move forward and work with Aloha Catering. Otherwise, we'll need to start exploring other catering options. I will update this review once I hear back from Minh.

Passion for Catering was recommended by a friend and booked them for our baby shower of about 75 guests. I wasn't expecting anything more than good food and good service but what we received blew away expectations. The team was responsive throughout the booking process (a huge plus) and offered an eclectic and robust menu. That's all great to start but the real test came the day of our event. Their team was there on time to set up and food was ready by the time our first guests arrived. The food was delectable and truly made our time with friends and family memorable. Just as Passion for Catering was recommended to us by a friend, we'll be recommending them to all our friends on the market for a caterer. *kicking myself for not taking photos but will update for our next event!

First off, 100% pros! Highly recommend you consider (at least get a quote) using the historic venue…read morefor any function for 70 or less! Susan (owner) is prompt and responsible on communications. Usually same day, 24 hours at the most. She is also a direct communicator (i.e., she will volunteer best practices in advance - which I personally resonated to). You can tell she has expertise in catering immediately. We needed a seating plan for our church's 20th Anniversary to accommodate 70 people and were able to get 60 in the main room and another table for the remaining 10 just outside in the adjoining buffet/bar area ( with line of sight to main room there was no problem). We opted in for some appetizers and a buffet style menu and hosted refreshment bar. The catered pricing, including venue was more than I was expecting, but in hindsight was reasonable considering the flexibility in set up accommodations, wonderful service and tasty food. Susan permitted several onsite run throughs for us, and gave us early access to set up which was an unexpected perk. Our service team consisting of Lisa, Julie, Adriana and Shelly were all in place and totally in the zone the entire event. They had out on platters the stuffed mushrooms and crab cakes three minutes into the welcome and mingle portion of the banquet. The coffee pot and condiments were ready all through the three hour event. The buffet line was opened and the food was warm (could have been hotter), but all tasty. I suggest that the gravy pot be reposition because it was hard to get too with being squeezed in between the two serving bins. Not sure why at some point that one of the staff members moved into the line to serve out the chicken fillets only. That was a little odd. The cake was expertly platted and served at the right moment. Tables cleared and waters refreshed adequately. Parking was street only but had nearby options so it all worked out well. The Audio/ Visual equipment was above average and worked without any issues. The entrance way on the front corner of the cafe would benefit with a cautionary led light or tape on the entry's one step as it blends into the approach and can represent a trip hazard, but we had no issues during our event. The bathrooms are eclectic, in character and clean. This organization did a fine job for our special event and we are very glad to have selected High Street Catering and Cafe. Hope this helps. - Pastor Mike

With only a week's notice, they were able to accommodate our event without any issue. The food came 30 mins early which gave us enough time to prepare the lunch area for 70 people. From the time of order to food drop off, they were super nice, friendly, and accommodating. They helped bring the food up even though we had enough people to do it. All the food were prepped as if we were getting it fresh dining in at the restaurant. Every dish was cooked perfectly and packed tons of flavor. The price was pretty reasonable as well. Hands down, the chimichurri skirt steak was my favorite paired with the sofrito rice and the boniato mash. The plantain crusted cod was really good with the cuban corn saute. We will definitely be using Havana Catering again for our future events!
